Black spots after pumping - at wounded areas

Black spots after pumping - at wounded areas

Hey all,

I finally got a new cylinder and am enjoying pumping with a cylinder that fits. A few months ago I had to have surgery on my shaft (skin issue, didn’t know what the hard lump was, luckily not cancer). It’s fully healed, however, after pumping tonight there is a black spot where the incision/wound is. I cut my pumping short because of it, I don’t want to damage anything.

Is this normal and is it safe to pump with this? I’ve had black spots before after pumping from other recovering wounds (pulling out an ingrown hair and the associated scar).

Thanks all!

I think considering this is an area where you’ve had problems already you should proceed very carefully,

A black spot would suggest deeper bleeding than the common red spots you get on the surface ? Or maybe pumping for too

Long without a break ?

Either way I’d take a few days off til it’s gone, and work back into it slowly.

That is no bueno my friend.

Black spots are deep bruises. Some of these can become permanent brown spots if not taken care of. Whatever you’re doing STOP for a few days and warm up as much as possible until the spots vanish. Then cut your pumping time in half. You may even want to start back up with 3hg for 10-15minutes tops each session.

First of all, with all pumping questions like this, you should tell us how much pressure you are using and for how long, so please let us know.

I totally agree with the previous answers. Black is bad, but you can recover with time. There is trapped deoxygenated blood creating the black spot that will have to be absorbed by your body. For now, lay off the pumping and consider using a heat pad to help stimulate blood flow to the area.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

I’ve had a black spot or two appear in areas where there was slight injury. One was a pimple and one was an ingrown hair. I think I took a day or two off, but didn’t worry about it too much. Yours being from a bigger injury, or an actual incision, I’d approach it with more caution.

Thanks Gp, I’ll include that.

My session lasted about 1.5 hours. I was maintaining 5 Hg for 5-10 minutes at a time, then relieving pressure and letting it rest for a minute or two. My goal (and from what I’ve read) was to ensure fresh blood flow. I did not feel any sort of pain in the black spot and as of this morning the discoloration is gone, just looks a little bruised. It is on the underside of my penis which is why I didn’t notice it during pumping.

There is still scar tissue in that spot from the surgery. Could it be that the blood gets caught up in that tissue? I am doing the light skin massages to assist with scar tissue in hopes of assisting the area.

Thank you for the quick feedback and help, as always.

That is a very aggressive pump routine both from a time and pressure standpoint. I rarely pump for over 30 minutes and 3”hg.

When you do start up again I would suggest a routine along those guidelines and monitor yourself closely to avoid a recurrence.

What tends to happen with surgery is that the blood vessels which are cut form scar tissue as the blood-vessels heal, which does not have the elasticity of normal tissue and cannot stretch the same way. If forced too hard it will tear, microscopically at first, causing a bleed that looks like a black disc if it’s the scar tissue in the blood vessel that ruptures. If you get the pressure off (pumping or clamping) very quickly, it goes a way in a few days. If you don’t get the pressure off the area, you can cause a quite nasty bleed in very little time, i.e. more than a few seconds.

Even minor ones that go quickly create a weak spot and are very prone to bleeding easily in the future, so you absolutely must not PE with pressure until they are completely healed, which can take quite a while. Any PE that doesn’t cause a ‘re-bleed’ is ok.

All injuries happen from "too much", or "too much, too soon" or "doing the exercise incorrectly".

Hm, that doesn’t sound like great news, Goat. Are you saying I should avoid pumping for another few months?

Also, does most PE use pressure of a sort? The only one I can think of is hanging that doesn’t.

I had a similar injury. I found jelqing was ok, and clamping seemed fine for about 3 to 5 minutes, then within seconds the black spot would start to come back. It happened so quickly that it was impossible to say ‘I’ll get the clamp off before it comes back’ because I never knew exactly when it would, and by then it was too late.

Basically you’ll have to keep a very close watch on it and just see what you can and can’t do without causing a re-occurrence.

The odd thing is, I’ve had this happen in the past as I mentioned. Pumping seemed to make the area heal quicker, despite the black spot. I thought it had something to do with forcing blood to the area and giving it something to heal with.

Fire, perhaps I misunderstood you. Are you saying that what I had was a bleed, or just some blood that got caught up in the injured area (like what gprent) was referring to? Or are they one and the same?

And again, much thanks for all of your feedback.
