The Captn's Wench: PE Device

El Capitan (the largest hunk of exposed granite on the planet):

As someone who is chronically incapable of leaving well enough alone, I’ve been experimenting with two variations:

— I cut pieces of gel shoe insoles and used them as grippers, as PirateSteve described. I like the feel. I have thus far been able to hang with just as much weight as with real Grippers, and the insoles may be more comfortable — I’m still alternating sets with one and then the other to discern if there is a difference. The gel insoles have little indented circles that provide some texture and prevent slippage. I have not yet figured out how to design them in a way that would enable hanging without wrap.

— I cut the velcro cylinder down from two inches wide to about one and a third inches. I reduced the size of the grippers and velcro on the hanging strap commensurately. The smaller size is a better fit for me, while it is still able to support the 10 pounds I’ve been hanging quite comfortably. I might try a slightly larger and slightly smaller size to find my optimal width.

So, have happy T-Day. I know as I’m feasting at the table I’ll be giving thanks for my Captn’s Wench (although probably not audibly, as I don’t want to have to explain it to my mother-in-law.)

Pronunciation: “e-v&-‘lü-sh&n
(1) : a process of continuous change from a lower, simpler, or worse to a higher, more complex, or better state

The gel insoles are a priceless modification - All hail PirateSteve!
It’s not a necessary one, but it really does become icing on the cake. Where can I get them in black?
I too have I been unable to hang sans wrap. I guess I have too much skin flaccid. The smallest amount of Thera (10”) works for me.

Thanks for noting your experiment with trimming the overall size of the Wench. I hope that if others are having issues with it covering too much of their shaft, they will try this and post their feedback. It’s very easy to do and doesn’t take any skill (posting I mean)

El Capitan: Yes, I am a giant slab of granite but only when in the Spanish Forums.

Thanksgiving: Give thanks for your Wench Ike, and say it out loud. Remember to give thanks for Velcro and the man who invented it. And above all, remember to keep a straight face every time your mother-in-law says “turkey neck”.

Happy T-day, Ike

Ah, velcro…

I remember taking car trips with my parents back before Du Pont or who ever it was found a way to make velcro synthetically. We’d drive for miles past the fields of velcro in all the colors of the ski parkas; hook always on the East side, loop always to the West. All around we’d see the chubby white tofus out grazing in the fields, with their sharp little teeth nibbling the velcro. Sadly, those days are gone.

Hailing me will always get my attention Cap! I did in fact see some black gelsoles at, let me think, Outdoor World in Lauderdale. They have a website, perhaps…

Ah, the joys of Velcro. On their website ( they say, “And some of the most innovative and interesting ways to use VELCRO® brand fasteners aren’t listed on the package - they’re devised by do-it-yourselfers inspired to use the product to make their lives better, simpler, or simply more fun!” If only they knew Cap, if only they knew. For a fine short history of the fabulous Velcro I present this link on their own website:

Funny Ike, they didn’t mention the tofus grazing. I find the gelsoles comfortable enough to hang 15 pounds without wrap, but I feel pain differently than most and tend to forget that. Also with the added width of the gel plus my own 5” flaccid girth I had to move up to a large cableclamp (which Cap, I like more even without the added gel width because the large clamp really hits only the sides where the grippers are and compresses none of the top or bottom - it just works better for me). Oh, and another thing Cap, just so I could tell you I winched my wench. I clipped my wench to a halyard (line going up to the top of the mast) and then cranked up the tension with the winch for a few sets Friday. Since I forgot my weights I also hung the last couple of days with a 13 pound anchor - got a nice cut on a leg from a fluke to prove it too. And Ike, I would much rather think of you as a wife beater than as the guy you have posted in your avatar now…

No, A merry Life and a short one, shall be my Motto."--Bartholomew Roberts

I think we can safely assume that at that moment you were the only person on earth doing this. That makes 6 BILLION people…and one crazy creative Pirate.
Thanks for the Velcro link. Great reading material as I hang (in a far more conventional manner than you).
I just learned of your finger mishap and wish you a speedy recovery. Maybe with that cast on your hand you’ll come up with more PE methods and mayhem?

Get well soon,

Hello German guys out there,

You can get the needed Velcro at

—-> Klettverschluss Haftteil 50x10cm

And another substitute for the grippers: rubber sole of a shoe
I found it by accident at “Karstadt - Einrichtungshaus”. It’s a strong kind of rubber and available with different patterns that allow a good grip. I bought a 10x15cm piece.

There are yet no CableClamps available in Europe so I formed two oval shaped pvc halfes with the measurements of a Medium CableClamp and added two bolts with wingnuts to tighten from the sides.

It didn’t work that good. I like the idea of the wench and I could see that it is a good device but I think there is no appropiate way to substitute the CableClamps as the movement of the oval shaped halfes during the closing process is very essential.

The rubber sole idea is a great one. Are you saying you can buy just the rubber sole. as in a replacement sole - or are you buying a shoe and carving it up?
I ask because I considered posting this idea but thought better of it because of the amount of work likely involved in tearing apart a shoe. But if there is a way to purchase just rubber soles you have opened a great avenue toward solving the gripper issue for many out there.

About the clamps - have you seen Pirates post about wire ties? Are they available in Germany?

I have many German friends here in the States. I like my German crew, they always serve lots of excellent sausage purchased from a German butcher and drink quality beer as a rule. I love to listen to them tell jokes in their native tounge once they’re sufficiently inebriated. The punchline always kills me even though I haven’t a clue what they’re saying.

Thanks estatic

no shoe carving needed :)

Yes, you can buy the backup rubber sole in plates of 6”x4”. I know that it would not cover a whole sole of a shoe. I think it is mainly for the heel rubber part of leather shoes. I was surprised too about this discovery because I think most people don’t have the tools to fix their broken shoes but who cares if we can use this rubber for different things. :) Just look at which store you can get it in the US.

When I use the Wench I keep noticing the head seems to expand with blood until the point where it feels lke it is going to burst.I am using eight pounds to hang with not sure why it is happening or if I should be alarmed or not since I am only hanging for fifteen minute spots. Anyone else noticing the same thing? know what is causing it and how to stop it?

Two things-
1. Does it happen with any specific angle (BTC, SD, SO, OTS) or does that not matter?
2. The issue of too much or too little blood flow to the glans can almost always be remedied by adjusting how tight or loose you wear your wrap.

Let me know

I am wearing it right now unwrapped as I seem to get too much skin when I do wrap plus a can check out the head.Got it on really tight seems if I go any loser It may slip off. Any thoughts on how to adjust it? Also I am hanging straight down. As always I appreciate your responce and wisdom.

I find it easiest to first put on the wench and then squeeze as much blood out of the glans as possible. I then close the clamp as tight as possible while my head is still “deflated”. This seems to prevent too much blood from accumulating - but doesn’t mean blood flow is completely cut off - so sometimes set length can be cut short because of what you’re experiencing now.
This is a problem many hangers confront. It’s another point in favor of wrapping because as I’ve said your wrap can act as a great sentry to blood flow once you’ve mastered a consistent wrapping technique.

I think you’re going to have to experiment a bit. There are so many variables and options that I’m certain you will arrive at a solution that suits your personal needs. What works for me might not for you.

Also: I don’t think that wrapping would or should hide your glans from view. Unless you have a preference for wrapping over the head.

BTW- A tighter Wench is a better Wench in my opinion.

I’ll keep it tight Cap,thanks for getting back to me.

I finished constructing my wench and have now used it twice. I am VERY impressed. I get consistant downward pressure applied to my unit

The skin on my shaft is loose. It’s not loose in the sense that there is additional skin hanging off, it’s loose in that it doesn’t seem to be anchored very tightly and slides around the shaft. That being said, if I attach the wench around my shaft as per the Capth’s instructions, the skin just slides forward and the edge of the wench digs into my head; this is very uncomfortable and I suspect would be damaging to my dick in the long run.

If there are any like me, you may find the following as a solution, though do so at your own risk; I don’t have much hanging experience. I use a strip of 14”x3” thin grip material. I wrap the grip around the tip of the head to midshaft. Because the strip is so long, it goes around many times adequatly padding the head. I then attach the wench about 1” from the tip of the head and voila! A very secure, snug and comfortable hang.

I suspect this is would not be a problem for indivudals that have tight skin on their shafts, but for me it’s the only way to get a comfortable, consistant hang.

Back into PE after 3 year pause

Hi Tug,
Thanks for the nice words.
I know you’re new to hanging so I want to stress that you not loose site of the fact that your gains will come only if you are grasping the internal structures of the penis. You already have a lot of skin which puts you ahead of the game. The need to stretch skin before gains are possible is an issue most hangers have to deal with.
Because you have ample skin I think that as long as you are convinced you’re getting stretch in your ligs and/or your tunica and not just your skin the only thing stopping you from gaining now is time.
