Just seems there’s not as much posting here anymore.

When I go to the gym, I see idiots flinging ridiculous weights back & forth, yet the women’s heads turm when I walk by and pick up half the weight.

Usually the “flingers” disappear quite quickly, lost to injury, to enjoy a lifetime of comments like “yeah, you don’t get that big if you’re not on ‘roids”.

I use the minimum weight that gets me results: I’ve got a big, tough cock, and for the record, I do careful manual BTC, though I’m tapping out on BTC gains.

The only idea with this thread was to see how many guys here at Thunders are still hanging. Kinda seems dead as to whats going on with gains and such. We just need to motivate each other.

Typing still misses what is meant when someone is communicating in person. This is my biggest down fall with the forums. I seem to come across wrong so many times but look guys, I’m not trying to start anything, I’m just like you. Sometimes I fear that I will be barred from here because I may come across wrong but I do want to participate. Anyway, maybe I should just sit on the sidelines and read only.

One month ago I switched angles from BTC to SD. Tell you truth, I wish I had switched sooner. My ligs, with BTC, were spent. Now, SD feels like it’s hitting different ligs, plus my tunica getting a substantial amount of stress, too.

GM, have you tried leaning to one side while hanging SD? Holy smokes!, what a stretch. (Assuming you are seated during SD.)

From my observation, I believe several factors contribute to this fall off of constant participation and posting. I can’t say that they are absolute facts, but more in the lines of a hypothesis. This is the way I see it:

First, is that hanging requires too much of either a monetary investment or material investment. The price of a Bib Hanger places it out of the reach of some. Maybe they just can’t spare the change, which is very understandable. Also some guys are hand crafted orientated and just can’t put a home brew together for one reason or another.

Second, is the security factor of hanging. Trying to explain why there is this strange off clamp device in your sock drawer must be working against some people. The chance of someone walking in on you due to privacy violations is high. I guess baby oil, a full woody, a computer blaring porn is more explainable as spanking the monkey than this perceived BDSM hanging to the curious eye that catches you.

Third, is the time factor. Most people just can’t seem to devote a regular amount of time needed to set everything up. The wrapping, the weights, the sets, and all that goodness. Hanging requires harsh amounts of time management to get any result. This is opposite of the ease of some baby oil, your two hands, and some “motivational literature or programming”. You are easily equipped everywhere to do just that.

Fourth is the harsh learning curve of the first set of weeks hanging. Learning to wrap properly, playing with toe-in & toe-out can really get frustrating with those of lesser patience. I guess good old manual techniques with vids are more easily found to be a guide for some.

Fifth, is the idea that hanging really should be the plan when you hit a halt in your progress. Nothing like the force of gravity to bust a plateau wide open by sheer unforgiving physics.

Sixth, is the idea that hanging is the easiest way to break your dick. It is the most unforgiving method in some people’s eyes. Ruining a nerve, getting erectile problems, etc… is the fear. Hanging requires strict attention.

Seventh, is the idea that hanging will give you a play-doh dick. What I mean by this is that length will be gained by only lessening your girth. Just like those days when you rolled the play-doh up in your hands and made it long and pencil like. I also believe that a lot of pill sellers have harped on the dangers by saying it is impossible to gain safely via hanging.

Eight, the final one, is that hanging gets stagnant idea wise. Until some great new theory or idea pops up, everyone loses interest in hanging. Without another LOT Theory or “how to beat your tunica to tuna with hanging” in 10 weeks, people prefer manual PE. The sub-forums here grow stagnant as ideas are left open with no further innovation or development down the line. Bib himself has posted that he believed this hanging section had died off a few times. What actually happens is that hanging is almost like a fad to some. I am not trying to disrespect hanging, but I believe some people see it that way. So interest gets generated in here and then waxes and wanes in a constant pattern. MAYBE WE ARE JUST IN A SIMPLE LULL FOR NOW.

Twatrod laid it all out. Hanging is, in my opinion, the best method of PE, but also the least condusive to a normal lifestyle. As much as I want to hang for another year, I am looking forward to retiring and getting on with my life. A hanging routine eats up several hours of your daily free time.

I’ll stop rambling now because I’m repeating what I’ve said in another thread. Teaserod is right, others have wondered the same thing about the Hanger’s Forum.

I’m pretty happy with the way hanging is going for me and plan to stick with it. Someone here at Thunder’s cited the “Eat the frog first thing in the morning” principle, or something like that. The idea is to get the unpleasant part of your day taken care of first. I personally don’t find hanging unpleasant, but do need to make time to do it and waking up an extra hour and a half early every morning is no big deal and lets me “eat the frog” without having to cut into my “normal life”.

For me, only item 3 (time) of TT list is an issue (lucky I guess) and I deal with in the manner described above.

I’m hangin’ 18 lbs BTC… almost impressive if I understand you correctly! I’ve worked up to it as necessary, and consider it to be the minimum weight required to start my sessions with to achieve fatigue by the third set. Usually, I drop to 16 for the 3rd fatigued set.

All hangers should occasionally read the “hangers credo”…use search to find it, its good!

Twat summed it up. Reason #8 is the most significant, IMO. There’s just no new news.

I think the forum can be revived, however, if we start looking for new ways to optimize the hanging process. Good data is very important. Its crucial that lots of people respond to polls dealing with hanging. I’ve posted a number of them, but I receive a fairly small number of responses.

I still hang and check in. Like stated above, not much inovation, but its really not required. In my opinion hanging is the best method of PE. A known force for a known amount of time. Optimization of time vs weight vs temp would be nice but I doubt we can ever come to any conclusions.

Currently I’m struggling with getting setup correctly for 17 pounds SD. The first set goes fine, but subsequent sets I have head pressure issues. Sometimes get those miniature “blisters” on the coronal ridge.


You might try moving the hanger back 1/8” or so toward the base. ALso, make sure the cotton under-wrap extends forward of the Theraband enough to cushion your corona from the Theraband when the hanger shifts forward. You might even consider folding over the cotton.
