50+ PE: What Do You Think?

Over time, I’ve been surprised to see that many TP members are in the 50+ age range. While much of PE theory and practice cuts across all ages, some aspects are specific to age ranges. To stimulate conversation from men roughly 50+ about their experiences, or from guys of any age who have thoughts on this topic, I’d like to offer a few ideas:

* Advantages you’ve found about being an older PE’r?
* Challenges that you wouldn’t have had in the past?
* Regrets about not starting it years ago?
* Has PE helped improve your erection quality (EQ)?
* Other aspects that are unique only to that roughly +/- 50 range and above?

Less pressure, more maturity. No silly thoughts of ‘I have to gain and inch in 6 months before I see my gf when she’s back from college’.
Realising that doing too much too soon doesn’t lead to more growth, only more injuries. Accepting that some things just take time.
Knowing that PE, like getting results from a diet or the gym or learning an instrument or a language, requires dedication and consistency, and being mature enough to build PE into life so that it’s achievable and having the discipline to do it right.

* Challenges that you wouldn’t have had in the past?
None really. Being very busy and having to put others before yourself can get in the way more at around 50, but as said above, discipline gets around that most of the time.

* Regrets about not starting it years ago?
The best time to start anything is many years before, but if you didn’t do that, the best time to start anything is right now. Knowing that comes with maturity as well. :)

* Has PE helped improve your erection quality (EQ)?
I guess I started seriously in my mid 30s. I had no problems then and still have no problems now. Maybe if I hadn’t done years of PE my EQ wouldn’t be so good, but I’ll never know that for sure. I know a few of my friends have more EQ problems than when they were younger and had higher sex drives, but in most cases I suspect years of being couch potatoes or drinking are as much contributing factors as age.
PE almost always improves guys EQ whatever age they are, but getting fit, eating a good diet etc. will also have a marked effect on someone with poor EQ and lifestyle.

* Other aspects that are unique only to that roughly +/- 50 range and above?
The enormous sense of satisfaction that being older doesn’t make you any less capable of enjoying your penis than you were when you were younger!


Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.

I humbly think Firegoat has mentioned the most important points. I may add some points which are important to me.

In my particular case I would add the experience as lover which makes us less size anxious on the pro side.

On the negative side there is time, as I am in the peak zone of professional activities and keep a tight balance between work and off-work time.

As specific thing for older men I’d mention the option for solid EQ between PE and pill-induced erection. Keeping or even getting better EQ becomes a very conscious choice for a healthy lifestyle.

Do I regret for having started PE at a later age? Certainly I do, but not because of size topics but because I learn so much about my own body, soul and mind here at TP’s. It’s the most men-friendly zone in the web I know and you can have some serious talks that make you advance.

51, here… yikes, where did the time go?

Great responses from everyone. Below is my take on some of the questions.

* Do I regret for having started PE at a later age?

Absolutely, I think my age makes a difference in the time it takes to recover and gain. Being in my 50s (cough cough), I have a few health issues that did not exist in my 20s. My health is good now but no where near as good when I was young. Healing time back then was incredibly fast and my EQ was always 110% or more. Refractory times were almost non-existent, I just needed a second or two and I was ready to go again. Now it takes me up to 72hrs, so I have to work around my PE schedule when I release so I can have a successful PE session as soon as possible. Needless to say, I edge with my wife often so my PE routine isn’t impacted. The thought of missing a few PE days bothers me.

I also regret that I didn’t meet up with you guys decades ago. This is an amazing community, more that I ever could have wished for. Before meeting you guys, I was in a dark place mentally with what happened to me as a child. I’ve shared my story with a few of you and the support I received was overwhelming, almost to the point of tears. I know there was no way I could seek counseling or talk with a group but this forum makes it a lot easier. It has truly made a difference in my life and my phallus is happy once again. I’m not sure I can thank you guys enough. Okay, okay… enough mushy stuff for now.

* Advantages you’ve found about being an older PE’r?

Honestly, I cannot thin of one. I have always been extremely analytical and methodical. I don’t do anything without thinking it through and make a plan of action to get me to my goals. Had I known about PE 20yrs ago, i think I would have gained more in a shorter period of time following the same routine I have today.

* Has PE helped improve your erection quality (EQ)?

Since I have a mild form of ED, PE has helped a little because if I had not done it, I am sure my ED would have worsened to the point I couldn’t get it up if I wanted to and at 50, I am too young for that to happen. The though of never being able to have vaginal sex again sends shivers down my spine.

No need to gain size in order to get or retain girls. Also, dick and balls hang lower naturally with age. So, I’ve had a little bit of flaccid increase by doing nothing other than aging.

* Challenges that you wouldn’t have had in the past?
Less enthusiasm, less of that single-minded obsessed nature that young guys can have. I wish I still had that.

* Regrets about not starting it years ago?
Yes! But my excuse is that the Internet didn’t exist when I was in my 20’s, so I didn’t know about this stuff.

* Has PE helped improve your erection quality (EQ)?
Absolutely. Bigger, fatter erections. Longer lasting time.

* Other aspects that are unique only to that roughly +/- 50 range and above?
A meatier, mean dick with prominent veins when really erect—a visual quality I like. When younger, it was smoother, nicer, and unimpressive. Partially this is the result of PE; partially age, too.

Not looking to make quick gains. My wife of 47 years has never complained so I was never under pressure to make gains

* Challenges that you wouldn’t have had in the past?
It’s hard to teach an old dog new tricks. It would also be difficult to explain to wife of 47 years why I am now doing PE. Always wondering if old tissue will respond to new stresses.

* Regrets about not starting it years ago?
I never stop thinking About what kind of gains I would have if I had done PE for over 50 yeRs

* Has PE helped improve your erection quality (EQ)?
One of the reasons I joined Thunders was because I suffered with diabetic induced ED. Thanks to information I learned here about pumping/constriction, I am still able to keep my wife more than satisfied

* Other aspects that are unique only to that roughly +/- 50 range and above?
Incidents of ED are more prevalent in this age group and several techniques learned at Thunders can help overcome this affliction.

I started PE when I was 57 and I’m now 60. I started because I was in a new relationship and having occasional problems getting and/or maintaining erections. I didn’t want to take drugs, did a Google search for natural ED remedies and found this place. I’m so glad I did.

It’s now three and a half years later and my EQ is vastly improved from what it was when I started this journey. And this, in turn, has done a lot for my confidence.

Just a few days ago, my girlfriend was having a talk with one of our married friend whose husband is a few years younger than me. She confided to my girlfriend that her husband has ED problems and wanted to talk about it. They talked for a while and my girlfriend told her friend at the end of the conversation that I get it up every time, without drugs, and I’m always raring to go, which is true.

It made me feel great to hear her say that which only reinforced my sense of confidence in the bedroom with her.

And this isn’t an uncommon thing. Many, many guys 50 and over start to get erectile problems and it’s a terrible thing. I know, I’ve been there.

But PE has changed that for me and so I’ll always be grateful to this place.

Would I have started PE earlier, if I didn’t already have an EQ problem? I probably would have because I now know that it’s possible to gain size through PE. Pre-PE I was 6” NBPEL until I was about 50 and put on some weight. My girth was 5.25”.

I always thought of myself as average but I now know from being here that I was actually above average. I’d been with around 30 women in my life and , thankfully, never got any complaints in the size department.

Along with better EQ I’ve gained about an inch in length and a half inch in girth which has also added to my confidence.

If I had known in my twenties or thirties that it was possible to get bigger through PE I probably would have done it, for that reason only.

But truthfully, I don’t have any act regrets about not starting sooner. I’m happy doing it now and I plan to keep doing it.

It’s done wonders for me as a man, I actually feel like I was 35 again, in a lot of ways.

It’s all been good for me.

Yes, I hear that: stories of men whose sex lives are dropping like flies…and their dicks, too. I’m proud to get it up and without drugs and keep it very stiff for a long time.

Never could have done this without PE.
