Vacuum Pumping 101

Cool thanks.

PST metal pump gauge.

Hi,

I ordered a package with 3 cylinders and the metal pump from PST and have tried it out (just 2 times so far). However the scale of the gauge on the pump goes from 5 to 30 inHg which seems really unusable for someone wanting to pump below 5 inHg like me. So far I’ve hardly sen the pin move and still it feels like there is enough vacuum, but maybe it’s just me that’s not used to it yet?

What are you guys thoughts on that? Should I get a replacement gauge, and if so do you have any recommendations?

I’d just take it to 5, and note how it feels, then reduce it a little bit, so it will be below 5, but still feels like there is enough vacuum. You will probably find the vacuum level will steadily drop anyway, as keeping a perfect seal is difficult, so you could just start at 5 and let the vacuum drop naturally, taking it back to 5 when it feels ineffective.

I’m interested in modifying an LApump to accommodate water pumping. I need an “overflow resivoir”? Can someone whose done this or knows how point me in the right direction to doing this mod? Thanks!

See the last item on this page http://thickwall.co.uk/connectors.htm - that’s what you are looking for. An auto parts store may have them; they are usually used for bleeding brake systems.

Pumptoys makes an angled entry called an easy entry and it is cut at a slant with single or douple thickness Rings (silicon) to buffer the pressure of the tube on the bone below the skin of the pubic area.

Wih this you can have a larger diameter tube without ball sucking inside events…Their custom tubes are platinum and I have tried most other varieties made.
pumping while in bed either before you go to sleep or in the early morning hours allows you to with very very little pressure keepm the tube on for very extended periods with No damage and still spectacular results.

the PST pump guage is rine. You jsut fdont need to do anything but keep it in the “Comfortable” and safe realm…you dont need another pump at all all.

once you get the feel you dont need a guage th epressure is obvious.

It’s Christmas so I’m assuming you are drunk powerman. If that is not the case, you need to read the Forum Guidelines.

My initial foray into pumping has been limited by privacy and available time but I had the chance to “do it right” yesterday - good warm-up, jelqs, supra slammers and then a set of 5 min low pressure pumps. I was edging when I was done and decided to measure the fullness. +3/8” in length and +1/4” in girth with a solid erection felt awesome. I really, really wish I learned about PE 20 years ago before the wife and kids….

11/20/2011: BPEL: 6", MEG: 4.75" (goal BPEL: ~7", MEG: 5.25")

5/9/12: BPEL: 6.5", MEG 5" (goal BPEL: 7.25", MEG: 5.5")

3/5/13: BPEL: 6.875", MEG 5 5" (max goal BPEL: 7.5", MEG: 5.75")

Just a few quick question. I’ve never used a pump, but it caught my attention now, and I would like to try, but I cannot decide what way to go.

Are those water pumps really that good (much better then air pump?) ? In particular the bath mate ?

I read a bit about it, and people seem to have an issue with the girth,
I am about 5.9-6” in girth, is the Bath mate Goliath the only one to go with in my case?

What about using a normal regular air pump, and simply put water inside? This may be obvious for you who use pumps, but like I said, I never used one or even held one in my hand, so would it work?

The problem with a Bathmate is it doesn’t come with a gauge so it is easy to go overboard and cause a lot of discoloration.

For a newbie to pumping, the absolute best way to go is start with normal air pumping using a pump with a gauge.

Water and air pumps with gauges are not compatible because if the gauge gets wet it will mess up the gauge. You can plumb your way around this to keep it dry, but for now, just start with air pumping.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Is the vacuum the same with water or air? I mean is 5hg the same from water pumping or air pumping? Seems to me that vacuum pressure is the same either way and it’s really a preference but I’m not a pumping expert or an engineer (yet).

Yeah, I thought that was strange for all of these different water pumps I’ve come across while looking information about water pumps, none have gauge. Yet they are so damn expensive, considering its a pretty simple, and cheap to make product.

Yes, I probably will get a pump with a gauge, I read someone saying that you should get a pump that is close to your size, but most that I’ve seen seem to be 8+inch in length. So for someone who is 6” BPEL, there would be about 2”+ free room, does this really matter?

So it is the gauge that is the problem, if you have a normal pump you can use it as a water pump? Isnt that much better choice then go for these expensive water pumps, considering you can find normal airpumps around 15$, and the water pumps are 100$+?

I don’t think a little extra cylinder length is a problem at all for air pumping, but if you use the cylinder to water pump, you want to make sure that the volume of water you need to remove from the tube during a session doesn’t exceed the reservoir capacity of your pump line. Otherwise, you will wind up with water in the gauge. The reservoirs that come with most pumps are fairly small, so they might not meet your needs if the tube is too long or if you selected a diameter to leave lots of room for girth expansion.

It is a lot easier to do full package water pumping because you have an extra large cylinder that you only have to fill about half way with water. Then the large airspace at the top of the cylinder is your cushion for the water to expand into without having to worry about water being sucked into the pump. In other words, your reservoir is the cylinder.
