Pumping question

Pumping question

I read somewhere that if you use a pump that you will eventually lose the ability to gain an erection without use of the pump. Is this true?

Or does this only happen if you abuse it by over doing things with too much pressure ect.

what are your opinions on this ?

Also how long should one do the Newbie routine before adding pumping to there training.

Pumping has only made my erections better, much better. As you mentioned though, it is true with any form of PE, if you go overboard your erection quality can suffer. Just always stay in control and learn your limits.

You should probably do the newbie routine for at least a month before starting pumping, but when you start pumping, it has a newbie process all on its own as you have to become acclimated to this method of PE.

The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Concurring that pumping made my real life erections better. Much better. I am unable to pump now for privacy reasons, and while my erections are good, they were much harder when I was pumping regularly. In addition I had a lot of night wood — it seemed as if I was hard most of the night.

Pumping is an excellent exercise if you approach it correctly and listen to your body. What has worked for me:

A good warm up and warm down with heat
Several short sets rather than one long set (I do either 2 or 3 ten minute sets)
Massage to full erection between sets.
Pumping a low pressure (I pump between 2.5 and 4HG. The thunders recommendation is to stay below 5HG)
Wrap the cylinder in a heating pad or similar to keep it warm.
Massage to full erection after your workout for 10+ minutes

Much of this I learned from the excellent posts of gprent, avocet8, Lampwick and all of the other thoughful longtime pumping vets on thunders.

The newbie process for pumping gprent mentions is here:

Vacuum Pumping 101

A related and very interesting thread about improving erections for those who have ED is here.

Vacuum Pumping when you have ED; the short version, according to Avocet8

Personally I did manual PE for 2 or 3 months before starting to pump. As my penis is a little sensitive to PE, I followed the recommendations in that thread, but doubled the time I took to get there.

Thank you for the advice guys, I will wait until a few months time until my penis is better conditioned before getting myself a good pump.

Which type of pump would you guys advise.

Everyone here likes LA pump district, I’ve always bought from vacu-tech. I think both are quality, but vacu-tech has just been the brand I go with.

Hi Light weight, I see you are in the UK. I have a pump from Body images which I find satisfactory - and you can use it for water pumping as well.

Their site is https://www.body-images.co.uk

But if you do a search on Google you may find others that are available over here

Psst! The link is at the bottom of the page :bigwink:

Does anyone have a suggestion for a cylinder? Whats better, glass or plastic? Easier to clean? Is there even a difference? Thanks

Invictus

Thank you petitfaun I will check out the site, I’m not looking to start pumping until I’ve been jelqing for a few month first, but it is definitely something I would really like to add to my PE programme when I feel the time is right.

I would like to thank all you guys here at Thunders, you guys are really helpful and give great advice.

Keep up the good work everyone.

I almost wish I had a glass tube. Glass can handle any substance your penis could (as opposed to acrylic tubes which, according to various posts around here, cannot handle some oil based lubes) and to clean it you could just scrub it with acetone (something you DEFINITELY cannot do with acrylic, inferred from a bad accident with an acrylic waterpipe :) ). However, it’d suck if you broke the thing. Also, glass is a great insulator, which might inhibit your ability to adequately heat it through to the inside with a heat wrap or somesuch. That said, acrylic isn’t perfect but I think it is the better option. Lexan tube anyone?

I’m not aware of any glass cylinders. There are kits that will let you convert a glass sun tea jar into a whole package pumping unit, but I would be concerned about putting glass under stress immediately next to my tender parts.

When it comes to tubes, the major design variables are size (diameter and length), wall thickness (thin or thick), base design (straightwall or flared), shape (cylindrical or tapered), and cushioned base or not.

To ask “Does anyone have a suggestion for a cylinder?” is rather a broad question. Can you narrow it a bit?

Oh, and to answer the original poster’s question:

My answer is: No. Pumping has only improved my erections.

For Lampwick, becoming hung like a donkey was the result of a total commitment.

Yea, my bad Lampwick. That was such a noob question. I meant just to ask about the glass vs. plastic.

Invictus — don’t worry about it.

As far as I know there are no glass cylinders. Which is good, because to me "penis" and "glass" does not sound like a good combination.

I did a brief write up of the two cylinders I have here — I like both of them. If I had to choose one over the other, it would be the one from bostonpump.com but I like the picturebrite.com one too:

sta-kool - So. Tubes…

Hope this helps. Other highly recommended vendors are lapdist.com and vacutech.com

As you get started, see also:

Selecting Your Cylinder Size

if you haven’t seen them already.

I swear that I’ve seen some glass cylindars somewhere. I just checked google- nothing.

I am almost done reading Vacuum Pumping 101 and I printed out a read a few pumping threads as I decided this is my next venture. But I won’t be getting a pump for the next 2 weeks ($$).

But ever since I saw that bathmate…love at first site…

Thanks for the reply sta-kool,

Peace!
Invictus
