Combining Clamping & Hanging for Length Gains

It seems like I am gaining length with clamping. I want to maximize my length gains so I want to combine both, hanging and clamping. What do you think is a more effective way to gain length:

(Hanging first and then clamping) OR (clamping first and then hanging)? It would be great if you could explain the theory behind it as well? Cheers

Clamping first, then hanging would be my choice. Think of the tunica as being like a balloon; If you blow a ‘penis shaped’ balloon up (making it more ‘pliable’) then deflate it, it becomes easier to stretch in length.

If you take a new balloon and stretch it first a few times, before blowing it up, it becomes easier to blow up (girth increase).

Slightly over-simplified explanation: the tunica on most men has 2 layers (some have 3). One runs with its fibres longitudinally, one laterally. In some men one is ‘tougher’ than the other, making them easier girth or length gainers. Most guys gain length more easily. Again, think of the ‘penis shaped balloon; as you blow it up, it grows in length relatively more than in girth.

You can use the same theory (and it is only really a theory - the physics works but no specific science has been done on this with the penis!) with stretching and jelqing, as well as with clamping and hanging. However, because most guys find it harder to gain girth, there is still a strong argument for stretching first, if someone is interested in both length and girth gains. If someone wants primarily length, then jelqing before stretching (or clamping before hanging) makes some sense.

Thanks firegoat, your explanation couldn’t have been any better, and it makes sense too. Just wanted to clarify one thing you said:

Does that mean GROWERS are easy length gainers, and SHOWERS are easy girth gainers? Cheers

No, that would be reading too much into it. If you happen to have a penis shaped balloon about, try blowing it up; you’ll find that once it gets fairly firm, more blowing tends to make it longer, but not much fatter. My schoolboy physics was never brilliant, but I think it has something to do with the pressure being exerted in all directions, but focussed on a smaller surface area at the end of the balloon. That could of course be total bollocks and someone with good knowledge of physics can correct me, but in practice, with the balloon, that’s the way it seems to work. :)

I think that your balloon analogy has merit. Multidimensional elastic fibers, internal pressure, both correlate well with penis anatomy.

I think that the main reason Bib suggests that guys go after length first is so that the hanger attachment area does not get irritated by the edema caused by girth work.

He also suggests that trying to lengthen something with a smaller diameter is easier.

I hang and lightly clamp. Bib says that as long as I do not reach fatigue while clamping I should be ok. I think that they (hanging and clamping) work well together as I do not like jelqing.

I also think that a guy can pick one or the other to focus gaining on, and then do the other lightly. This also ties in well with TGC Theory IMO.

I have a question for you firegoat. Do you reckon that it is still possible to have length gain after clamping for a period of time? Because at the moment I am not having any gain with hanging after 6 months but have not try clamping yet. So I intend to try clamping and put hanging on the side for a while. :)

I have always chosen not to give specifics like that. Your penis is not my penis, and and may or may not respond the same, even if you did your exercises identically to the way I do them. As soon as someone puts numbers on something, people start to judge results by numbers: that’s fine for racing drag cars; not so good for PE.

I also gained some length while on a clamping routine. I never measured and I seldom do. I prefer to judge my progress by the visual effects. The same with my bodybuilding progress. I rarely measure body parts or weigh myself. I just let the mirror be my judge.


Measurements: 11/06: 7.75" bpel/ 6.25" mseg.

I wanted your advice on my clamping/hanging routine. As you suggested for gaining length, I am clamping first and then hanging. I really don’t want to gain any more girth but my length is really taking off with clamping/hanging routine I think. I need to gain about an inch in length. What’s the optimal number of clamping sets do you suggest I should do to maximally stretch and loosen the tunica (before hanging), keeping in mind that I don’t want to gain any girth. I’m currently doing 3 clamping sets (10 mins each) followed by 3 hanging sets (20 mins each). Is this okay, or what do you suggest;

3 clamping sets + 3 hanging sets
2 clamping sets + 4 hanging sets
1 clamping sets + 5 hanging sets

Yes, you will most likely gain girth as well. You may find one 10 min. clamping set enough to loosen the tunica before hanging, and if you are gaining length on your current routine, but don’t want to gain more girth, try 1 clamping set and stick to the 3 hanging sets. Alternatively, if you don’t mind risking extra girth, do 1 clampins set, 1 hanging set, 1 clamping set, 2 hanging sets.

Hanging before clamping has had no synergistic value in my experience. In fact, I think it was worse as it weakened my erections immediately afterwards for clamping.

I don’t really think clamping before hanging had much of a synergistic value for me either. I use a Bib hanger and a cable clamp so they sort of offset each other - they only work on a few combined inches (the bib on the base and couple of inches above, the clamp from about an inch above the base onwards). Vacuum hanging may have a different effect.
