Knowing whether you are limited by Dorsal Thickening/Septum

Everybody I personally know seem to have this “cord” on their penis, few people here claim that they do not, I have my doubts whether they really don’t have it or haven’t located properly.

To me Dorsal Thickening is nothing but a myth at this moment.

If most people you know have it, then why do you say it’s a myth?

Tweaking,

Do you have a link for the desk lamp you found to support the 100w heat?

Since then I got a Phillips lamp but hadn’t been consistent with it, 2 weeks ago I started getting consistent and, you know what, then I dropped it and it broke too. So now I’ve ordered a telescopic/bendy desk-clamp arm which can support 100W globes and bought an IR globe from the petshop, once it comes I’ll be able to use IR heat more efficaciously than previously possible.

In summary, I haven’t had any new results but that’s to be expected since one thing or another has prevented me from a good routine. My desk clamp should arrive soon and I expect to start seeing gains from possibly 2 weeks onwards from using it.

Bruna, to be honest I’m not sure one way or another. Water will definitely increase the speed of the cooling of the tissue, and that my be a good thing. What I’ve always based this heating/cooling technique on were the results of a paper I read, which I think is posted on Thunders somewhere (can’t remember where though!), which basically stated that it is the period when collagen tissue cools still in the elongated state where the fibres actually re-arrange themselves (plastic deformation).

The paper also said that ideally, tissue that is elongated for a long period of time under smaller force (tension) is superior to using greater force for short periods of time. It did not, however talk about whether the speed of cooling had an impact, and I don’t know anything of bio-physics to be able to say one way or another. You could try it though, it’ll certainly speed up the process. I’d recommend using an icepack wrapped in a tea-towel, that’d be easier I think.

Tweaking,

Thanks to your contribution, I have started fulcrum hanging with IR heating. I heat for 10 minutes and continue to hang for another 10 minutes (cooling phase) in 1 session. I do this once in the morning and another in the evening.

I will like to hear your comments/suggestion.

Even though it’s coming out of Hong Kong, I gotta say I was really impressed with the quality of this lamp, it’s basically exactly what I was looking for. Cheap too. That being said, I am in no way affiliated with the seller.

Sounds perfect :)

What kind of weight are you using?

Two points, firstly, you might want to occasionally do 2 or more sets without removing the weight, just to mix things up a bit. Secondly, I found that to simply point the IR lamp at my penis was not enough to get the deeper dorsal thickening to a sufficiently useful heat. The clampable lamp helped with this, I found that by experimenting with pulling the skin at different angles and locations, there would be less skin between the cord and the source of heat, so that it would penetrate this structure more easily.

I’ve ever experimented (unsuccessfully) with using bulldog clamps on the ventral side of my penis to hold excess skin there, so that it would be tight along the dorsal side. My bulldog clamps were either too weak, or too strong and hurt my skin, I haven’t looked into it again but I still don’t think it’s a bad idea.

Thanks for your suggestions.

I fulcrum hang 6.6 pounds.

- you might want to occasionally do 2 or more sets without removing the weight: Do you mean repeating my process 2 or more times continously? If yes then it would be 20 mins x 2 = 40 mins?

My IR lamp is 150W which is very effective in heating up my penis structure, thats why i am limiting to only 10 mins.

Your thought is appreciated.

The myth of certain people having this issue called “Dorsal Thickening” that hold the gains back.

I’ve recently discovered I have this Cord, Has Anyone with it still trying to gain? Is it still V-stretches, a-stretches, Fulcrum that are effective. Would Bundled stretches work?

When I made length gains with the cord I was use a far TDP infrared lamp, which I bought on eBay, and I was doing hanging with a light weight and a fulcrum to let me do A and V techniques as well as bundled. I even did bundled and fulcrum A/V simultaneously . All the while I maintained that I would heat myself up as much as possible doing the initial hang, then allow myself to cool while still in the stretched position. When heating, I would often specifically move the skin around on the dorsal side so that the cord was exposed to the heat with as little tissue between the heat source and the cord as possible. This is not easy to do and I even experimented with using pegs on the ventral side of my penis to hold the skin taught on the dorsal side.

The fulcrum I think is pretty important. I used a drumstick (not the chicken type).

That lamp broke a long time ago after (I think) I dropped it. It was cheap of build and I couldn’t repair it. Since then I’ve dabbled in using normal IR lamps. I’ve finally settled on a phillips IR globe which I love, haven’t tried doing much hanging with it though.

You could get away with doing stretching instead of hanging but, really, why bother? Hanging is so much easier on your hands and more reliable.

Webster defines a myth as:

“…an unfounded or false notion.”

The dorsal thickening has anatomical foundation. It does exist as described in numerous posts in this thread. Its variability IMO give us the variability in the level of success in some aspects of PE seen by our members. I believe a true understanding of this thickening helps us to direct the techniques we should use to overcome plateaus.

Anyone have any pics on this ?

My question to you is when you were attempting to restart gains going after heated fulcrums, did you have any results worth mentioning?

I am starting to wondering if some of us “hard gainers” always have a thick chord to begin with. This is why gaining is so difficult?

By the sound of big gainers, they didn’t notice how prominence the chord is until they have made gains. So this leads me to think that those who already have a big hard chord would not be gaining much.

Just a thought.

Notorious "Hardgainer". No Gain in 4 Years! Check out my "Blog" under Profile.

(starting: Jun 2007) 5.75" BPEL x 5" EG / (Sept 11, 2011) 6.375" BPEL x 5.125" EG / (July 1st, 2014) 6.25" BPEL x 5.125" EG (lost a bit of size)

When I created a poll to find out how many people have the cord POLL: Your Limiting Factor I was quite surprised by the results. As you can see , almost 50% of people seem to have it and, more interestingly, another 20% of people ‘developed’ it after gaining some length. Similarly to what you’re saying, this suggests that it is a structure everyone has, and for some people it is simply ‘shorter’ than for other people.

I had always assumed it was more about the length of the cord than the thickness, since I think it’s unlikely that after gaining length the cord would somehow become thicker, but it makes sense that for those who did not feel it to begin with, after gaining length, it becomes noticeable.

This was good info for anyone who got stalled looking over it. I am going to revisit this angle of getting gains, MYSELF.
