Girth theory: Pumping vs. clamping

So Marinera if I’m understanding you correctly the reason my erect penis would appear to be longer in the tub is because lets say from midshaft up it is actually not as fat as an erection out of the tub. Well come to think about it when I pull it out to message it, it does feel skinnier , this puzzled me at first but really thought nothing about it till now. And over the course of the session during messaging it would start to feel thicker but I would notice it wouldn’t be as long in the tub, but maybe still longer than an erection outside of the tube. when this would happen the natural instinct would be to add more pressure. Since I have started it is reaching a further point in the tube

Hmmm, there seems to be so many people that don’t gain from pumping whatsoever. It is very disheartening to say the least! I have read of a lot of accounts of guys gaining from pumping alone, but in the same proportion of those that have seen no permanent results. Personally, I pumped for six months as my only form of girth-work and did not see any girth gains at all. Saying that, the last time I did gain girth (around a year ago), it was from an intense combination effort - Clamping with squeezes and Ulis, followed by KITJ (my own type of jelqing), followed by pumping. My gut says that pumping is beneficial or can “aide” other girth-work, that it can help keep the penis in that extended state following other girth exercises, but that its effort alone is very minimal in comparison to say clamping or high-erection jelqing etc.

Permanent gains from pumping appear to take a lot longer to achieve than the efforts of other forms of PE. So, one has to question whether or not this minimal effort (ability to multi-task) form of PE is still worth it, if the gains are going to be so minimal and spread over such a long period. For myself, I am back on a predominantly girth-focused routine, specifically - clamping while edging and performing Ulis and double-handed squeezes, followed by pumping.

In relation to the topic that was discussed about one’s length in the cylinder while pumping, I have noticed a few very interesting things in this regard.

1. If I perform girth exercises (clamping) prior to pumping, my girth will explode, I will pack the cylinder way quicker and easier than if I had done nothing beforehand. However, one other effect of this is that I would be able to pump nowhere near as long as I would regularly! It feels as though my girth does all of the expansion and packs the tube, leaving little room for length-expansion.

2. If I do not do girth work before pumping I do not come into the above problem as much. Another even more startling observation is that whenever I have hanged or did a manual stretching routine before pumping, a similar effect would occur - namely, I would not pack the cylinder with my pumped girth, but instead I would always be able to pump much further length-ways.

From these two observations, it seems as though pumping mimics or uses your most vulnerable state to expand most, if you are stretching the tunica length-ways or girth-ways, pumping will follow this pattern and keep it in that extended state that it was after having.

So what does that say about girth gains, effective girth routines and so forth? If you are pumping, I think that it is most effective at the end of a routine, particularly a girth-focused routine if that is your aim. Pumping on its own will be less effective than when it is combined/applied with other girth exercises.

Great post kickinthemebs!

For me its also an accelerator. I love to pump in a superset way. Like: Clamp/jelq 5 min, pump 5min, repeat.

The manuals or clamping will weaken the tissues and the pump will fill in where it can maximizing the time the tissue is expanded.
Think about how fluid build up happens. It will also exeberate where the skin is the weakest(mostly behind glans).
With a heavy girth routine followed by pumping I sometimes barely reach my BPEL .

I also like to pump on “rest” days in a moderate way. Its also great on days were you have no motivation for manual work.

A waterpump is also great for warming up or cooling down.

That said there are people who gained by pumping alone. Mostly low pressure/much time pumping it seems.
Pumper forums like newart barely have real gainers. They pump to huge sizes with much edema but they dotn have huge gains after 2 weeks off even after years of pumping.

The multi deminesional, multi angle approach seems the best or gains.

Definitely! I have read a lot of different views and theories about gains with pumping and one that commonly comes up or is referred to is that excessive edema is a hindrance to gains. Since I have started clamping before pumping, girth expansion comes on a lot quicker and I usually have far less edema. However, I have to admit, that this might be because I have changed to water pumping with my air-pump instead of air-pumping. I have been getting far less edema with the water-pumping.

In reference back to the original topic of the thread, I would have to say that if taken on their own, I would recommend clamping ahead of pumping for gains, easily. However, I really enjoy combining the two. I have long gotten bored with jelqing, so pumping is fine while watching some shows or doing my work.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but for gaining girth which is better clamping or pumping? So far Ive seen clamping and planning to do so once I hit a 7.5 bpel or just once I feel that I’m conditioned enough as my girth went down to a steady 4.8 which really sucks.

For a beginner clamp or pump routine what would you recommend? I’m not going to clamp now but I’m just learning about it so when I do start I don’t go in with a blind eye. Thanjsb

Started roughly: 6.3 x 4.4

5/21/2015: 7.2 x 5.3

3/06/2017 (have not done PE for 12+ months) 7 x 5 - 5.1

Clamping killed my EQ - as in no sex for 3 weeks -when I was a newbie. Condition a long time before clamping (or pumping for that matter). Stick with manual for girth as long as possible.

11/20/2011: BPEL: 6", MEG: 4.75" (goal BPEL: ~7", MEG: 5.25")

5/9/12: BPEL: 6.5", MEG 5" (goal BPEL: 7.25", MEG: 5.5")

3/5/13: BPEL: 6.875", MEG 5 5" (max goal BPEL: 7.5", MEG: 5.75")

I clamped and gain huge in about a year, but there was more to my exercises while clamping. I did 3 set of 15 minutes. I consisted of hot wraps and wrapping with an ac bandage afterwards with a short fast wack around the block. A plus was my wife helped me do the intense clamping. Oh! you need to let you cock rest. It is all in my thread. I met my goal and surpassed it. Just another note, be careful what you wish for.

I don’t see how pumping wouldn’t work. I’m going to do some more research in exactly what it does but I’ve owned one before and I used it a few times. Odd thing was my dick swell up to the pumping size but only after a long sex session.

I think in combination with jelqing pumping can work well. Unless that is actually all fluid. Even if not, your hands are your greatest tool

Pmma

Hi. I am new to this website but I’ve been reading a lot of threads for about a year. I have a normal lenght and a girth in the low average. I am considering to have the pmma done. What do you think about it? It seems that here people are skeptical about fillers.

Anyway I found some medical reports about the reliability of pmma.here’s one : http://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/805309

Why use a filler when PE works and is relatively safe?

Started 7.75x5.75

Currently: 9.75bpX6.75eg My Picture Thread

Goal:10.0bpX7.25mseg Building a thicker unit, click by click, pump by pump, jelq by jelq!

Stick with manual/natural pe. Too many risks when you go another route.

Why the need for pumping OR clamping?? I used to one or the other every other day with only 0.1 ish girth gains however since I combined bathmate and clamping in 1 session I’ve gained 0.15 in 2 weeks!! I get great expansion that way tooo

The benefits of pumping or clamping with manual PE

There seems to be a view that pumping or clamping in combination with other manual PE seems to work better than pumping or clamping along. This should not perhaps be surprising.

To start with, lets stick with pumping, as clamping is considerably less safe in general. Having said that, pumping and clamping are more-or-less achieving the same effect, I.e. A pressure difference between the tunica and the surface of the skin, so we can consider them together.

When pumping you are essentially ‘inflating’ your tunica, much like inflating a rubber tyre. Anyone who has inflated a rubber tyre will know that when the pressure is released it will return to *almost* exactly the same dimensions as before inflation. The same is true of the tunica. However, the key word here is *almost*. There will sometimes be some degree of permanent deformation, depending on the elastic properties of the tunica, the pressure difference applied, and the duration of application. I have seen some forum members state that the tunica cannot be permanently stretched like this, using Kevlar as an analogy. This is very misleading. The elastic properties of the tunica are very different to those of tough synthetic polymers like Kevlar for example. Indeed, the tunica is composed mostly of two bio-polymers, elastin (5%) and collagen (95%), woven in such a way as to create a durable sheath. These biopolymers, like other sinews in our bodies, can be stretched and permanently deformed with repeated application of stress.

So what has this got to do with pumping and manual PE exercises? In my view, the main benefit of manual PE like jelqes and ulis is to make the tunica more flexible. I expect they achieve this through warming the tunica, and creating a build-up of fluid within the tunica. All of these effects can be expected to make the tunica more deformable. It is well known that polymers are more flexible when immersed in a solvent or when subject to heat. This is because the solvent (or bodily fluids in the case of the tunica) help to lubricate the sliding of polymer strands over each other, and heat will always make any material more flexible (due to thermal motion and expansion). The forces imparted by jelqes are, however, not that high.

In contrast, pumping mostly creates a stretching force to deform the tunica. It migt also increase the build-up of fluid in the tunica.

So, by themselves, jelques and pumping might not be the optimal growth routine. That is, by themselves jelqes do not apply that much force (compared to pumping) to the tunica, and by itself pumping does not improve the flexibility of the tunica as much as jelqes. But when used together, it seems to me, they are very complimentary. The jelqes make the tunica more deformable, while pumping actually significantly deforms the tunica. With repeated application, I expect this can lead to significant and permanent gains.

Stretches, like hanging, apply the deformation force along the length of the penis to create length gains, while for pumping the force is largely directed radially outwards to create gains in girth.

So it seems to me that combinations of exercises involving jelqes, pumping and stretching are likely to lead to the most rapid gains. They are complimentary.
