Girth theory: Pumping vs. clamping

Well, I’ve tried pumping and I see the difference way back when I was not using it. Got no problem at all too.

Am done with conditioning and after researching for hours, it seems that combining pumping and clamping is a very effective way.

Anyone gained from water-based pump + clamping?

If so, describe your routine and list your gains please

I’ve found gains are much more common from those who clamp versus pump, at least from the research I’ve done here. Though I do enjoy pumping and the temporary gains from it, and the stretch, but I hate the discoloration that lasts for a day after. Is this issue common with clamping too?

I get zero discoloration from pumping. I got quite a bit of discoloration from clamping.

Yes, much more discolouration from clamping than from pumping.

I get discoloration from pumping a lot red and purple perhaps I should stop it or pump less hard ? The more I read in this forum the more confused I get, regular jelqing hurts my EQ so I switched to V jelqing

I appreciate your academic way of approaching this topic. You stated in another post that it is better to comment on personal experience. I think your a 100% correct. Since I don’t think any university has done research on clamping vs pumping in a controlled environment, the results or consequences of any technique is at best, personal. No one can say with any sort of certainty that everyone here is pumping or clamping the same. Thus, comparisons are problematic.

But based on personal experience with pumping, I’m willing to say that permanent gains are possible. When I first started in 2013. I was.. Maybe 5.75” BPEL. It’s hard to say because I don’t have my notes. Then I took a 4 year break. When I started again in 2018, I measured about 6.125”. That’s a .625” difference! Now I can’t say with 100% certainty, but that’s pretty permanent to me. I lost about a .5” in 4 years and maybe in 4 more years I would have gone back down 5.75”. There’s no way to tell. But I’m happy and surprised with retaining .625” BPEL gain after a 4 year break.

I have not experienced EQ issues. The only issues I have comes with age. I also have no thrombosis issues, and no doughnut issues. I’m very strict on the pressure, keeping the Hg below 5. Safety is paramount to me. I can’t speak about excess skin.. But I’m not sure it’ll be obvious if I did have some since I turtle.

So for ME, pumping is still a viable PE tool.

It’s possible that you are either your sessions are too long and your pressure is too high. I had that issue a long time ago and all I could think about was seeing noticeable gains. But I’ve learned to temper my enthusiasm and keep the pressure less than 5 Hg. No discoloration or dots.

If you can manage to stay hard and force hardness while pumping you most definitely can get the same result as clamping, but higher vacuum than what most people allow themselves to grow into is required. In my opinion anything under 7hg isn’t enough to get results from pumping. To get to 7hg or more of vacuum for more than a minute you have to be experienced and pay attention to what feels right enough to continue and what doesn’t because, it’s a whole other level of awareness, conditioning, and pleasure.

Can I ask you guys when you get blisters from pumping is it on the head like vac hanging? If so is there no way to use protection like you would use tape for hanging?
