Decon Breaks II: When do we need physically to do them?
Hi again, TG here. We’re starting where we left off in Deconditioning (decon) Breaks: How and Why? and elaborating on when exactly you’ll want to do them. Let’s get back to it.
3. When do I need to do a decon break? How long do I have to do it?
Honestly, the reasons for “when” range with your own experience with PE. When I’m coaching, it’s often that I find that guys will do their routines into a rut. They’ll stall their own gains. They’ll get hurt. They’ll get frustrated. Then they’ll PM me after they’ve already gone through the hard steps with no help. (Which while it makes for a funny story just makes it harder to pick up the pieces *laughs*.) Each of those phases basically looks like what I have listed below:
Injury- Basically, you got hurt. Most of the injuries I’ve seen and heard of in PE can be rested through. That being said, some will take you out of commission a day, a week…a month or several months. Full recovery is integral to both successful gains and a functional penis. Do not put successful gains over the function of your penis. It’s a poor choice that will not be one you can easily fix. Decon will start to happen after a week or so, definitely a factor after a month or more when you make your return to PE. While recovering from an injury may not have your intention to decon you need to factor that in while you are away from Penis Enlargement so that your return doesn’t lead to another injury simply because you forgot that you are less physically able to withstand the same amount of trauma and stimuli that you were using when you stopped PE. If you were doing a heavy or high intensity routine when you took a month off, ease back into it or you’ll take time off because you’re hurt.
Basically, the length of this decon period will vary on having fully recovered. We here at Thunder’s advertise the return of nocturnal erections, morning wood, no tingly sensations, no redness or bleeding, no soreness and easily achievable (as is your normal) erections. That amount of time in my opinion is going to be a 2 week minimum but no maximum. Do not rush it. That is the main rule. Unless you like injury decon. In that case, knock yourself out. *chuckles*
Stalled gains/Plateaus- This is the second most common reason to decondition. You were chugging along, may have seen some gains from 1/8” on up to the legendary 1”+ range…now you’ve been at it 3 months and you’re not sure if you’re at the same place, backsliding or just burning the ruler in half with the heat from squinting at it like Superman demanding answers. The good news is…stalled gains means you have a good reason to rest. The bad news means you’ll probably be off for a while as you try to regroup.
I define “regroup” here as the period in time you are taking off and doing research and asking questions here on Thunder’s and elsewhere about methods and devices you haven’t tried so you can chart your next action in Penis Enlargement to reach your goals. Regrouping is important because often, gaining the best means having the most varied history of things you’ve tried to find the best tools for you to reach your goals. Personally, I’ve spent over $8000 on devices and services in the last 7 years and that’s only gotten higher and while I have a lot of devices I’m getting rid of and gathering dust…I found a few things that were worth their weight in gold to me (The pun is certainly not lost on me or my avatar. *smirks*) at least for a while and that is really what counted.
Stalled gains and Plateaus are tricky because it’s sometimes unclear as to why they stall. Minor injury that you can’t feel is common and until it flares up and becomes painful or debilitating we work through it. Simply exhausting your current method is VERY common and this is the main reason I personally find for gains to stall and the best reason to decon. If you are on a budget or you only like one device or type of exercise I recommend frequent decon. Why?
Using one exercise/device means you are only having one type of trauma to respond to. So your body will be constantly evolving to stop it from being effective. Trauma is still an injury and that is something the body simply doesn’t like. The simple statement is your penis does not approve of PE.
So you will have a limited window in which your one device or exercise will be effective. Then, you have to take a long break so that your body has stopped in the cycle to defeat your method. If your body hasn’t been fighting your ability to use the exercise or device in a couple months, that means that exercise and device will be effective again for a while. Your penis will toughen along the typical trauma pattern your exercise/device will create in your penis. So resting for a long period will lower your penis’ defenses to that stimuli and give it a chance to create new trauma and possibly new gains. The definition of a “limited” window will vary from person to person. Some folks only see usefulness from 2 to 4 weeks of a particular method. Some up to 6 months or more. Eventually, gains taper off and after they taper off it’s better to rest than to fight the body on the topic. As when you’re fully rested and come back, your penis is not ready to fend off this fresh assault and you’ll get more accomplished towards your goals.
Also, please be aware that stalled gains can become losses if you ramp up your routine as a response to gains stopping in order to break through a plateau.
Your penis basically does not like being tugged on (or whatever other trauma you’re using) in short, so it may start retracting or your erection quality may lower and this will lessen your size and put a real damper on your day for some time to come. I cover this many times when people send me messages and it bears stating here as well.
The natural place that decon has in the order of things is to end a cycle simply to refresh your routine and give your body an extended chance to heal for a week or so usually. The length of deconditioning for ending a cycle depends on how long you’ve been at PE, what type of exercise/device you were using, and how long you were at this particular method for this series in time. Some examples for basic cycle ending is a 6 weeks on, 1 week off cycle and after several cycles of 6 weeks instead of taking 1 week off you take 1 month off.
These same guidelines are good for stalled gains as well in the same time-frames though being a bit more generous with the time off you take may be necessary the further along in PE that you’ve come and the longer you’ve been at it.
I recommend the 6 weeks on, 1 week off series for most manual exercises and stretch oriented routines.
I recommend 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off for things like pumping and clamping. Though you may need more off time than 2 weeks if you have a lot of experience or have been doing exceptionally heavy sets or high intensity or durations.
In this context, really you’ll know your body best. These are just guidelines for cycling normally or if you’re seeing stalled gains. However, returning too soon will leave you where you left off. That usually will defeat the purpose of having rested at all.
