Decon breaks - The DOs and DON'Ts

When you guys take a decon break, what are some things you do and what are some things you don’t do. For example, do you still masturbate when you are on a decon? Do you watch porn and edge? Do you do things like fowfers or piss pulls or very light stretching?

I would have to assume that masturbation is fine, my last decon break I still had sex all the time and it felt fine. As for stretching I feel that it is important to still have some going on as you do not want your ligaments and tunica to toughen up from a break. Then again, after a long break your ligaments and tunica may become less though, but there are many threads talking about all of that as you many already know.

Search for it, I know I have read a few posts about this.

I just came off of a month decon. I did masturbate/edge/balloon. But no stretching, jelquing, or any other PE move.

For what it is worth, before the decon I had a sense that I was about to gain, but needed time off to do so. I had been seeing inconsistent numbers on the ruler - somedays an extra 1/16, or an 1/8 or nothing extra at all.

At the end of the decon things had solidified to 1/8” gain. My intuition tells me this is a case of:

time off + edge/ballooning = solidifying/cementing

Just something I feel, your mileage may vary. Some guys seem to find edging more stressful than a PE workout.

He Shy, I think that the point of a decon break is to lay off PE and return to your ” normal ” life. It is good not only to decondition your penis but also your mind.

I intended to do 2 weeks. But then it stretched into three. And then I thought I may as well do a full month. Like Chicken says, a return to “normal” life and reconditioning the mind was pretty good for me!

I don’t think it was too much. I do feel deconditioned. My routine has always been much lighter than the “standard” thunder’s newbie routine. I am going to up my jelq number every other workout now for a month and see what happens.

The thing is though, my PE’ing has always been a little haphazard — extra days off when I felt like it, missed workouts when family comes to visit, no PE on trips out of town etc.

When I think back on it, I sort of think that the haphazardness actually helped me. Maybe by building in “mini-decons” so that I never really got totally conditioned.

I only stop doing PE, I still kegel and do other things.

Yes, my newbie gains were pretty quick, up from 5.5 to 6.5 in the first six months, and if you read my history you’ll notice a distinct pattern of laziness and inconsistency during that time. Then life intervened and laziness became absence. When I came back a few weeks ago I measured again and had another .25” gain. Lots of people here claim your real gains come during decon, so I probably picked up that last little bit at the beginning of my long break.

I really think that I am accidentally on to something here though: at least for me, it seems that less can be more. I think the abundant healing time and never over-exercising is what actually works for me. My routine is really the lack of one, if that makes any sense. Of course, I can’t compare it to a strict and consistent routine because I never had one, so maybe I’m just shortchanging myself. At any rate, I’m going to continue in this fashion until it no longer works, then I’ll try something else.

Decon is a relative term for me: it means a time when I don’t really think about PE or do anything with any intent. That being said, I’ve always been a frequent masturbater, and now Edging and Ballooning are just part of that. Sometimes I use porn, sometimes I don’t, but it seems I’m always doing those things. I pull on my penis basically anytime I can see it or get my hands on it, but not enough to be considered stretching. Fowfering has also become habitual, so I do these sort of things all along as well, but never enough to constitute exercise and never for the purpose of PE. I would occasionally clamp, but just for the pleasure of it and again not enough to be considered exercise (like 1 10 minute session every few weeks).

PE for me is when I stretch and Jelq with the purpose of “working out” for PE. Sometimes the routines are intense and focused, sometimes they are not. This is what I do not do during decon. Even my decon breaks tend to be accidental.

Guys how do you know when it’s time for decon? Is 3 days long enough of a decon?

I’ve been doing some v stretches and manual stretches, jelqes and ULIs but I’m not feeling the benefits anymore and my penis is getting numb. I tried cutting off the ULIs and v stretches but still no effect and I’m experiencing numbness at times. I think it’s time for a decon but the though of my penis getting smaller after a decon bugs me. Any suggestions guys?
