Standing vs. sitting

Standing vs. sitting

I have been measuring sitting down ever since the beginning of my PE journey. Just a few days ago, I have decided to measure standing up. I realized that the measurement standing up (both BPEL & NBPEL) is less than the sitting down. However, BFL/FL is identical.

What is the reason behind that, would standing be more accurate than sitting or vice versa?

Since the point of measuring is for tracking gains (so you know when to adjust your routine), then the only thing you need to worry about is doing it the same way every time.

I think it is due to the fact that the pelvis it tilted backwards when you are measuring while sitting. This will increase measurements by moving the pubic back relative to the base, as it is now tilted…

Oh I see..cool thanks!

I just ran into this problem today myself. I have measured standing since I started PE(Sept ‘08) and decided to measure sitting today. I noticed a full 1/4 inch difference in NBPEL. It sure makes me want to have sex in the sitting position more often.

I guess I never thought that it would affect NBPEL but I guess it does. If the pubic bone moves back relative to the base then it makes since.
