As I saw in some movie explaining the jelq move, the guy would continue the jelq till well over his glance (or head, for that matter). However, I remember reading somewhere else that you should actually stop our jelq the moment your hand reaches the jelq. So my question is basically, when to stop?

I usually ease off of my jelq grip when my hand is approaching my glans. Don’t jelq too tight.

I’ve been stopping at the part where the head meets the shaft. But I’m a newb so hopefully a vet can better answer this question!
That guy must be an experienced one that knows exactly (has developed a reflex) when to loose the grip as to not stroke the glans. His hand slides on the glans, he doesn’t jelq the glans.
Stop with the pressure a little before reaching the glans. If you are trying to keep up a smooth, continuous jelq stroke, you can let your hand slide over the glans; just don’t use any pressure.

The important thing with jelqing is that you feel a ‘wave’ of blood expanding the tissues above the jelqing hand.
Someone once described jelqing as imagining a stick dipped in runny honey, and using the hand to ‘squeegee’ the honey off the stick. I liked that description.
Too tight a grip will create excessive pressure above the jelqing hand, which will cause either red spots if it is minor, or an injury if it is excessive.

I’ve seen the same clip. I found it painful so I started releasing my grip before the head. Don’t know if it matters but jelqing is easier this way. I still have to find the right grip though.
