Benefits of stretching

Hello,

I’m not sure what the purpose of stretching is. Is stretching a PE exercise itself or is it more a warmup exercise?

It seems there are many people who stretch for >20 minutes here. I am following DLD’s newbie routine and it has only the following: 3 sets of stretches to the right, straight down, left, and up held for 30 seconds each. Definitely not a heavy stretching routine so I’m curious as to how important stretching really is.

Stretching is mainly for length and it is a legitimate PE exercise.

PC Flex’s and Jelqing @ the same time..

1- warm up
2- stretch 6 way, all stretches are with very hard pull (done in 6-7 reps)
Hold for 20-30 seconds each.

A- out
B- up
C- down
D- Lazy ass stretch
E- right
D- left

Jelq
3- PC flex
4- grip (o.k)
5- pull away from body very slowly hand over hand (1 set of 100)
6- rest for a min. Or two
7- repeat 3-6 until 300 reps are complete
8- repeat 2- a-d
9- warm down

I stretch every day and everytime I pee.

From behind reach between your legs and grab your unit and pull straight back towards the crack of your ass, I also will pull it back and sit on it for a while, like when I’m watching TV or on the PC.

If you are a newbie please get some time under your belt before you try my routine, I hurt myself when I first started and I don’t want anybody to make the same mistake by going too fast.

I read somewhere that the most important is the total time spent on stretching in a day, the article said some experiment was done by stretching the legs, one leg stretched less rep longer time, while the other more reps less time, but total time for the stretching on each leg is the same in one day, the result is both legs extend equally.

I hold my stretch 3-4 minutes each direction but only 1 rep, so if you hold 30 secs stretch, better do it 6-8 reps.
