My LA Pump Broke

My LA Pump Broke

Yesterday, when I started pumping, I noticed that the pressure did not stay. I would pump up to about 2 or 3 HG and leave it there for a few seconds. Then I noticed the pressure would drop back to 1 HG and then to 0. I could also feel the pressure leaving the cylinder and watch my penis slowly shrink back down. I know I am getting a good seal. I even shaved again to make sure. I have only used the pump for 2 weeks and it worked perfectly. I am doing nothing different, but all of a sudden the pressure won’t stay. Is it broken or is there something I could be doing wrong?

This is a brass pump, right?

The quick disconnect on the top of the tube came loose on me 2x’s. Try that. If that isnt it, pull of your hose off the pump and put your finger over the hole, if it pumps and hold pressure, its your hose, if not, its your pump. Good luck.

BTW, the fitting on top of the tube, just snug up. If you overtighten it, the threads might strip.

In addition to the O-ring on the female connector, wrap the threads with plumbers Teflon tape and then screw it in for a leak proof seal.

Also make sure the male connector fully clicks in to the female connector.

I doubt your pump is broken.

I disconnected the pump form the cylinder and put my finger over the small hole of the pump and was able to pump and hold pressure with it. This means it must be my cylinder. It seems like every thing is snug when I connect the two however. What did you mean, gprent, when you said wrap the O-ring and threads with tape. Is this the part of the pump that screws into the cylinder? Air must be leaking through the top where the cylinder connects to the pump even though I don’t see how this would be possible.

Plumbers Teflon tape prevents leaks on threaded fittings. Take out the female connector and wrap the threads about 3 times around with plumbers Teflon tape and screw it back in. You can find the Teflon tape at Home Depot or Walmart.
