terrible bruising from captain's wench.

Ive been hanging for a month with the captain’s wench and my gains are amazing. .25 EL in a month. I do 4 to 5 15 minute holds. 4 times a week. 7.5 lbs

That being said bruising has been horrible. I havent been concerned though because the bruises do heal eventually and ive been gaining really well.

The bruises are large and dark, but like i said they do always eventually go away.

Also my eq is the best its ever been. Amazing eq.

So I am assuming the bruises are are occurring where you attach the captain’s wench, correct?

Try tightening it less and seeing if it can still stay on with 7.5 lbs.

A more common mistake I have seen is men tightening a compression style hanger more then they need to. A hanger doesn’t have to be tightened as much for 5 lbs as it does for 15 lbs.

You should also press the head (or whatever is in front of the hanger) for a while before tightening.

I cant go any looser or the rig will slip off. Anything else i can do? Should i ignore the bruising?

I personally had light bruising with the cap in the beginning but after a month or so it stopped.
