So I made a Captains Wench.

Hey everyone!

As the title says I went out and bought all the materials to make the Captains Wench. After I completed the construction I was so excited to try out my first ADS. I wrapped up and started pulling. That’s where my excitement ended. Not only was it very uncomfortable but it kept sliding off. Now, I think I have followed the instructions to the last detail but it just doesn’t work. So for anyone with experience with this device my question is this, did you have the same problems when you first started using it? If so, how did you overcome this issue? Or does anyone have any suggestions on an ADS device that is easier to use and/or more comfortable?

I don’t mean to disrespect the Captains Wench whatsoever. I think the idea is great and I really want to learn how to use it properly. But it did frustrate the hell out of me for the last two hours while I tried to get it working. Anyways, thanks in advance guys for any help or suggestions you may have to offer. Keep on working hard to reach your goals.

Are you using a wrap? You have to use a wrap.

I use a captains’ wench, it took me a while to find a comfortable wrap that would stay on.

You definitely need just a little bit of wrap. Coating your grippers with a light layer of silicone helps big time with the grip. Lastly, it really takes a lot of breaking in to use a wench as an ads.

Honestly, if your not hanging with the wench it may take a lot of use to get a tight grip. If your only using it as an ads you could try continuously wrapping it around a broom handle or something. It also helps to use a cable tie, or something along those lines just to grip the penis better

I had the same trouble, so I started wrapping my shaft with some stretchy, self-adhesive athletic tape. The Wench stayed on a lot better. I’d wrap one or two of these on the outside of the Wench and that would hold it into place.

I ended up giving up the Wench, however, and getting two of these:

They’re comfortable and I’ve NEVER had either slip off. And I didn’t pay that much - I won one for $8 and one for $15.

Are you using a clamp around the wench? After you wrap put the device on and cinch it down. I then put a cable clamp around it to keep it from slipping. These are available about everywhere and inexpensive.

I have a very similar device to this and it turns out you can’t apply very much tension at all without causing blistering and/or pinching pain to the tip of the glans. Those silicon sleeves are fantastic for anti-turtle purposes, and do serve well as a gentle ADS, but can’t compete with manual stretching, or even fowfering as far as the amount of pull you can comfortably apply.

I use and love it. I have bib hanger as well but can’t seem to get that right. Always to much discoloration. What’s important and have found it to be better in the case of Wench is to use the turn-key clamp instead of the cable clamp (wench clamp)

I use mine 4-5 times a week, aiming for 10 hours. Sometimes the skin gets pinched and I end up taking it off, but now that I have the tension adjusted right, I rarely have any kind of red marks or anything, and I use DMSO or MSM to help that heal up faster.

My routine is to do 50-100 jelqs in the shower, then apply the ADS. It doesn’t have a lot of tension, but that’s the point - slow and steady wins the race. Until I measured myself this week, I wasn’t sure if I was getting anywhere, but I’ve gained a half inch using the ADS, so I’m sold.

I also do this: right leg one day, left leg the next, then I attach the cable to my belt on the right leg and stretch it up and to the right, then switch it the next time so it’s stretched up and to the left. I figure stratching from all angles will ensure that some ligaments don’t get all the effect.

If you use enough tension to cause blistering, you’re using too much. I know some guys use micropore tape to prevent the blistering, but part of me thinks that overdoing it will actually slow progress. So I’ll continue using my routine. I hope to hit 8” by Christmas.

On a side note, while I’ve been curious to know if my wife can tell the difference, I’m going to wait until she tells me without asking. That will be a cool day.

Bro, I made me CW today and just finished hanging 10 pounds for 3 sets of 20 minutes. It felt great, started to fatigue at the end of set 3. As mentioned by the previous posters, you must wrap. I wrap me dick in gauze, then theraband, as suggested by other threads/posts. No slippage, no pain. It’s like me dick was made for the CW. Or maybe the CW was made for me dick. Anyways, it feels great. I suggest a solid wrap, then give it another go.

Why doesn’t Chappelle come back? He’s a damn genius if you ask me.
