Intervals between Bib Hanger sets- 10 minutes mandatory?!

Just wondering on the amount of time needed in between hanging sets. I don’t want to lose any potential gains by waiting too long in between each hang set. So I am asking- is it okay to take longer than 10 minutes in between each hanging set?

I’m so happy that I am finally able to start using my bib hanger- now I just need to find this kind of free time at least 4 other days a week.

At least 10 minutes per 20 minute set.

If you can only do 5 or 10 minute sets right now you can shorten the rest time to 5 minutes.
The important thing to remember is to restore full circulation to your entire penis.

So if I rested for more than 10 minutes, would that do more harm than good?

I undersatand what you are getting at.
You’re concerned about losing the benefit of the stretch/tears by resting too long.

You don’t want to wait too long between sets where you are cooling down and starting to heal.
I time my rest exactly to ten minutes after a 20 minute set.
The first thing I do after a set is take off my wrap and restore circulation. I jelq for about a minute with some Vitamin E or Aloe Gel. Then I wait. While waiting I will sit in my chair with the heating pad on my pelvic region and do some stretches or Blasters or kegels.

I’ve got some hanging questions for ya. I just made the Captain’s wrench about 2 wks ago (love this hanger) and been hanging 2 on 1 off since making it. I’m now up to 7.5 lbs~3- 20 min sets, using heat on all sets. But when I hang, the head always fills back up with blood, even after squeezing it from the head. Looks like it’s gonna explode. Is that just normal? Is there any way around it, or just something we deal with while hanging? It makes me worry about going uo to higher weights, say, 10-15 lbs.

Another thing, I milk for around 15 min after hanging is finished, wash up, then put on an ADS for 1 hour to stay extended, good so far, right? I’ve hung in the past but never actually gained a lick from all that hanging, stretching and jelking but trying to give it another shot, maybe 2 mths with this new hanger (Captain’s wrench).

I’ve also been staying stretched out pretty much all day, every day, with my ads, I’m bout living with this thing on :-) . Anyway, I’m a little confused on just how much time I need to put into stretching with the ads.

Some folks here say the more the better for length gains. I currently stretch (ads) about 6- 8 hrs p/d with no days off really. I figure the more I stay elongated and heal that way, the better.. especially after heavy hanging, would you agree/disagree?

But then I do know the penis, like the body, requires rest some time, but, exactly how much time is what I can’t figure out.

Thanks for any help, wanted to ask a fellow hanger to try and clear up some things.

Ineed9, I think you are basically resting when you do light ads. But you rest in an elongated position. So the more ads the better.

Thanks for your reply. I agree, light ads is probably the right direction for sure. Flaccid hang has not disappeared yet so I take it as a good sign.I’ll take a measurement at 1 month to confirm this. Hope I can cement any gains that come my way. I’m also looking into golf type light weights at peweights.com.

Golf weights are great. But don’t you have to be standing for them to work good. And you can’t wear them out in public can you? Seems like it would be noticeable. And you have to take it off to piss. I like to put on my captains wench and lay down and watch TV.

What might be a good idea is a use a small captains wench to keep the weights on. Just put your weights on then strap on the wench. That way you can leave it on for hours.

Peweights.com is a good site I might try some golf weights too.

Yes, I suspect they are pretty noticeable under regular clothing. I don’t have the balls to try wearing them out in public :-) . But I’m able to work at the house in my woodworking shop all day so the peweights would work great I think. I stand most of the day anyway so I need to take advantage of that time.

That’s a really good idea you have about a small Captain’s wrench, I’m thinking a “mini wrench” would be perfect. I need to do a search on that, somebody has problably already made one.

I use my Cap’s wrench at night too while watching the tube, works great dosen’t it! I could use the golf weights during the day and the wrench at night, just stay hung 24/7.

Yes, for the small price of the Peweights I think I’ll definately go for it. Sounds like a great plan to me. Maybe 3- 4 of those little suckers should do the trick.

No, not normal. Not good. But, it also depends how far into the set this is happening. If the glans starts to fill up with up blood after the 15 minute mark, that isn’t so bad. But if it is happening in the first few minutes and gets worse as the set goes on it is not good. It’s bad for the penis and takes away the effectiveness of hanging.

After you squeeze the blood out of the head and then tighten the clamps, the only way the head fills back up is if you are not tightening the hanger enough.
Remeber: loose wrap, tight hanger.
Don’t be afraid to tighten those clamps up. If you’re wrap is on correctly, snug but not too tight to cut off circulation, you can tighten that hanger real tight.

That’s pretty much what I do.
How many sets are you getting in per hanging day?

My opinion, I would spend more time putting in more sets of hanging. I think of ADS and occasional stretching as supplemental exercises that compliment my primary mode of PE which is hanging.
I use the ADS after hanging until I’m cooled down (about 1 hour) and stretch occasionally to keep the torn fibers from healing in a retracted state.

As far as rest is concerned, I believe too much rest from hanging is detrimental to gains.
Remember, you want to achieve fatigue and then ride that fatigue out as long as you can.
Ideally, on a 5 on/2 off schedule, you want to feel fatigue on day 1 and maintain it for the remainding 4 days.

Ok, I’ll try and take these in order.

I’m putting on the wrap just snug, mid shaft and not too tight. I found the medium size cable clamp too small for the wrench so I’m using a large cable clamp instead. I put 2 strips of the rough velcro on the insides of the clamp to compensate, I can click to almost the last catch on the clamp. But Ok, I’ll try going for the very last catch, that will be a very tight fit but will try it.

Question, after putting on the hanger but before tightening the clamp, I should then squeeze the blood from the head…correct?

I have noticed that the wrench, while pretty tight already, does seem to slip forward somewhat toward the head, even though I’m getting the internals, there may be some slippage, another click should stop that.

Yes, the head fills up way before the 15 min mark, maybe 5- 7 mins into a set. If I squeeze the blood and go for another click that should fix it.
Thanks for pointing out a time frame on the blood/head pressure part, now I know better how to stop it.

I’m hanging on an 2 on/ 1 off schedule. Doing 3- 20 min sets p/d. That puts me hanging 5 out of 7 days a week. Currently hanging 7.5 lbs 1st and 2nd set, then, dropping to 6 lbs for the 3rd set to ride out the fatique. I think that’s the correct way to do it..right/wrong? Then the ads for 1 hr.

I also use heat, all 3 sets. I think it helps keep the ligs and tissue loose. Is all 3 sets of heat good or not?

I don’t understand, using a 5 on/2 off schedule how do you maintain the fatique for the remaining 4 days? I usually hang in the afternoons and do feel fatique into the 2nd set, it continues until the ads comes off later in the evening. But how do you maintain that fatique from one day to the next?

Here’s what I’ve been doing, I’d like you’re opinion on it please.
Since due to my work schedule and hanging in the afternoon’s here is what I do to keep the ligs stretched and my unit fatiqued in the mean time.

First thing in the morning I put on my ads, I mean first thing, sometimes before drinking any coffee, that’s pretty dedicated..huh.

Anyway, I wear it for 1 hr, then, remove it for 1 hr, and alternate this way thruout the day and into the night. This provides a light 2-3 lb stretch. I’ve been at this for almost 2 weeks. Question though, is this neccessary to get real gains? My flaccid hang is much improved due to this type stretching so, I figure it must be doing the trick. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Another thing, I’m hanging SD but feel no lig soreness from hanging the next day as others have said?? Probably the skin is sharing the load but absolutely no soreness. I should be feeling that but I don’t.. any ideas?

What kind of wrap are you using?
Is it Theraband? If yes, what size strip is it?

Vega suggested a smaller version of the Wench. That may help you. You could then use the medium size clamp and have a better range of tightness and a better fit.
But I also need to know about your wrap.

Yes, and I usually give the head a final squeeze before the final tightening.
And remember, it is necessary to tighten your Wench (or Bib) a little more after a minute into the set.
That is very important in preventing slippage due to the narrowing of the shaft after being stretched from the weight.
Just take the wieght off of the hook with one hand, and with the other hand give the head another squeeze and tighten the hanger a little bit more.

Right. This is the part where it is all about the “feel”. You have to use your best judgement to decide what the best weight for you to use and when to drop down in weight. You should also realize this varies from day to day. For now, you’re main concern should be addressing the wrap/tightness issue. Because without comfort, you’re hanging career will be miserable and unproductive.

I definitely believe in the use of heat for all the sets. On my last set, I turn off the heating pad at the start of the set but still lay it on top while it is still warm. Don’t forget to do a good warm up before you start hanging.
Get your entire pubic region very warm and do some light stretches for a minute or two.

Well, you know you’re “riding” fatigue when it does not take as much weight and/or time to feel fatigue on your next hanging day. You want to interrupt the healing process as much as possible.
Wearing the ADS like you do is very good for doing just that. But like I said before, I believe hanging is where you’re going to make the real progress, and the ADS is just insurance or an aid.
CaptnHook believes traction wrapping after hanging is very beneficial to aiding hanging gains as well.

Currently, I am hanging 15-21lbs BTC for a 7-8 sets/day. It is very rare if I feel any lig soreness an hour after
my hanging session is done. I guess everyone is different.

I’m using Ace flexible bandage (the soft stretchy stuff), 1.5” wide and about 18” long. Over that I’m ussing Coach brand self grip, also stretchy type and about the same size. I have a strip of Theraband (same size) and tried it before but never really liked it that much. It seemed to move around a lot and a little tough to keep centered over a wrap, but if that’s what it takes, or works better, then I’m all for it! Perhaps I could use it over the Ace bandage..good idea? It might be the Ace is moving or slipping some when weights applied..I’ll check it out.

Yea, I don’t get it either, I made the wrench exactly to the Captain’s instructions (size wise). I said he can get 3 clicks around the wrench using the medium clamp. I tried the medium and it would just barely go around the hanger, that’s when I decided to use the large instead. I must have a little larger girth or something so I starting using the 2 wraps to make the large clamp workout. This size wrench seems to be a good fit though, very comfortable to use.

Ok, I’ll use your instructions on tightening the hanger after the weight is applied. I haven’t been doing that (going another click) after the shaft becomes narrow. That is definately some of my problem! Now it makes more sense.

Question, how much forward movement should there be on the hanger, on the shaft actually, after the hanger and weight are applied? Very little I presume??
I’m asking because my hanger seems to move forward maybe .5”- .75” forward with the weight on. I’m thinking that If the hanger is clamped on tight to the internal structures then there maybe “0” forward movement..except for the whole penis moving forward, If that makes sense.

I would like to hang more in a day but just don’t have the time. That’s why I rely on the ads trying to stay extended. I’ll try more hanging time If I can.

Yes, I agree. Guess everyone is different, soreness or not I think it’s working well. I will work on the hanger to make it better and use the Theraband.

I’m surprised to hear that Theraband was moving around on you.
For me, it gives a great grip.
In the beginning, I was using the two-wrap procedure - sweatshirt material & Theraband.
But it made the wrap too thick and the hanger grip was lousy and my circulation suffered because of it.
Now I only use a single strip of Theraband - 1 3/4”W X 22”L.

Since you use so much wrap, you need the bigger clamp.
Too much wrap will definitely affect circulation and slippage.

“Forward movement under a load” -
That’s completely normal and should be expected. It will vary depending on the amount of weight you use.
Skin is going to slide no matter how tight the hanger is. Just make sure you are attaching the hanger
at least an inch behind the glans and the shoulders of the head are supporting the majority of the weight -
not riding over the head.
Don’t worry if a little skin is riding over the head. But don’t let the wrap and a lot of shaft skin ride over the head.

When we use the word “slippage” or “slipping” we mean the hanger is not gripping the penis enough and is sliding down towards the head; resulting in the “indian sunburn” effect. It doesn’t mean the pulling down of the shaft skin when the weight is applied. That is normal. Check out the pics by Para Goomba and others with
their hangers on.

Most of us are in the same boat for free time for PE. Unfortunatlely, hanging is extremely time consuming.
Your use of the ADS is a good idea and should be beneficial to your gains.

Hard to say. But whether or not you are, it still means you have to gradual work up to heavier weight
a little at a time.

I’ve been cursed with strong/tough ligs AND sensitive skin. My (minimal) gains started at 10lbs. BTC. By the time I was 12 lbs. I could really feel the lig stretch.
Don’t rush the weight increase, you’ll end up frustrated and you’ll risk injury. Continue to condition your unit
and learn to hang as comfortably as you can.

Have you tried BTC yet? It’a big difference from SD.

I think you hit the nail on the head regarding wrapping. I do suffer from “indian sunburn”, no doubt due to the 2 wrap procedure creating “slippage”. When I finish a set and remove the wraps my skin is red and sore to the touch, after a little massaging it does it better. I will try the Theraband by itself and will try using the medium size clamp again. Less wrap might decrease the size of the hanger some, I hope it’s enough. Or will make a smaller version.

BTW, there is a difference between the 2 clamp sizes in that the teeth are bigger and further apart on the large model, so the medium would be much better with smaller teeth, can get more clicks than with the bigger one.

Yes, I attach the hanger at least 1” from the head. The weight does slide some but always stops on the shoulders of the head., actually I can see the head sticking out in front of the hanger thruout a set, so I feel good about that and on the right track where that’s concerned :-) .

Ok, on working up in weight. This is something I know I’ll need to do but won’t push it for now as you suggest. For now, I feel like I’m getting a very good stretch and can see it visibly after a set is done. My unit is hanging nice and long and actually it appears the girth is bigger, maybe from the daily jelking afterward or from hanging itself. Either way, it’s a nice byproduct!

While I’m thinking of it, there is one other thing I’d like to address and that is, when a set is finished, there is always a bulge on the right side of my unit, never the left side and it’s just ahead of the hanger ( the right side gripper if looking down). It’s in the skin and I take this to possibly be due to slippage..hanger/wrapping? Would you say so? Do you get anything like that?

I know exactly what you mean about tough/strong ligs! I’ve hung in the past, or tried to do what I thought was hanging, and my unit would just sit there day after day not changing for me. But now I feel I’ve got a really good reliable hanger, seeing positive results from my efforts thus far so It really makes me want to keep going strong.

I’ve read threads where it’s said to only move up in weight when you feel your current weight is no longer working, I agree with that. One day I’ll be up to 10- 12 lbs and working those ligs and tissue.

No, I’ve never tried BTC. I’m set up to hang, with my workout bench and pully system attached to the wall, either SO, (SD..I lay back/down on the bench) or OTS. I certainly do need to give BTC a go though, I will try to rig something up for that.

But before I do anything else I need to get my wrapping and hanger up to par. That’s my big problem right now. Like you said, I can never go up in weight and hang without injury or comfortably without it.. that’s the first step, then try hanging BTC to really stretch those ligs out.
