As the title states fellas. How does one know?

When your no longer gaining with other exercises. Hanging is a very restrictive exercise. When you start to hang you have to be ready to stay home for a few hours. After a few months of manual exercises you should be conditioned enough to hang though.

I tried hanging for a while. I never really got on with it. I guess you are ready when you have read so much about hanging that you no longer have to ask if you are ready for it. :) Other than that, follow jb’s advice. Start light and watch out for numbness in the glans.

You also need to consider if you have the necessary daily time and the proper perspective in terms of reaching your gains.

6 months of consistent hanging is a minimum. Probably 12 months. 5 days a week minimum. 7 days a week being ideal.

1 hour per day will probably not be enough. Remember that wrapping, warming up, pauses, etc, needs to be done as well. There is a BIG difference between actual hanging time and time spent hanging.

Bottom line; hanging does work, but it demands a lot from you. It`s not easy. If you can get gains by manual work, do so.

I was wondering if I should continue with hanging, as I have been hanging for about the last two months, have gained maybe a fifth of an inch so far and a noticeable base girth. However I will probably have to stop hanging in about five months as I will be starting college. I wonder if I should stick with manual work now or switch back later. I am tempted to make the most of the amazing amount of privacy I get at home and hence started with hanging, but I am afraid that I will condition myself from manual exercises in the future. I am currently still hanging at about 5lbs.

When you move to manual stretching again, you will probably be using quite a bit more force, but for shorter duration, so you should be fine - the fairly light hanging won’t have over conditioned you. You could always schedule a decon break for the first few weeks of college and focus on making some new friends instead of hiding away in your room. :)

As firegoat says, you can have a deconditioning break.

If you can continue hanging for 5 more months I would do it. Consider the first two months a learning phase. It is probably now you will start gaining for real, provided that you keep reaching fatigue (raising weight if you have to).

I would say when you have the time to dedicate to it. Hanging takes a lot of time and unless you’re willing to dedicate the time then your waisting your time.

That said, it does work and works well.

I think I will stick with hanging for the next five months as I really do have an abundance of privacy at the moment. Well I am currently still reaching fatigue at this level so I hope that I will not progress too far past my own manual stretching strength. With all due respect, what do we need friends in college for when we’ve got PE!

You will always have your high school friends but the type of friendship you have with them, from growing up together, will be different to ‘adult’ made friendships. The most important thing you will learn at college is how to relate to other guys and girls.

College is a narrow bridge between HS and adult life; walk over it carefully. :)

Enjoy your hanging and privacy for now, and practice those ‘stealth’ techniques for later!

Reasons for a friend in college:
You need a wing man to talk to the ugly chick so you can bang the good looking one.
You need a friend to call you and fake an emergency so you can leave the girls place after you fucked the ugly chick.
You need someone to watch out for the girls boyfriend while your fucking her.
Guys you don’t know are in the friend zone with at least 2 hot chicks so you can capitalize on their situation.
It’s fun running a train on a girl with one of your friends then you pull out a bigger dick and you see the looks on both of their faces.
