No days off

I went on the Matters of Size website a while ago and DLD said he never took days off.

Can taking no days off or less days off help with gains? What is the best schedule for gaining? Can you light jelq on days off?

The reason why I am bringing this all up is because I noticed that my unit gets less spotting the more days I jelq. It seems when I take days off, my unit is more susceptible to spotting.

Could the gains build up better and be more permanent with no or less days off? It seems when I take a day off I shrink back to normal; but I may be wrong about that.

Mr. T, to answer your question, it depends on the person. Most of the time, but not always, tissues repair themselves when we leave them alone, aka rest days.

Some guys do fine without taking them, so I think its up to the person to make that decision for themselves. You don’t want to over do, that can cause an injury. You are still a newbie as far as your join date, I realize you may have been a lurker before that, and you are the best gauge of what is happening to your body. Listen to it.

One or more of the other fellas will probably be along to put their opinions in on whether or not rest days are important and if they are for everyone.

For me sunshine it seems to heal nicely overnight. I am not training my chest after all; thinking out loud.

Days off are good in my opinion, just like anything else, overtraining isnt good.

Guys (and girl), you need to listen to your Negative Indicators, and when you see them you need to take a rest day or days until they improve. DLD is probably a freak of nature and many have accused him of being a fraud on this site, I wouldn’t listen to his advice if I were you, he was kicked out of this forum for being a sellout.

It just makes physiologic sense that in order for tension-induced connective tissue remodeling (either low tension or high intensity with injury - IPR) to effectively result in longer collagen fiber length (increased length/girth) and not increased fiber diameter (stronger; harder to stretch), rest is a must.

I don’t know about DLD. Sometimes when we work it, it turtles the next day and the results are worse from a similar workout. The next day you do the same, and it turtles back even further. At a certain point, you decide to back off and things are well again.

So like King Pole said, it depends on the person.

I just figured because the minor spotting heals overnight my unit must to. I am definitely for the days off though; it just makes better sense to me logically.

Anyways tell me more about this DLD character. I read his story on the matters of size site; it seems for real, but it is kinda nutty.

Rest days for me, I’m all but convinced anything else is crockery, unless you are a genetic fiber building factory overnight.

Mr.T, Pe isn’t exact science. Since we are all different, our bodies react differently - meaning that you maybe don’t have to take days off. I think it was Peter Dick that said he never takes days off; but then again, he is using a routine that is everything but a routine, mixing up exercises almost every day.

Still, if you are on a heavy routine of a lot of girth work with intense exercises, I think that you need days off. But, only you can know. The important thing is to listen to your penis, read it’s signs and act accordingly.
