Other than heat, what causes ligaments to soften? Especially after hanging sessions I feel considerable ligament strain and toughness which prevents further strech? Heat only temporarily eases that strain. What alternatives can we find out there?

I’ve never heard of such a thing. Other than keeping it up and slowly softening the ligs over time with more PEing.

It’d be extremely interesting if there was a chemical/nutrient/whatever you could inject into them to make them softer. Perhaps a mild acid of some kind? (in very small doses of course, you don’t want to eat away the ligs entirely).

Hmmm… I never thought of that before, now I’m a curious cat. Any doctor types care to comment?

In fact I am thinking about a pill solution (though it might not even exist). There are muscle strain reliever pills; I was thinking if there were smaller dose pills for ligaments etc. Or any natural supplement that will do such a thing.

But wouldn’t a pill soften every lig in your body? Of course I have no idea if that’s a good or bad thing, or if it’s even possible…

If we were taking it to that level I’m sure it wouldn’t be a pill.

There are much more safe/effective topical transdermal applications.

Then, start low and slowly increase. Monty has gotten great results under 15-17 lbs…and was under that for a long time.

I think that should probably be plenty for most guys. Try increasing TIME before adding wt!

Once wt gets about about 17 lbs…I think reactive toughening really starts.

If you never really toughen your unit…you won’t need heavy wts.

I think it will turn out that once you get up to about 15 lbs…the smart thing would be to hang longer or take time off and start again at lower wts.

The supplement I’ve been wondering about for several months and am finally writing about out loud is MSM (methylsulfonylmethane). I see a lot of websites talking about how it benefits joint mobility and flexibility, but there doesn’t seem to be much credible research on the stuff. It’s supposed to affect collagen somehow. For PE, I wonder if it would thicken tunica and ligament tissues, and consequently inhibit gains; or if it contributes to the growth or resiliency of tissues, thus perhaps facilitating growth. Is there an actual or amateur biochemist in the house?

For a few weeks, I’ve been using a cream with lots of MSM in it for mastubation and after clamping. Of course, it absorbs quickly so I have to keep reapplying. I’m not sure if there’s any benefits yet, but it’s a great excuse to jerk off — as if I need one.

Sounds like BS to me. If anything, it will not do the job for the ligaments. As I understand it high testosterone is not directly linked to large dicks - or we’d all be over at a bodybuilding forum instead. If you want vasodilators you should read Eroset’s thread “EVO - eroset’s vein oil”. That will be the real thing, and probably incredibly cheaper. But vasodilators will not do the trick for enlarging the dick as such, his oil was for unclotting thrombosed veins. If you read the Sparkyx’s thread “Holy grail of PE is found” there seems to be credit to the idea that a prolonged engorgement - teeteering close to priapism - will do it for you. Might want to read the thread “Ballooning works” (or something like that by werner something).

I have been wondering about the effect of using PABA or Potaba oral supplementation.

It reduces fibrosis in peyronies patients, and is used in skin disorders to make skin more flexible.

Could it also allow greater stretching of tunica and corpus during PE?

Not to burst any bubbles or inhibit thought along this direction, but I really don’t think softening the ligaments or the connective tissues is the answer. Ligaments are tough for a reason—they keep our parts together. If you start messing with your ligaments at a systemic level, I think you’re looking at a greatly increased risk of physical injury.

Take relaxin, for instance. Women experience a peak in relaxin levels at a certain time during their oestrus cycles. Studies have shown (I recall) that female athletes are much more likely to suffer torn ACL’s during this time in their cycles than at other times.

Systemic ligament strength is not something to mess with.

The other proposed solution, topical or transdermal applications, are very likely to act like systemic applications and have very little localized effect. Once a transdermal gets through the skin, it is absorbed into the bloodstream and transported throughout the body. It doesn’t stay where it’s applied.

The exception is that transdermals can have an effect on the skin at the point of contact (consider increased hirsuitism where the androgel patch is applied). I really doubt, however, that they have any localized effect on tissues below the dermis.

The penile ligaments are very deep. The tunica is also several layers down (epidermis, dermis, superficial fascia, buck’s fascia). I doubt that a transdermal could get that far without being absorbed.

Then there’s the question of whether one would want to mess with a transdermal even if it could work on a localized level. Concentration at the tunica or ligs is bound to be spotty and irregular. I can just imagine the result of this sort of thing. Tunicas could bulge like blown out tires. Curves could develop. Tunicas could rupture.

Maybe I’m becoming a pessimist.
