I have ED

My life has turned into a nightmare… I have erectile dysfunction. This is what I notice about my erections. The two side chabers are effectively normal in rigidity, however the lower chamber and also the glans are soft and spongy, my nocturnal erections are of the same low standard. I do not know what has caused this, only that it must in some way be due to my PE efforts, I suspect doing the horse squeezes to hard could be the cause or possibly stretching, or the use of a cock ring post jelq (to tight)… but really these are just guesses. I am naturally optomistic so when I started noticing the symptons around christmas I halted my PE, thinking that I had just overtrained, but over a month later nothing has gotten any better. It is not an exaggeration to say that at times I feel suicidal. I have ended my relationship with my girlfriend, whom I love dearly and whom loves me also, because my anxiety and depression was making her life hell.

I do not know what I hope to achieve by submitting this thread. Perhaps I just needed to write it all down, to accept it’s real- I have been in a certain amount of denial until now. Have any of you guys had similar problems and come through them to once more have a normal erection? Is there anyone who can tell me what might be going on inside my dick?

Help…

It is possible that PE caused your problem. However, the vast majority of PE’ers experience improved erections as a result of PE. My erections at 48 years of age are so hard that I could pound nails. It is hard for me to even jelq fully erect because I can’t squeeze it and get it to compress.

Please do not panic over this situation. Make an appointment with a Urologist. In the meantime, do kegels - lots of them. Strengthening your PC muscle also increases blood flow to your penis. Try to do 4-500 kegels per day. I have a feeling that you will notice a difference in a month or so.

Good luck.

Jelktoid :trash: More meat for the money!

I’d suggest every OTHER day on the kegels. You CAN overdo them too and then you’ll be back at ground zero.

I have a very strong PC muscle- I have been kegelling for many months.

jelqtoid.. I understand what you are saying with regard to PE strengthening your erection. I myself enjoyed this side effect for some months. But it is all about degrees and something beneficial when done to much or to hard can be harmful. Please all note I am not dishing PE- it is quite incredible… However, yes I do believe that i got something wrong in my PE and this has lead to severe side affects.

I have read a bit on ED over the last few days and damage to a vein seems possible- leading to it not being blocked off during erection and blood being able to escape. What do you think?

dongers;

Try not to let this make you crazy because whatever is causing the problem is handleable. At the Men’s Sexual Health Forum I’ve nailed a couple of links to ED sites at the top that may be helpful to you.

Most ED is caused by some physiological problem, usually vascular, relating to something else. There is often a psychological component - especially in what is called Performance Anxiety. After a series of failures, you start worrying you won’t get it up the next time and you don’t and it all becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Since you did PE very aggressively, and this came on relatively suddenly, you may well have stressed your penile tissue or caused some vascular event.

Cock rings are a negative only if the one you wear for a long period of time (hours) is too constricting. The fit should be comfortable, not a choke-hold, and just firm enough to hold some engorgement. Until you get this worked out, stay out of cock rings then later get one that is a better fit for you.

Stillwantmore gave you good advice and I agree with jelktoid that you need to see a urologist. If nothing else, you will probably be reassured by doing that and likely will be given a temporary fix such as Viagra which will get you functional again during the time you are healing. If you do not feel comfortable telling the uro that you did PE, simply say that this started after you had some very robust sex a few times. They hear this all the time because that is also a frequent cause of what you are experiencing.

If you can’t find the info you need, PM or email me and I’ll try to steer you in the right direction.

Meanwhile, try to keep yourself emotionally level because your life is certainly not ruined, as you now seem to think it is.

Pe might have started your problem, but your dick could be fine right now and your mind is fucked

“I feel suicidal. I have ended my relationship with my girlfriend, whom I love dearly and whom loves me also, because my anxiety and depression was making her life hell.”

You need to relax and get your head back on straight see the urologist and maybe talk to someone to help sort out what is going on in your life.

So are you saying that you are having erections? My erections have always been hard all the way around except the underside, where it’s a little bit softer than the rest of my dick. Can you further explain what is happening?

I haven’t done PE in months because of the ED I had that came with it. I couldn’t even get it up for sex or maintain it on my own. My problem was the manual stretching. I tried a just-jelqing routine once that I was able to tolerate, and as soon as I added manual stretching, it came back, and since then, I’ve stopped for good. I bounced back full force in about a month (give or take a week or two) after each struggle with ED. I didn’t do anything. Not even kegels.

Feel free to PM me.

Hi Donger,

PLEASE DONT RUN IN PANIK…

The same is happen to me and in my opinion it is a mix of circunstancies who causes your ED

First you started PEing and that create a lot of stress to your unit and the way it responds is with ED.
You may jelked to hard or too much erected. I am no a vet in PE but since im here i learned that erect jelks applied too much forces to your unit and lets him apear morbid/soft. On the other hand flacid jelking (no more then 40-50%) can not cause in any way a damage (the same for streching)…think about

Secondly is what already has been wrote before, when you notice the ED, begins, i would say a “vicious circle”. You know that something is wrong and than you fear it could happen again next time you have sex, these thougs induce to more ED…etc…

No panik, relax, take time to heal, eat well and you will see that everything becomes normal again…
Please dont forget my recomendations when you start again.

Ciao, Matti

Hi dongers!
Same happened to me months ago - panic. My urologist just gave me 2 viagras. When taking the viagra everything was fine. so when i saw that my unit works my anxiety disapeared and everything was fine again. See the doctor - he will help you for sure.

Best wishes!

Thankyou everyone, your words have given me a real lift. I have booked an appointment with a specialist in ED- not until the 21st though, it’s going to be a tough couple of weeks.

I am just so scared, I read in forums of people who have had ED for years, seen countless specialists, chucked everything they could at it and got no where. I hope my problem is easily treatable…

Superstroker- My erections are not like they used to be, I cannot maintain them and they never get properly hard (the glans and lower chamber)

Hearing that some of you guys have gone through periods of ED and recovered is the best. Just a couple of questions to Superstroker, Matti and Setsuma- When you were experiencing ED did it also affect your nocturnal/morning erections? Mine seem to be getting worse all the time. Also was your form of ED the same as mine- spongy glans and lower chamber?

I do not think that my problems can be psychological… Am I right in saying that if your morning/nocturnal erections are affected then it must be a physical problem?

Also I am able to become quite aroused when I attempt masturbation. Can underlying anxiety be contributing to an inability to gain an erection even though you are highly aroused at the time?

Thanks again for all your support.

I rarely get morning erections and I also go through periods of ED. More below.

Dongers, this is obviously a Psych. problem. If you are able to arose yourself in masterbation and not at other times this is an axiety issue. I have gone through this too. Never underestimate the power of your brain. Subconsciously you could be thinking this was in the Am which would effect your morning erections. My advice is to get Viagra…even if it is for the placebo reason, this may be reason enough to change this thought pattern.

Thanks DLD,

I do not dismiss a psychological component to my ED but suspect that the underlying cause is physical. I did not explain myself properly with regard to my masturbation earlier. What I meant is that in spite of a degree of anxiety and depression I can become quite mentally aroused (turned on) during masturbation however my dick does not become properly hard- I have not experienced easy lasting erections of good quality in any circumstance for just over a month now.

I am so scared, I know it is a silly question but does any one know what percentage of cases of ED are resolved so that the sufferer recovers without needing to be forever reliant upon viagra/pump/cock ring etc?

On a good note, my girl rang me, really upset, wanting to get back together. So we are together again… She says that the sex is not what is important in our relatonship. This is true, but I am realistic and if things do not get better fairly quickly a combination of my depression and lack sex will cause a split- for good this time.

Dongers, this is what I am really hearing from you. I think all the fear you are going through is only feeding the obsession. Beleive me when I say this issue will get resolved and you will look back and laugh. The cases of “physically” impotent men are very small. The majority of the ED cases (i think the number is close to 90%, correct me if I am wrong) are psychological. I know that for myself I have decided that Viagra is now a way of life for me and I have looked at the drug in a positive way instead of a dysfunction.

Another thing that helped me was something Luvdadus and Drgmerlin said to me about this when I was suffering with ED. They told me that it is OK not to always get an erection. That there are many other ways to please my women. That I should relax and let the sexuality take over and before long the issue wiould resolve it self. And IT DID!

Being a very obsessive person I can pretty much ruin anything for myself, much of the time I have to relax and let things run their own course. You can look at this like a bike ride. If you are riding your bike down the street and there is a bump in the road and the entire time you are only concentrating on that bump YOU WILL HIT IT. Sometimes completely changing the way we think can be the best therapy.

The chances of a psychologic component of ED is about 100%.
The chance of ED due to PE injury, less than 1%.
The chance of an organic component is:
50% if you are over 50 years old and 5% If you are young (less than 30).
Men with organic ED also suffer from performance anxiety worsening the problem.
Read over your posts again and notice how paniced in tone they are.

“My life has turned into a nightmare…”
“I am just so scared”
“if things do not get better fairly quickly a combination of my depression and lack sex will cause a split- for good this time.”

I am glad you got an appointment to see an expert. He’ll likely give you viagra. The reason is not that you have organic ED necessarily. Success breeds success and often the use of viagra on one or two occasions, leads to successful sex at other times when you not thinking about it - forget to use it and then realize that it is not really necessary. Another technique is to explain to your gf that you are suffering from performance anxiety and ask her to commit to a few sessions of non penitrative sex a few times. By not having any pressure to have an erection often will lead to a diamond cutter and the plan for non penetrative sex may change, but if it does - its probably because you pressurized yourself again for the sex. If you try this it would be a good idea to stick with the non penetration plan for the first two or three sessions.

Check it out guys, no need to have a big dick if you ain't gonna use it!!

Hey dongers, I’m very sorry to hear of your trouble and I hope something I’ll say can help. So many of us have been there where your’re at. And most of us will at one time or another, maybe repeatedly.
A dick doesn’t work right right for a stretch and it’s easy to assume the worst. Here’s some ideas, some of which have already been mentioned:

1. I’ve had weird stretches for even longer than one month where my erections weren’t up to par at all, but now it works great. Try not to panic.

2. Now this is just my personal thought, but if it were me, I wouldn’t stop jelqing, at least light to moderately, if I was trying to improve eretile circulation. Jelqs seem to help my erections, but squeezes seem to be hard on them. Heavy jelqing gives me mondor’s, but that’s just me.

3. To a sensitive personality like me, researching illnesses on the internet can become a downward spiral into a hell of fright.
This goes triple for E.D. which is so often psychological.

I remember when I researched a throat problem and consequently “just new” that I had throat cancer. No one could convince me othewise. After months of a sore throat that wouldn’t heal up(and I chewed tobacco back then), I saw a specialist that confirmed it was….allergies….and it went away.

Another time, again I “just knew” that I had colon cancer. I researched and I researched, and that was my big conclusion. I was practically drawing up my last will and testament. 7 months of Pain, bleeding, strangely shaped stools—sounds unsurvivable, RIGHT? Then I went to see the specialist, who said it was…a spastic colon and internal hemorhoids…and they went away.

The point is, too much assumtion and not enough professional diagnosis can scare the bejeebers out of a person.

One more thing-if it were me and I was love with this girl and she was in love with me, I’d hold on to her. In a couple of months a dick can heal, but a heart may stay broken for a long long time. A good partner can help someone get through something like this. My wife has been a WORLD of help. I don’t know what I’d do without her when something like this worries me… she helps me keep my head, and my erections:)
Take courage, dongers:)
