If you really do your research into most of the chemicals used in ChemPE, you’ll find that almost all of them work systemically (except arguably caverject). I only say “almost all of them” because there is a chance there is something out there that doesn’t (see again: caverject). All that I’ve seen have worked systemically (see again: caverject). In other words, they don’t work locally as people claim. The majority are carried into the bloodstream, and have to be processed by the liver. Some guys even claim “well if you wear a cock ring, that will keep it localized”. That claim really shows a poor understanding of how these chemicals work on a cellular level, in my humble opinion.
I’m going to use IGF-1 as an example. IGF-1 is big in bodybuilding circles, and is often thought of as a chemical that causes “targeted site growth”. The thought being “inject IGF-1 directly into the biceps after a bicep workout, and you’ll get better results from that bicep workout”. Now… it’s kind of true. But it doesn’t work quite that way. The IGF-1 is injected, and enters the bloodstream before acting on any muscle tissue. The biceps ARE theoretically more likely to “collect” the IGF-1 than other skeletal muscle, but not because of the injection site. If you just worked your legs hard in the gym, and inject IGF-1 into your shoulder, your legs are still more likely to received that flood of IGF-1. The reason is because when you work a muscle heavily, the number of IGF-1 receptors are increased (temporarily) in that muscle tissue, because it is trying to recover as quickly as possible.
There’s more to it than that, but that’s the gist. I also realize that skeletal muscle and the penis… aren’t the same thing. But the concept of systemic delivery remains the same, and this was just something I felt was a good example. I’ve yet to see a convincing argument for chemical PE, other than chemically induced priapism, which I don’t know why anyone would want to take the risk of never getting an erection again for any reason.
All of it sounds like a bad idea to me. But that’s just one guy’s opinion. Many others will have different opinions, and I’m not about to call their opinion any less relevant.
