Some guys have a consistently engorged, fairly hard glans during erections, but judging from porn — a sample of pretty well-functioning dicks, if there ever was one — many dudes get hardly any glans inflation at all, even with an awesome erection, unless they do some sort of “clamping” like the uli you describe. And even those lucky guys who get a decently firm glans during erection do not ever achieve the sort of rock-hard feel that happens in the shaft.

^Yep. Generally speaking, the glans are the last part of my penis to erect. When it’s just starting to get hard it doesn’t have the best inflation, but once I’m properly aroused it generally stays inflated and at best ‘firm’, but definitely not hard. It can also just vary a bit naturally, just as an erection may slightly lose and regain strength during one session of intercourse, so do the glans go up and down a little…for me anyway….and I consider this very normal.

The only real way to prove a venous leak is with a penile doppler study. I’ve had one. Quite an embarassing experience but what the hell.

Basically at that the start of the study you will be given a shot of Caverject into your penis (awesome stuff BTW) and you should be rock hard in about 10 minutes. Then the technician will start taking ultrasound measurements of your penis measuring blood flow going into the penis and flow coming out of the penis. Takes about an hour at most. Depending on how much Caverject you get shot up with you may have to wait around for a while before the erection goes down enough to get dressed.

It detects a leak in the penis, it will glow if there is a leak, I’ve seen it my self, there will be a red (in my case) dot in the middle of the sonar, this is how you know that something is leaking, and nothing should leak, my leak was just under my fat pad.

You can see the blood flow in and out, but the doctor should look for a leak, in most cases the leak will be something around the fat pad.

For some strange reason PGE doesn’t really effects me, I got a 10 and a 15 mcg shots, non really gave me a 100% erection, the 15 one followed with a levitra pill gave me a nice erection.

I’m going to have another procedure soon.

Invictus, any updates?

Hey man. Did you go to a urologist to get it diagnosed? And what did you do to fix it, what kind of doctor fixed it?

OS- nothing yet. For the past 3-4 months I’ve only been masturbating once a week, which helps. Also, I just started taking arginine and light light PE in the shower, maybe once a week. But those of us with a venous leak know that, even doing these things don’t make much of a difference. Still, even when I get erect, once I stop stimulating, I will be limp in a matter of seconds, regardless if I kegel. If I hold a kegel, it slows the process, but by a very small amount.

Yep, starts with a urologist. He/She will check all your blood and hormone levels. After that the usual treatment for ED is pills (viagra, levitra and/or cialis). Injections are next. While they sound painful, injections really aren’t and result in about a 95% success rate that allows you a 1-4 hour rock hard erection.
If you still want to pursue a doppler study the urologist can write you a script and give you a list of facilities that can do it. I went to one of the local hospitals. The technician was female (and attractive) so it was majorly embarassing at first but I got over it. Especially after the doctor came in and shot me up with 20units of Caverject. Then the tech then proceeded to ultrasound my unit for about 30 minutes, moving it around as need be.

Results, no leak at all. I have a copy of my results I can post later once I dig them up. Most guys under 50ish don’t have venous leaks. They are usually found in older diabetics that have poorly controlled blood sugar (but not always).

Here is a link for general information about doppler studies:

Thanks bro. Read through it. Unfortunately, about the “if you have a severe outflow problem,” they basically say you can have a prosthetic inserted (which I would never do), or else you are fucked. Os_q and Steinkill, and Yata had their outflow problems fixed via coils and embolization.

I already got the blood test last summer (it was ok), and recently got another from my regular doctor (awaiting results). I think everything will be okay for the most part. My next step is to hit up the urologist and get a doppler.

What did you do after he said no venous leak? Did he give you a script for Viagra/Cialis? Why did you think you had a venous leak?

Leaks are hard to fix. Implants (last resort) or vascular surgery (high risk of failure). I have scripts for injections and pills. I rotate between all three types of pills depending on the situation. Each one has it’s strong and weak points. The injections are a last resort.

I thought I might have had a leak because of how fast I can lose an erection. Easy to get one but it will drop quickly without constant stimulation.

Hi, one of your biggest problems is that you’ve consulted an urologist, they don’t know how to fix a venous leak, I’ve seen some urologists, they didn’t want to hear and one of them just said that there is nothing to do, by the way his examines were with a very old equipment, the radiologist knew what I was talking about right away, he knew how to fix the problem, but the first thing he did was to check if there is a problem.

You don’t need to use C \ V or caverject when your 20, wait until you’ll be 50, for now there are procedures to fix our problem, so why get used to drugs?

By the way, Invictus, I know exactly what you’re talking about, not been able to hold a long kegel when erect, it’s like your kegeling blood in a circle, blood goes in and then straight out. Leaving a poor glans \ CS swell.

Conquering my goals.

Os is right. In my experience urologists don’t want anything to do with venous leaks. They can be fixed though. The high failure right seems to be due to either multiple, hard to block leak sites, or the leak being caused by other factors (disease, old age etc) which can’t be helped. Young guys who have a congenital leak or one caused by trauma have a much greater success rate.

There are some urologists (all of whom are surgeons, in the US, anyway) who have a good track record for venous repairs. True, in older men the success rate isn’t all that exciting, but younger guys get pretty good results IF they have a very experienced surgeon.

Holy shit man.

I am scared as hell right now. As far as I remember my glans were never really hard (I know they aren’t supposed to be, but even If I have a rock hard erection the head is always soft and wrinkled, it looks weird, since my head is around 3” in girth while the shaft is over 4” ).
The only way to make my glans shiny and bigger is to do 3-4 quick Kegels and hold it (they get back to miserable state immediately when let it go).

As for trauma I remember I accidentally smacked my balls against iron bar (I slipped while walking on it).
My balls were OK but I remember my PC muscle (maybe even parts of the ‘inner penis’) hurt really bad (I was like 7-8 back then so I’m not sure how It all went, or if anything changed since then).

I Blame it for my really small flaccid (my usual flaccid is almost the same as cold/fear shrinkage), as well as my lack of girth.

I don’t think going to the doctor makes any sense since I get spontaneous erections and I don’t have ED. My dicks pretty fit except that head.

I can also keep an erection for like a minute or two max, after I stop stimulation.

Do you think I may have a light version of it ? Maybe through PE I make the leakage even bigger ? (I don’t recognize any significant positive nor negative PI’s)

This is normal. Glans hardness varies among guys who have excellent erections and no penis problems.

This is better than normal. You have absolutely nothing to worry about, as far as your erections are concerned.

It’s always good to keep a careful eye on your erection quality while PEing. Sounds like you’re doing great.

Are you kidding me? You have nothing to worry about. If you like, you can read through the whole thread, and check over some of the symptoms, like losing an erection in a few seconds like me, after manual stimulation is stopped. You seem all good but make sure you take a second to reflect upon your PIs.both negative and positive. If you do this, along with safe and smart PE, you will be good.

Hey Avocet, in your opinion, how might one go about in finding an experienced surgeon for this type of matter? I had my doctor refer me to an interventional radiologist, and a vein specialist, both in a hospital nearby, both of whom I haven’t seen yet. He wasn’t too experienced with venous leaks in the penis, and he didn’t even know about interventional radiologists and this matter, but I told him about Yata, and Os_q, so he referred me to one.
