No morning wood

No morning wood

I posted about this many months back but I don’t get morning wood, I used to in highschool, now I’m 21, and it seems like the last time I had it was freshman or sophmore year in highschool. I take zoloft which people mentioned may effect it. Proper amount of sleep is important. What else could have cause the dissapearance of my morning wood? Low testosterone, or something else? Anyways to cure it? Thanks.

This problem was decribed here somewhere and I’m sorry I don’t know which key word to search for it.
But as I remember, there was someone who said PEing make you temporarily lose your morning wood. Sometime your penis take a bit long to be healed, so you might have to keep going with your PEing with modoration then it would help. Good luck with that and wish you having your morning wood back :)

Overdoing PE can reduce erections, but I’d be inclined to blame the Zoloft, either directly, or if it alters your sleep patterns, indirectly. Maybe you are having erections when you sleep but not waking at times to notice.

Yeah this would tell you not to worry too much.
I never notice about that, what I know is I got WHHOOP! my penis already pointing to the ceiling when I’m awake :D

I’m still wondering if this happens to only young men? let say under 30, what about after you’re getting a little old, let say 40 or older. Do you still have morning wood? If YES, why? and if NO, also why please.

There’s a trick doctors use to test for erections during sleep, which all men have naturally unless they have ED. They just get the patient to stick postage stamps around their penis before they go to bed. If the perforations between the stamps are torn in the morning you are probaby getting decent erections during the night.

Dosage of Zooloft? How long have you taken it? For what cause - depression, anxiety? You doing anything else to battle the issues behind that cause you to need to take Zooloft? If so, when do you plan to “get off” the medication? If not, what the h#ll are you thinking of?

I’m skipping ahead here, but depression/anxiety can come from chemical imbalances (genetically inclined) and so you wind up suffering from melancholy or the like. OR you could have issues that cause you mind to go into a death spin (like an airplane) and this leads to chemical imbalances that permanent themselves (and so you take SSRIs to help the available serotonin to do stay in place and do it’s job). In the second case, Zooloft on it’s own will not do the trick on longterm. It can be used as oil on the waves so you can get to a safe port and fix that breached hull, but you cannot go pouring oil on the waves for the rest of your life. I haven’t taken Zooloft, but I have suffered from depression and taken Seroxat and Efexor, and I speak from experience when I say that they do dull your emotions a bit, apart from possible long-term damage to your liver and such.

Speaking of which I’ve snooped around after reading Hobbys links on fish oil, and it seems from reputable scientific sources that Omega3/6 oils are connected to regulation of serotonin in the brain = naturally low levels of Omega 3 due to inability to take it up or bad diet means you should supplement and that this may help with keeping depression/anxiety at bay without using Zooloft. I am currently eating extra Omega 3, we’ll see what that does for me in the long run.

Good idea!
Postage stamps is a little wilted, isn’t it? I bet you will have to buy more than four stamps to stick all around your penis if you got a bigger one :D

Like many before me, in my twenties I used to wake with a hard you couldn’t bend. Although I have still had them through later years it is only since I started PE in December 2004 that I’ve woken several times in the earlier hours, and I’ve always got you can’t bend. Most satisfying at 54. As for results, they’re coming nicely, mostly length (+ 1.75”) so far but I’m working seriously on the girth now.

What is your diet like? Do you eat a lot of junk food or health food? Do you drink? Smoke? Are you overweight? Do you exercise?

I also agree it is most probable that the Zoloft is contributing to your problem, but if you solved the problem that is causing to you take the Zoloft, I think that would restore your proper body function and you would feel much better naturally.

If you aren’t living healthy, switch to a good diet and exercise and ween yourself off that Zoloft crap.

As your doctor if, while you are using the Zoloft you could also take Cialis. Cialis would likely kick-start your nocturnal erection cycle as well as overcome any basic erection problems you might incur while taking Zoloft. Once you have resolved whatever the reason is now for taking Zoloft you could wean yourself off it per your doc’s instructions, quit taking the Cialis, and have a normal erectile response.

While you have your doctor’s attention, ask if Welbutrin would work as well for the condition for which you are taking the Zoloft. Welbutrin has a very solid reputation for not causing the sexual fallout that Zoloft often does. If there is a specific reason why you need Zoloft over Welbutrin, stay on the Zoloft. It is much more important right now to look out for your mental well-being than it is to have morning wood.
