Looks essentials THE HELPERS GUIDE

JB do you know any ways to reverse thinning hair and a receding hairline?

To young for me to think about or possibly research.

My advice,

DO not spend money on shampoo’s or hair growth kits or those rub on foams. It doesn’t work.

I have a friend whose hair is thining and NOTHING HELPS.

Perhaps bosley.

Shave it. I know a lot of guys will hold onto their last few strands before they even think about shaving it, but bald can be a stylish masculine look that a lot of guys can pull off. It is not for everyone. I did it and I went from looking like a Jewish college kid to a convicted felon. Some girls liked it, others didn’t.

I think that being in good shape is also important if you are bald. Nobody wants to see jelly rolls…on your head.

There are always hair transplants and plugs. I am only 20 so I have not really looked into that. Hope you find a solution that works for you.

Very interesting thread. Thanks!

Yeah shave it off and train your traps and shoulders.

I'm a big fan of 50 Cent, or as we call him in Zimbabwe, four hundred million dollars.

Can’t remember how I stumbled on this thread, but I’ve been reading it over the past weekend. Very interesting and might be a wake up call for many.

I will try the oil pulling and lemon juice for sure.

Now I’d like to contribute my one simple piece of advice. Costs nothing. Works wonders. **SMILE** Seriously, nothing works more consistently than just having a slight smile on your face when around other people. When I’m walking, women will see the smile which attracts them - if I see them glance my way, I will turn slightly and grin just a little bit more and catch their eye. The result is ALWAYS a smile from them which makes both of you feel good.

You don’t have to be good looking at all for this to work. A smile is the most contagious thing on the planet. It make people feel good and makes you automatically more attractive.

Wow, firstly let my just say this thread is really interesting. I am definitely going to start oil pulling and see what happens. My guess is that no one was claiming that it could cure a disease like AIDS or Cancer, but perhaps lessen the effects of the diseases by contributing to your overall health.

I am a college student in Miami and was approached by an modeling agency who really lured me in (in a city like this the person next to you in line at starbucks could be some model scout) and I went along with it for awhile. If you work the right way you can make some really good money, as some of the people I met surely have, but I just really wasn’t into the whole scene.

Anyways, long story short things just began interferring with my school, work, and social life, and it just wasn’t worth it to me. I could not afford to slack on my school work (I am slowly but surely working my way to med school and my grades need to be right on par). The entire point of my story is that I have realized that the reason I was even approached, and what I learned from being around the people in that industry, is that it’s just as much about how you present yourself as what you were naturally blessed with.
I’m not saying any guy can alter their apperance naturally and become some macho-model, but simple things can really make a huge difference. There’s some awesome advice in this forum but there are only a few pointers I can personally give to you dudes:

1.Excersize is an obvious- you seriously not only look better, it also really makes you all-around happier. I’ve noticed the morinings I skip out on the gym I end up tired and cranky by the end of the day.

2.Give up the Meat- I know it seem extreme, and I’m not saying this is the only way to go about improving your looks, but vegetarians tend to be attractive people. I don’t mean the odd misfit types who don’t know how to balance their vegetarian diets, I mean taking a little thought to take in enough protien in a vegetaran diet. Seriously when I became a Veg, I smelled better, had more energy, and my whole body looked and felt healthier.

PEACE OUT, DUDES

Man I always thought I was sexy. Not a model type, but a “I want to fuck him” type. Then I read this and realize shit.My hair is thinning. My body isn’t the same as when I was in the military.I really need to shave my face.I’ve gotten pretty lazy.what the hell is this oil stuff you speak of.maybe I need to re read this post a few times it could help.. But then I remembered that I am a member of thunders place and A big dick is all I need to look good and feel good about myself.

Whats up Ymerej Esouhtaerg!

Sounds good, I’ll try it too. Thank you

On going people,

Short and easy tip..

In the NEW section of “socialization”

When it comes to music, everyone has their own style. Some like, country, hip/hop, oldies, rock. DO your research and pick out some obviously FUN songs that you can never go wrong with.. “WHAT DO you MEAN JELLYBELLY?”

Well, for example.. With girls my age and perhaps a little older some hip songs from the 90’s bring back old memories. And it’s just a fun trip down memory lane for them.

So many guys try and be cool by playing hip and up to date song. Or perhaps play songs really loud. These aren’t extremely effective because some girls will think your just a poser/loser.

I wanna include this because it’s something that has been effective over and over again with me and women. I can meet a cold hearted stuck up bitch, but when we’re in the car driving and I put on some “lame” tunes, it’s almost an ice-breaker. Plus, it makes you very memorable. Buddies who ride with me always ask if they could have a CD with these music on it.

Examples:

What is love - haddaway

One more time, harder/better/faster/stronger - daft punk

September - earth wind fire

Hungry like a wolf - Duran Duran

List goes on and on.

Yes, I know this post is a little childish, but sometimes being childish gives more life to us.

Add in your info!!

One tip I learned on here to be EXTREMELY effective is the lip balm on the eyebrows. (Espeically if you have dark eyebrows)

^ Makes you look extremely sharp and clean cut.

THANKS WHOEVER WROTE THAT!

Sex, money, and jellybeans

Jelly - I’m enjoying this thread, thanks. I have now added shrugs to my routine.

Small tip for the addition:

Your neck can be the difference between manly and awkward.

Let me ask you a question..

Have you seen those guys at the gym who is extremely ripped/buff but something is off. And then have you seen those guys at the gym who are pretty buff but they look so much better then those guys who are Ripped or huge?

It’s a hard question, to ask per-say, but there is a reason why.

I’ve talk to a personal trainer about this, and he agreed on the same exact thing.

Along with this, let me ask you something else.

You ever see those guys who are just to big, and they don’t seem to have a appeal to them anymore. They are just a big mass of muscle and skin.

There’s 2 things you need in order to look and have the essence of “damn, his body is hot”

1. A strong neck

It can make you look lanky if your buff in the chest/back but if your neck looks like a connection line to your head, there’s a problem. It just doesn’t look right because it looks out of proportion. You can easily solve this by adding shrugs to your workout.

2. You should strive for a small waist and a wide back.

Work out your obliques and basically just do cardio. Full blast your back workout and tend to the wingblade’s more. This might be considered more a genetic thing, but it can easily be altered.

Sex, money, and jellybeans

If you work your obliques your waist will increase in size. Athletes work their obliques specifically because they aid in balance, core strength, rotation, etc. But if you want a slim waist and wide back, just do work on your abs and back, skip the obliques. Bodybuilders are an extreme example, but they have an amazing V-shaped taper, and most avoid their obliques to get that shape.

Jelq, ADS, repeat.

IT took Brad Pitt a solid 3 months to gain 20 pounds for “Troy” and he had to hit the gym up too 4 hours a day, 6 days a week, with a trainer and nutritionist. < Perfect diet and perfect form/workout routine gave him 20 pounds in a merr 3 months. Would take the average person 5-6 months + to gain that amount of PURE lean muscle mass. (I know for a fact people will comment saying how much they gain in a period of time, but along with the muscle weight gain, 10-25% is pure fat weight)

For just clean PURE muscle mass gain, it’s said to be a average of .5-1 pound per week on a good steady diet and routine.

^ No offense or anything, But I’ve been working out for quite so time to have some input on this.

In perfect conditions (training, nutrition, rest) average male can get roughly 2-3 kilograms (4.4-6.6 lbs) of pure muscle mass a year.
Everything else is not muscle (i.e. fat, water, glycogen). Don’t try to convince yourself in something that is simply not possible unless you’re a genetic freak.
Of course, that’s without steroids. With steroids it’s not unusual to pack 10 kilograms (22.2 lbs) in less than a year.

Just my $0.02. ;)

A little nitpick JB: working out your obliques will not give you a smaller waist. On the contrary, it will thicken your obliques and make them bulge out more, giving the appearance of a thicker lower torso. To get the V taper the three most important things are cardio, shoulders and back.
