Protein Powder And PE

First off I’d like to say this should probably be in the supplement section but as a newbie I can’t post it there yet.

I have been going to the gym lately working out and afterward taking Protein and the protein is in theory suppose to repair the muscles you just worked out to grow back bigger and faster. I PE’d at about 9 this morning and drank my shake at about 11pm so I doubt it had any effect on it. Do you think if you PE’d and drank any sort of protein after that it would then go to the penis and repair these muscles the same way it would the others?

I’d like to hear what everyone has to say on this theory and why.

Gaining in progress...

Doubtful I have been taking protein powder for years. If it was to of any benefit regarding PE I should be about 10” x 7” by now.It would be nice if it was as easy as that though.

Penile tissue IS NOT MUSCLE. It’s more like a balloon. Retaining memory but will stay as long as your vascular system furnish expanding liquids like blood and lymph fluid. Anyway your protein power should be consumed withing 30 minutes of a workout. Make sure you drink plenty of water during the workout.

I’ve read multiple studies about the need to consume protein right after a workout is a myth. I think there are a very small amount of high endurance atheletes that would see little or any benefits from this. (In terms of recovery). Let alone someone who lifts/does cardio at their local gym 4-5 times a week.

Yes, and no. There are some edge cases, like myself. I will LOSE weight if I hit the gym hard and don’t supplement. This is without a doubt due to my eating habits and diet, so I think you’re right and I would not need protein if I’d eat more protein with my normal diet. But I can assure you that when I work out hard over a few weeks and don’t supplement, I have no muscle grow but lose weight all in all. Oh and I mean losing weight in a bad way- I’m 1,95 and 79kg so I don’t really want to lose a kg :)

As for PE, I found no correlation at all as well.

Highly doubt it, since your penis isn’t the same as your biceps. I can see the logic behind this though, and for all we know (since no one here is a professional scientist), it might, since the PE is assumed to break down and repair cells, which require protein. Not going to completely dismiss it, but I’d have to assume not.

Make sure you’re hydrated though, or you’ll get some nasty protein powder kidney stones.

Problem solving with fire.

Protein right after a workout is a myth. Protein synthesis lasts 24+ hours not 30 mins post workout. This myth got 90 percent of the fitness community rushing towards their protein shakes trying to get it before 30mins is up. There are many debunked myths in the bodybuilding world.

This^^^^

I’m not smart enough to actually figure this stuff out. I just listen to nutritionists/biochemists. Have to take what the fitness world says with a grain of salt.

I never knew the consuming right after a workout was a myth. Just last night I worked out and drank my shake about 2 hours after I was done but I asked my brother if it was even still worth it at this point lol.

Gaining in progress...

Consuming immediately post workout really helps to increase your overall protein intake. Your driving your body to a positive nitrogen balance, which is necessary for ATP production and secondarily for muscle gain. There’s no direct correlation from immediately post workout to gaining muscle, but if you take in more protein during the day you’re creating an environment where muscle can be made.

The penile tissues aren’t the same as everyone has said, but if you’re giving your body everything it needs to heal your muscles, there’s a better chance of it not having competing resources to help heal your penis.

Nobody can definitively say that it helps, but it certainly can’t hurt. You may as well err on the side of potential benefits.

I just follow a few rules when it comes to nutrition and it’s seemed to work for me.

1) Stay hydrated
2) Eat when I’m hungry
3) Eat a balanced diet of fats, protein, and plenty of veggies
4) Limit all sugar including fruit (no refined at all)
5) Absolutely no grains

Your nutrition plan is sensible and it works.

You don’t have to take protein immediately after a work out but you do have to consume something otherwise your blood-sugar can drop. Why not make that protein rather than cake?
