Jelqing is killing me!

Ok, that’s a bit of an over statement, but:

My shoulders make this sort of clicking noise when I jelq these days. It’s as if the force I use pulls the shoulder out of it’s socket each time.

Also, I have developed a strange pain in the joint of my shoulder. I have done quite a lot of boxing and martial arts in the past. This could account for the pain I suppose, but I feel that it is the jelqing with an overhand OK grip that is responsible.

I recently made some jelq-sticks, but I don’t think they give as good a pump, or as good a stretch as manual jelqing.

Anybody selling a PE monkey?

No, but I have a nice trunk monkey I’d be willing to part with for the right price.

My shoulders get tired when jelqing too. Don’t know how to combat that except to do more shrugs. If you find that PE monkey let me know.

Glucosamine/Chondroitin tablets have worked wonders for my hip joint over the past several months. Perhaps they could help restore your shoulder joint as well.

Interesting. Actually, I was talking to someone today about the benefits of cod-liver oil. Do these tablets of yours work in a similar way?

The shoulder tension that I was getting before was managable, but since increasing my number of reps to at least 300 a session, it has become somewhat of a problem.

That Glucosamine/Chondroitin combo worked for me. I was also taking shark cartiladge during that time.

Shark cartilidge??? How do these things work?

You know, I forgot to mention that I also take fish oil capsules. The Gluco/Chon are specifically manufactured for joint health and the fish oil is good for lots of stuff, but the combo seems to be working.

It took a long time though. I had been taking Ibuprofen to manage the hip pain for 5 months straight and just weened myself off of that a couple of weeks ago. So now I am pain free, but I am still taking the G/C and fish oil capsules.

If you try it, be prepared to stick with it for awhile.

I noticed the Gluco helped within 2 weeks on my post-hockey knee pain. Chiro told me not to bother with the Chondroitin, though. Take your pick.

As for oils, I’ve been using Flax oil in my shakes. I imagine it would taste better than the cod liver oil. Take the oil rather than the capsules though. You get much more for less price. One TBSP per day is 14g (14000mg) of oil. It helps to lubricate the joints, and is important in hormone production.

I take Gluco/Chondro and fish oil for my hip. Yesterday, I added bromelain to the list. I originally looked into it to help remove some of the discoloration I’m suffering from hanging, even a month after ceasing all PE activities. In doing so, I learned that bromelain is also a powerful anti-inflammatory, on par with aspirin and other NSAIDS.

Ziggy, I had the same problem with jelqing. I tried to stretch the ligaments in my penis, and ended up stretching the ones in my shoulders! I recommend light dumbell exercises. Shoulder raises, and that sort of thing. Keep the muscles strong and toned, and there should be less stress on the joints.

I take on sharks (gives me a mean cardiovascular workout whenever I can’t talk them out of their cartiledge the easy way and have to resort to physical argumentation), and rub flax seed on my hip daily (to combat skin marks from shark wrestling). Also, I do those dumb bell-excercises in the dark (tried it light, but that didn’t seem to help) but I’m still not as clever as I’d like to be. Cod never did anything for my shoulders, but the slime is pretty good for jelquing.

Just my 2 quarters.

I wore out my rotator cuff from using bad posture when sitting and managed to bugger it when hitting a tennis ball overhead. It’s finally better but my shoulders still feel uncomfortable doing overhand jelqs. If your shoulders are clicking and you have a ‘strange pain’, it’s probably a ligament injury rather than a case of muscle weakness. It won’t get better by lifting weights at the gym, in fact that is likely to make it worse for now, instead you will have to rest. I just use an underhand grip for jelqs instead, can do hundreds like that without getting tired. Be sure to squeeze the sides of your wang and avoid excess pressure on the top.
