Yes. Using a really thick lube might let you seal over hair, depending in how hairy you are. Make sure your lube is safe to use with the material of your tube or seal.

If you really want to cover all the bases then you need to take apart your hand pump and relube the shaft with a think water based lube or even olive oil, before putting it back together. Then lube up the quick disconnect and rescrew that in, and lastly lube yourself up better….. or at least do what is known as the pumper’s trim where you just shave a circle around your cock and leave all the other pubes alone. Do all of that and then tell us if you get a better seal.

Maybe the lubing up more is the answer. Besides I get a farting noise sometimes using it. Air leaving or something.

Use a thick amount of vaseline at the base of the pump where it touches your body. I have lots of hair too but using a good amount of vaseline gives me a good seal.
