Just Got My Bib Hanger

I finally saved enough money to buy a Bib Hanger, and since it’s future is kind of unknown I bought one right away and it came today. So now I have to go buy some weights to hang from the sporting goods store. I have read some of the posts on hanging so I’m probably going in the right direction.

So I have a couple of questions. First, my routine is here hyyprr - Hyyprr’s Routine and Progress Report and I’ve been doing this for the last 3-4 weeks. I have been getting great gains and I want to hang mainly due to its hands-free qualities. I get very tired after about 25-30 minutes of stretching and since I do my jelqs and Ulis afterwards I sometimes get discouraged because of fatigue. So is it still possible to hang and then immediately afterwards do my jelq/Uli routine, or would this be too much?

Second, how much more intense is hanging? Like I said I’ve been getting great gains, and I’m actually getting very close to 8” BPEL (haven’t updated the progress report yet) with just manual stretching. Will hanging just increase my gains or will it be something that might slow be down because of over training?

Just curious, how long did it take to get your bib hanger from when you ordered it?

Second start light, say 3 to 5 lbs tops as you figure how to adjust the hanger. An old belt cut down or poked with more holes is an easy lasso for the weights. Get used to the skin stretch first. It can be an intense feel that you really need to condition yourself for some guys.

Go for shorter intervals during the figuring out phase of the device. Learn how to adjust the toe-in and toe-out to custom fit the device to you. What ever you do don’t take the whole thing apart like I did when I first got mine.

Keep a clock with an alarm on for easy time management or get an hour glass or some shit if you are scared of waking up people.

Make excellent use of your time. Bring school books or reading literature of personal interest to look over. Multi-task my friend.

Buy an eye-hook door lock that screws into the door top and the wood frame post. You know the kind to keep kids out of rooms. They are fucking cheap and even an unhandy person like myself can figure it out.

Some guys can hang without a wrap but they are few and far between. Some guys also need a baby sock which has the toes cut off to help with the wrap. A few threads on that and socks for babies are damn cheap.

The other guys can shoot you with better responses on multi-area routines and blends.

I placed my order on 8/31 and I received it today 9/9. Most of that time was due to delays with the online payment service because the hanger was actually sent out Tuesday 9/7. When you order with the online payment service you then have to fax a funding form, and since I don’t have a fax machine and was very busy this took me two days. Then for some reason it took them 3-4 days to confirm that I had faxed them and to clear my order. The hanger was actually sent out the same day that my order was cleared and processed so I’d say Bib was very quick with the shipping. If I had to do it over again I’d probably go with a money order.

The most important thing to worry about is discoloration of the head and coldness. Really keep an eye on those two and you should be able to juglle all those things to some degree.

I expect the hanging to wear you out for a week or two. Once you get used to it, I cannot see why ULI or other things can’t be combined afterwards. Remember never ever hang erect.

Make sure you go to the Bibhanger website and read the faq inside and out a half dozen times. It took me multiple readings to comprehend everything there.

Thanks twat, the plan is going to be to hang while I read Biochem :D . Would you say that there is more to be gained from hanging than manual stretches, or is it more of a fatigue/comfort issue? Hanging is really interesting to me because if it offers me more gains I might have to reconsider my goals :) .

Hard to say. I don’t think hanging is way better, but the ability to multi-task and take a more passive growth method really allows it to fit easier into a schedule usually. There are plenty of crazy fucks here who hang many hours and spend half the day with no pants on doing just that. So they surf the web, read, write their next Shakespeare work, etc…. Hanging is a real bitch at first and easy to frustrate for a good number of people. Keep pressing and it becomes way easy.

I also think it is a control issue for some psychologically. This is just a guess, but most guys get into a mind set that physically doing exercises results in the only growth. So by doing the routine actively they don’t chance gravity, planning, and other incalculable factors as giving the best gains. I think some hangers reach a Zen martial art feeling to it all. Believing a softer style (Passive) actually works best. These are just unproven hypothesis though.

You can’t manual stretch while working or studying, hanging is great. Also doing jelqing after hanging is very good for circulation. Good luck with the bib it’s a nice hanger, very good for stretching the ligs just watch out for bruising.

Good advice here. I’ll only add that, in my experience, you may want to start with even lower weight, 2 or 3 pounds. Don’t worry about wasting money on small weights, you can use them in combination with your heavier weights as you advance.
