Nice to see that something positive might come out of this Seinfeld of threads.

If we had a Gizmo forum, this thread would belong to here as well. That’s the problem. If you have a hanger forum, than all the tools that can be used to hang should go there. It doesn’t make sense searching a tool for pumping in a Gizmo forum, I would expect to find it in the pumping section. All the remaining tools in the Main (Penis Enlargement). That makes sense to me.

Maybe it is because the name “gizmo forum” is misleading. Like calling it a thing-a-ma-jig, widget, gadget, or contraption forum. But I think Xeno’s idea is a really good one. Perhaps calling it the “PE Engineering Forum,” or the “PE Think Tank Forum” would limit the amount of garbage. Then again I’m not a moderator and I don’t know how new forums get established, etc. But I do think that the standard set by many of our forums here, such as having two progress forums or some of the forums at the very bottom of the page, would warrant the consideration for such a forum. Not that those examples are bad forums or don’t belong here, on the contrary, they bring diversity and options to the site, making it appealing to a larger audience, but I think a forum like the one proposed by Xeno could potentially become one of the more quality forums on this site.

There are a lot of big brains here, maybe some we don’t even know about yet, that might be able to make big contributions if somewhere was established for them to spitball and discuss specifically - or people wanting to be here that would make the decision to become a member based on the presence of such a forum. If nothing else, it would give guys like Xeno, longvehicle, marinera, serenity, and myself a place to have our “discussions,” thereby removing our ranting and raving from the more “regular” boards. ;)

Food for thought I suppose. Obviously just one member’s opinion who is not a moderator.

What should go inside? Do you and Xeno agree about that? Established that, you could do a poll.Then we we’ll see what Gli Illuminati have to say about.

I have no clue, this is the first I’ve thought about it. That would need to be figured out first. And i know how Thunder is big on having things in the proper forum, so where would you put, say, a new extender design you had formulated or prototyped? The gizmo forum (working title) or the extender forum? I suppose those are the questions that would need answering. A poll is a great idea after the details are fleshed out a bit more.

As much as I like a fresh start with a new idea, the more I look at the previously mentioned The Experiment, the more it seems like the original intention of that forum was to share and discuss theories and ideas apart from their respective forums (hanging, pumping, etc.), much like what we are talking about here.

Any forum is going to catch its share of less than epic threads but the more individual forums we create, the harder it is to keep the good threads where they can be easily seen.

Personally, I don’t really look through the forum titles to find threads, but instead I use the “Active Threads” search (under “More” in the TP toolbar) to get a list of all the recent threads started and being posted in. This makes forum titles less important and gives a good view of what the latest threads are creating a buzz.

I absolutely encourage starting more threads anywhere discussing theory and ideas for devices, techniques, anatomy, gizmos and/or contraptions. As long as enough people are talking about it the location doesn’t really matter, it will get noticed.
This thread is proof of that. :)

You’re probably right. Maybe that forum just needs a facelift. That is, maybe people need to make a concerted effort to post good theory threads there to create the “habitat” we are proposing in the place that is already set up to house it.

I think the cream forum does pretty much the same thing than a forum about new ideas. Changing name to The Experiment is not a bad idea, it sounds like a horror movie title. Somthing like ‘Penis Enlargement Factory’ or ‘Bing Bang Penis Theory’. Just to not take us too seriously.

Theres an idea for a thread: What to possibly rename “the Experiment” forum so it doesn’t sound so much like a horror movie.

Funny though, how horror movie titles and think tank titles kind of go hand in hand…
