I’m no stranger to stretching, that’s where I got most of my gains (~0.8” in 8 months) and it’s probably my favorite exercise. I always stretched in 5 directions (SU, SO, SD, left, right) and lately I’ve incorporated BTC in my routine which is a total of 6 directions.

I also have experience with V/A stretching and I usually use thumb and index finger as fulcrum in 3 spots on dorsal and 3 spots on ventral side of penis. For me, fingers seem to work better as fulcrum than various cylindrical objects.

So why is the thread title “analogy to hanging”? As most of you know (especially hangers), it is best to hang at one angle (usually BTC or SD) to maximize ligament gains before moving on to higher angles to target the tunica. Bib also advises this approach, I think he calls it divide and conquer, i.e. attack angles one by one instead of all (shotgun approach).

From my experience, shotgun approach works, at least when it comes to stretching. I don’t know how similar or different hanging is in that aspect. I want to hear your opinion on this subject. Is shotgun approach really better for manual stretching or should I try divide and conquer like most hangers?

I know most of you will say no need to fix something that works. However, what if something else works even better?

I would say that with manual stretching, it is VERY EASY to tackle all angles. With hanging, it is more of a persistence routine. It takes much more time and effort.

So if a person does 3-4 angles of hanging in one session, it can be quite tedious.

I do agree that tackling different angles work well, but it the tracking of progress that is a bit difficult.

I thought so as well, otherwise I wouldn’t gain what I’ve gained. :) I’d like to know explanation behind it, though.

I’m still trying to decide between 3 options:

1. Whole stretching routine in one sitting.
2. Half of stretching routine in the morning (all angles), half of stretching routine in the evening (all angles).
3. Half of stretching routine in the morning (BTC, SD, SO), half of stretching routine in the evening (SU, left, right) (or vice versa).

I don’t think there is much difference, though.

I get a better lig stretch from hanging but it is a pain getting the bib hanger on. I hate standing for long periods of time too.

I have gained about 1 inch (I need to measure - I started at approximately 6.75 in March and I am close to 8 now) and the majority of my stretching routing is wearing an ADS 2-8 hours a day. I do manual stretches in the evening for about 1 hour to hit different angles. Personally, I like a combination of as many techniques as possible.

It is like lifting weights. If you do the same routine all the time your gains will stagnate. Switching up routines keeps gains coming.

I hung for a month, but I’m back to stretching for now because I currently don’t have the required material for Captain’s wench and stretching is simpler and requires less time.
Why can’t you sit while hanging?
