What should my penis feel like after a session? Sore like a gym workout? It feels hot right afterword and a little sore at the base the next morning.

That’s the most it should feel. Straight after a workout it’s ok for your penis to feel a little tired, but more than a little tired after, or the next morning is too much. And like the gym, after you’ve been doing PE for a while, you may not get any tiredness or soreness at all, and that is fine, as long as you felt the workout was enough to grow.

I usually wake up a little sore at the base/groin, and a little fatigued on my unit. Feel normal around 9 am.
