I’ve been jelqing for a few weeks now, 3 days on 2 days off, and usually the last day of the 3 I’ll very lightly, very shortly, and very slowly dry jelq in the shower (for me there’s a huge diff between using lube and jelqing in the shower). I notice a huge difference when jelqing in the shower (which I consider dry jelqing), but there’s a fine line between noticing gains, and overdoing it.

As far as stretching, I can’t say that I notice any gains at all. I’m not sure what erection level I should be at for stretching. If I should grab from the head or base of my penis. If I should be holding kegels (or flexing) while stretching, or immediately after each stretch.

I know everyone is different, but what has worked for you?

Stretching is something I have yet to master. I always seems to hurt myself and get a sharp pain for a day or two after.

However, some report getting great gains from stretching alone.

I have to do one second stretches in order to do any at all. So I’ll grip just behind the head, (never, ever, the head), and pull straight out for one second. This is done flaccid. My penis seems to be extremely fragile in the flaccid state, so I can’t exert much pressure either with the grip or the pull. I do 30-50 of these in sets of 10 throughout the day.

I don’t know if they even help at all.

Like chronostone says, you should be 0% erection level when stretching, I.e. Totally flaccid. You should try and hold your stretches for 30-45 seconds in each direction and move up in 15 second blocks every two weeks. Try that and see how it works for you.

I don’t think jelqing in the shower is dry jelqing. I think it’s closer to wet jelqing - and I’m not being funny, just because it’s in a shower. I’m thinking in terms of friction and grip.

I would be interested to know more about what your experience is with wet jelqing versus jelqing in the shower without lube.

There should be no erection at all when stretching. Typically people grab from the head or the shaft, not the base. Kegels are not usually done while stretching and I don’t believe doing them will really give you any added value. Kegels should really be done daily, without an erection. 50 a day is what is recommended in the Newbie Routine. It’s pretty tried and true.

That said people do all kinds of variations. My thoughts on this are as follows: it’s better to keep the simple exercises simple, particularly in the beginning. Getting overly complex doesn’t really seem to do much and can distract from the focus of doing a simple, consistent, daily routine.

The Newbie Routine is really good. I’d go with that for a few months before doing all sorts of ornate variations.

When jelqing in the shower I notice a larger girth gain than jelqing with lube.

I can feel the difference in friction.

Mr. Happy, I’ve been using an ADS lately, and I’ve been kegeling while wearing it. It seems to stretch the ligs just a little more. I do a few, then take a break, then do a few more. I just do them when I think about it, but it feels like it’s helping.

Yes, that's a gain of 1.8 inches. And no... That's not my real picture.
