Protein Shake After Workouts ?

I don’t know if this has been covered but is this a common practice as it is in weight training ?

After a workout with weights it’s recommended to drink a protein shake with some red grapes to spike the insulin which will put the shakes amino acids into the bloodstream which will then get delivered to the aching muscles. Then within a window of 40 mins something like a tuna sandwich , idea being the aching muscles will take from the food immediately .

I know weights obv are a serious stress for the body and not comparable to a jelq , but I was wondering if this has been tested with good results ? The unit does need blood and if in the blood stream there are the correct foods at the correct timed intervals , ie after with timed spiked insulin levels , I guess someone’s tried this ? Love to hear if it helped.

It is very common practice to have some kind of protein snack directly after a workout that is meant to fire up the muscle healing process but there is a wide variety of snacks that people take. My favorite is to mix a scoop of protein powder into a container of yogurt. Some guys have a spoonful of peanut butter, or like you say, a half a tuna sandwich, or chicken or turkey, or perhaps a handful of peanuts.

It is not meant to be a main meal or anything, so having a protein shake and grapes and a tuna sandwich would be way too much for me.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

Yes , I have only been at gym for a year and am new to the nutrition side. I have begun using a pump and am going to try the shake and amino acids drinks as the unit gets so fatigued with a pump then it maybe a good time to put the food into bloodstream , jelq and have the food in bloodstream. Would also maybe be beneficial to eat oats about two hours before to keep insulin levels low and blood sugar level low , then just after the pump quickly drink the protein drink with the grapes to suddenly cause a rise in the blood sugar level which will send the nutrients to the damaged area . Will give it a go.

I make it a point to eat after my routine. Just a light meal and a multivitamin usually to capitalize on the body’s healing window. Same as when I work out. Just started PE so I’ll have to get back to you with the results.

If you have a good diet, there will be plenty of nutrients in your system to help repair any damage done to your old boy during a workout(unless your unit is 25lb worth). The need for a post PE workout is totally unnecessary in my eyes. It would be like working out with a hand gripper for half an hour and then “needing” a full body massage. Of course a meal or shake is not going to hurt your gains, but help? I think not.

This ^^^^ There is no 30-40 min window. Just eat consistently more than you usally do or if you prefer, eat at a caloric surplus. Diet is important. Focus on getting more protein (around a lb per kg of bodyweight) and veggies and limit your carbs. (if you’re trying to lose weight) Eat everything if you’re trying to be stronger or bulking <—- Do this if you’re trying to build muscle. Shit takes years YEARS MOTHERFUCKER. Just be consistent as possible and don’t take advice without following up on it.

It is true though that If you eat a simple carb before your protein, the protein is easier placed where it needs to be.

If your familiar with the healing window for muscle replenishment the this would at least help build endurance for kegels. I’m doing alot of the during my PE sessions and throughout the day. Other than that I can’t say it will help with PE directly but it can’t hurt.

PE is primarily targeting the collagenous tissue, not muscle, and even if you include the smooth muscle, the amount of protein needed would be tiny. A shake is a waste of time for PE.

It is a waste of time for muscle building also IMO. We need way less proteins than pro-supplements industry made us believe.

I have read several weight training sources that don’t promote taking a supplement, but rather a small carb/protein snack. I think from these sources it seems like a credible tactic for stimulating muscle recovery.

I agree for after PE workouts it is probably not effective and I did misread the original question when I gave my first answer.
