I am 32 and in decent shape. About 1 year ago I was doing PE, some jelqing and hanging, for a few months. I was not having sex at the time but masturbated regularly. I Stopped PE this past fall. Before that I could get rock hard consistently.

In January I got a girlfriend and started having sex, which is where I first noticed my ED. The first time I lost my erection halfway through. After that there were a few times I could not get it up at all, others where I lost it after a couple minutes, and only a few times where I maintained it. But it was clearly an issue, and ultimately we broke up. Over the next couple months I was with 3 other girls and had ED with all of them. Now I’m not seeing anyone because it’s just embarrassing. It’s been two months since I have tried to have sex.

2 days ago I went to my doctor for a physical exam. He seems to think it is not a mechanical problem, and it’s just in my head, but he’s having me get blood work done just in case. What could blood work reveal to be a cause?

Guys, I seriously doubt it’s in my head. I can understand feeling some performance anxiety with a woman because of the past couple bad experiences, but when I’m masturbating I am feeling no anxiety. I am totally comfortable and turned on by the porn I watch, but physically it’s just not happening.

Some online studying suggested that perhaps masturbating too much is the cause, so I stopped masturbating about 2 weeks ago. Since then I find I am not really feeling the urge to. I have like no libido. More strange is that my balls ache sometimes. It’s the kind of aching I have felt after having sex twice in a night. It feels as if I am empty or something. Any ideas on what could be going on?

2 months ago while masturbating, although it took more work than usual, I was able to get rock hard EQ. Now, I am finding it difficult to get that kind of EQ at all.

I decided to masturbate last night for the first time in 2 weeks to see what happens and after 30 minutes I only had a semi and I stopped, frustrated and thinking it just wasn’t going to happen. I could feel everything I was doing but it wasn’t really feeling that much pleasure from it. After 5 minutes I tried again and eventually came but only ended up with an 80% erection.

If the problem was mechanical like a leaking vein then I would assume I should not have been able to get hard since stopping PE, which I have on more than one occasion. Also, I am assuming that if it were mechanical I would still be feeling the itch to have sex, which I am not, and of course it would not explain the aching feeling I am getting in my balls. Could this be low testosterone? Prostate problems? Some other illness?

Any advice or a direction to research would be greatly appreciated.

No libido either means low testosterone or low thyroid or both. A blood test may reveal this.

Thanks for your help. Aside from my doctor, I have not told anyone about this. It’s comforting to have a group of guys I can open up to.

I had morning wood once in the last month. It was prob about 85%

I was thinking low testosterone so I started taking tongkat ali about 3 days ago. Low thyroid is something I didn’t think of. I am going to research it a bit. Thanks for your support guys!

Another thing might be in your diet. Have you changed up your diet and not getting what you essentially need everyday? I’m only 22 and when I was 21 with my ex I too had symptoms just like you, sometimes half way in, couple minutes in ect ect. I then started taking my supplements like I use to and it helped my problem quite abit. Didnt cure it but I could notice a big difference right afterwards. Garnet I don’t have the best diet either too. Just a thought and dont worry man I havent been with a girl since that all happened unfortunately so dont feel to bad.

Hey Newby thanks for the encouraging words. My diet is pretty good. However, up until fairly recently I was smoking and drinking pretty often. I have quit smoking and cut down dramatically on drinking, and have started jogging.

It can mean that, but that is not the full scope of the issue. The blood test would either prove or rule those things out.

mikefits, my guess is that most of this is head related; depression can also be responsible for no libido. I get the strong feeling this is a factor in what you’re going through. Your postings have a lot of anxiety in them.

On a physical level, smoking and a sedentary lifestyle are much more likely to be your problem than venous leakage, which is pretty rare.

The good news is these steps you’re taking are very good.

If you quit - and really quit, giving up the smokes for good - and do a minimum of 20- 30 minutes of running daily it will be about 2 or 3 months before you see your aerobic function really rebound to normal. This should will likely also be accompanied by an abatement of depression symptoms and the eventual return of morning wood.

See if it isn’t true.

Then all you have to do is relax and let go of performance anxiety.

Here’s the thing: sex isn’t a performance. You aren’t being graded nor should you grade yourself. You should put your attention on your partner and do your utmost to get her off and make it fun. If your eyes are on this prize instead of some other, your body will be much more likely to function properly.

I’d say this problem is a wake-up call for you to start taking real care of yourself.

Lol this problem is definitely a wake-up call. Mr Happy you have great observation skills. I do have a pretty sedentary lifestyle, and certainly have some degree of depression. Not having a major life purpose is a factor in that.

I don’t think I’ll be smoking anymore. I was taking some adderall a couple times a week until a month or so ago, which would really make me want to smoke and drink. Now that I’m not on that anymore, I don’t really feel the urge to smoke, and I’m drinking very little.

The good news is.. I got morning wood 2 nights ago! And it was 100% eq

That being said, can I now totally rule out any type of mechanical problem such a venous leak? I keep coming back to that because when I was hanging before, I was doing so with a semi, because that was the only way I could get the hanger to stay on. Otherwise it would always slip down to the head, no matter how tight I clamped it. And I clamped it pretty darn tight. So tight that it hurt. So I found that if I had a little blood in there I didn’t have to go so tight, and I figured since I was only hanging with 5 lbs or so, that it wouldn’t really be a problem. Stupid I know. Then after the ED started I researched a lot and read that hanging with a semi is a no-no, so I was really worried that I broke something.

Anyhow, my thinking is that someone with that problem would not be able to get hard at all. True or no?
