Can stretching in all directions slow gains?

Can stretching in all directions slow gains?

I just had a quick thought…
Is it possible that more benefit would be derived from stretching straight out and/or stretching straight up, rather than stretching in all directions including straight out, straight up, straight down???

I mean, are you balancing out the gains derived from stretching in 1 direction when you stretch in the opposite direction?

What do you think?

Not really sure I just follow the newbie routine

You could take a look at the LOT theory and try to apply it.

If you have a high lot, I would stretch down and BTC (behind the cheeks).

With a high lot, I would concentrate on straight out, or straight up.

~01/01/2006 -- 5 3/4" BPEL -- 4 3/4" Base Girth -- 4 1/2" Mid Girth.

~20/01/2007 -- 7" --- BPEL -- 5" Base Girth ------ 5" --- Mid Girth.

26/08/2008 --- 7" BPEL ------ 5 1/4 girth all around

Considering LOT theory: I have a low LOT. One month ago I started newbie routine - including stretches in all angles and even focusing more attention on straight down(more reps then other angles), and guess what guys! I noticed 1 cm (0,4 inch) gain. I think that all mentioned stretches should give gains - especially when you starting PE journey.

Stretch in all directions, I have good experiences with that.

Deny,

I have a low LOT as well. I tried the BTC stretches for two weeks due to the fact that the stretch just feels intense; I gained 1/16 in two weeks. I know that doesn’t sound like very much but I think in terms of consistent weekly gains. My model forecast is about 1/64 per week; I think this is realistic of me.

No, pulling one way does not reduce gains in another direction. The reason is that all of the stretches, right, left, up, down, straight out, are pulling on the ligaments in a direction away from their attachment points. It’s actually more beneficial to do stretches in all directions than only in one.

LOT doesn’t mean much. There are several threads here about it, a couple where it has been tested extensively. Don’t worry about your LOT measurement, just keep up your routine. Many guys gain without ever knowing what their LOT number is.
