I’ve been clamping for four months now. Stretching, 15 minutes of jelqing, then three 10 minutes sets of erect clamping with 5–10 minutes between. I’m using constant heat. I’m not using a wrap, so I have the clamp fully closed, or one click under.

I’ve gained a little bit in this time, but much more slowly than I’d hoped (especially since I’m still in my first year of PE). And the effects I see don’t fully match the common descriptions. Before I spend another 6 months on this, I just want to get a sanity check that I’m working with proper technique.

1). I have to work pretty hard to maintain a full erection and the sensation that blood is expanding my erection past it’s limit. I gather this at least is fairly normal. I was focusing on edging, but lately I’ve been trying to focus on kegeling, because it seems to result in less irritation and swelling.

2). Big Gurtha’s thread advocated letting your erection subside, claiming that the expansion would continue. I’ve tried this several times, and each time my penis shrunk down to flaccid size fairly quickly. Maybe it’s not tight enough? I’m not using a wrap, but it’s difficult to believe that I could get a much tighter clamp comfortably. If I get a full erection and shut the clamp all the way, I have to squeeze it pretty hard, and it’s a pretty intense sensation.

3). I’ve stuck pretty close to the suggested safety limit of 10-minutes, but I really don’t see the warning signs people describe. My dick doesn’t get dark red or purple. It actually goes a little grey. I’ve never had numbness. I’ve never had any tingling, except maybe a little at the beginning. When I first started, my shaft right around the clamp would get sore and a little tingly, but that doesn’t happen any more, and I never felt it anywhere else.

4). Clampers describe increased expansion over several sets. I am seeing a consistent .25” of expansion over all three sets, with no increase.

5). I am seeing discoloration, darkening around my circumcision scar, and the occasional red spot in the manner described by others.

So can some experienced clampers give me a sanity check? Is there something I should change or does this sound about right?

1 Your doing all the right things, I too have a problem staying hard unless I edge during clamping.

2 Take big girth’s stuff with a grain of salt, he seemed to have many crazy stories and I don’t see how doing what he describes there would help. Nor would I want to do that personally.

3 I still stick to the 10 minute rule and I would advise you to do the same. To me it’s better safe then injured.

4 I’m confused here because your saying you are seeing .25 increase over 3 sets but then no increase? But you are seeing .25?

5 is normal and will stop over time.

I think you need to have patience and stay the course if you are seeing .25 increase. Everything else seems on point to me. You should also figure out a wrap or cushion for clamping. Pumping and clamping has been my sweet spot.

Other clampers have said that the amount of expansion goes up over the course of their sets. So they might see .25” during the first one and .5” in the third. I’m not seeing any increase like that. It’s .25” every time.

Don’t go by other clampers, it’s the old adage we’re all different. I myself would probably only see .25 increase over 3 sets if I didn’t also pump. So your not alone.

I’ve gone with and without and I haven’t had any negative side effects from going without. What I do is I’ll take the self adhesive foam that comes with a new a.c window unit and fit it to the clamp. I ripped it off the other day because it was driving me nuts. Other then using that I never found a wrap that worked well with clamping.
