I’ve been on the newbie routine since December 4 with a 5 ON/2 OFF routine and have gained 1 cm as of my last measurement 3 days ago.

BUT.

This week after taking my 2 OFF days , my EQ isn’t rock solid like before these 2 days , my flaccid doesn’t hang as much. It turtles ALOT , I don’t get morning wood but I don’t think I’ve gotten a morning wood every single day before that but I just wanted to point it out. One thing to note though that I’ve masturbated right before these 2 rest days after a long edging session. Could that be the problem?

Now, should I take a break? I really liked my EQ + my gains and don’t want to be taking an unnecessary break.

Turtling and poor EQ is a sign that you have over worked your dick and it needs to rest. I think you need to take as many days off as needed for your dick to recover. It may need 2 or 3, possibly a week or more.

What ratio of days ON/ days OFF do you think I should do? I am on a 5/2 and sometimes 4/3.

Is taking a few days off going to affect your gains more than an injury would?

Rest days are important. Rest days = healing days. You need to decide what schedule works best for you. Always pay attention to the feedback your dick is giving you. You may find that 3 on/1 off works better, or 3/2 or 2/1, or some other. Your work/life schedule often plays a significant role in determining what PE schedule you can manage. Your penis will get condifioned to a schedule after some period of time, perhaps a few weeks, and you could try a different schedule that may be slightly more rigorous. If your penis responds negatively, go back to the previous schedule. Reiterating, always pay attention to your penis’ feedback.

Also, when considering your PE activity, you need to factor in how much sex/masturbation you do. More activity than usual can tire your dick out and require more rest days to recover.

This is classic (and maybe even shows that you’re doing it right), this cycle: exercise-pullback-lengthen. Sounds like you haven’t experienced the third stage yet.

Hey Don,

Can you further elaborate on what you mean by the “third stage”?

Is there perhaps a thread explaining what you mean by that? I am a newbie and not familiar with such terms.

Just based on reading the thread I think he meant the third of the above mentioned progression: the lengthen part of the ‘exercise-pullback-lengthen.’

My dick did need some rest indeed. I have it 2 days and it’s back as normal. Still maintaining my gains.
