L-arganine: Where to start???

I decided to give try to l-arganine to help me get better erections. I rarely can get more than 80% hard.

Questions:
-What is the best place to buy it on line (I’m in Canada).
-I’d like to buy powder. Any reasons why I should pick the pills instead?
-Doses: how much? How often? When?
-Anybody has used l-arga for a long time? What were the results? Did you get used to the supplement or “addicted” to it?
-Most of all, I’d like to know about the effects that l-a has had on those who tried it? Erections improved? If not, what other supplement could be effective for me?

A: Probably www.bodybuilding.com or www.kilosports.com, if you find it cheaper do tell!

Q: I’d like to buy powder. Any reasons why I should pick the pills instead?
A: Convenience and if you don’t like the taste, powder is much cheaper though.

Q: Doses: how much? How often? When?
A: How much - 3grams a day seems to be the most common dosage.
How often - 1.5 in the morning and 1.5 at night.
When - on an empty stomache, about 45 minutes- 1 hour before you want harder erections/PE.
Staying hydrated helps too.

Q: Anybody has used l-arga for a long time? What were the results? Did you get used to the supplement or “addicted” to it?
A: I’ve used it a fair while and I am not addicted. It doesn’t seem like erections are as good now as when I first started but thats probably because I am more used to them now.

Q: Most of all, I’d like to know about the effects that l-a has had on those who tried it? Erections improved? If not, what other supplement could be effective for me?
A: For me - just harder erections. For some others - increased ejaculate volume. If you want harder erections try viagra/generic viagra, but thats a little more pricey.

I saw the name of this thread and the first thing that crossed my mind was- start orally a “friend” of mine tried the suppositories and said they were a pain.

I have been taking about 2g and haven’t noticed any major differences.

If you do take it AM and PM and start not being able to sleep it could be because of the PM dose.

You know, I’m sensistive to L-a and can only seem to get 500 mg down consistently. Any more than that and I have problems.

I’ve been experimenting with “Pycnogenol”, an anti-oxidant that is highly water soluable. It seems to act in a synergystic way with the arginine.

I’m also experimenting with L-lysine in this mix. Just a note here too, I talked to my pharmacist about mixing L-l and L-a and both are amino acids and her take on it was no probs, no literature in her sphere talking about how they interact together.

Really, you’ll find with your jelqing exercises that erections will come easier and better.

The L-arginine will help in semen production and make your orgasms more intense, at least, that’s what happened for me.

Most guys mix it in their “protein shake” with fruit to mask the taste.

I use the capsule form.

Don’t expect an instant hardon, but a gradual/slight improvement in firmness. Over time this stuff is really cheap, and worth the investment. You are lucky, we can’t even get the powder form in this England :( .

Don’t get why everyone hates the taste so much, I quite like it. Although I once crushed a 0.5g tablet in my mouth to see if I could stand the taste, this was a little nasty but when it is concentrated its fine.

If most guys are mixing it in their protein shake, they’re wasting their L-Arginine because protein combats the function of the L-Arginine. You need to spread out the time between your intake of protein and L-Arginine. There was a thread here at Thunders that talked at great lengths about this. Just trying to save you guys some money. I make sure I give it two hours between protein intake and my L-Arginine intake.

I went to take a look in a supplements store near where I live. The only l-arginine I could find was in 500mg tablets form and it costs 25$ (Can device) for 60 tablets! That is just so expensive. I think that ordering on line really is the best option for me.

Since some guys report to have had no results from taking l-arginine, thought I could start with very high doses, just to see if it works for me and, if it does work, reduce the doses afterwards. Is 3x3grams per day a crazy dosage?

I would guess it is a little high, yes - perhapps someone could say why.

It’s probably wiser to start on a lower volume (around 3g) and increase it if that didn’t work. Give it at least a week to notice a difference though, I noticed a difference when I started.
