Vacuum Hanger question

I’ve been using mine for over four months now. I hang 10 for 45-60 min. at a stretch :-) No blisters, but definite fluid build-up. Goes away completely in an hour or so. I find it a very comfortable device to wear.

I think the quality of sleeves has improved, i.e., the ones I ordered more recently seem to last longer than the ones that came with the hanger. Yes, it’s a challenge getting them on to the hanger. Best done in a warm room, with a bit of technique. As for attaching it to myself, I fold the sleeve back onto itself, i.e., over the hanger, apply the hanger, then unfold the sleeve. I cut the sleeves in half, so that also makes it easier. I don’t bother with the vacuum hole — I just keep it taped up all the time.

So these sleeves need to be replaced on a regular basis? If so, what is the on going cost of that?

Please don’t take this the wrong way, as I am not questioning your honesty. But is there any chance that some using the Vacuum Hangers are mistaking fluid build up as gains?

Just to update my vacuum hanger experience; my member seems to have toughened up a lot since my last blister. I’ve stopped using the smaller head cover for the reason I wrote about earlier in the thread, but I haven’t had any blistering with sessions of 30 minutes at 11 pounds. I’m going to grab a few extra large head covers when I order my next batch of sleeves, but I am doing fine without them at this point.

Lastresort,

I had some problems with the first beta-test batch of sleeves, but nothing like what you describe - Monkeybar redid the silicon formula and since that I haven’t had any problems, nor have I read all that many reports of that either? Mostly when people say a seal broke, it’s because of a sharp fingernail or from pulling them over the cylinder.

I roll the sleeve up over the edge, I don’t pull on/off. When I take the hanger off I release the vacuum and that pretty much allows me to slide the hanger off when the shaft skin follows along and then it all “rolls off” the glans.

Tivase,

Blistering is very much an individual thing. Long sessions + high weight = risk for problems. Apparently moisture and use of skin cream can lead to increased risk for blistering as well. Myself, I’ve never had a blister. I’ve had plenty of lymph build-up in my glans though. But this is temporary, and is not mistaken for gains. It is only local on the surface that is subjected to the vacuum.

How often do sleeves need to be replaced?

Is there any association of reduced sensitivity (not permanent, but short-term) while using a vacuum hanger?

To add to Tivase’s question on sleeves, can I ask what ‘head-covers’ are? The actual vac-cylinder?

No, he means the constriction sleeve.

mgus,

And the sleeves, replaced often vac-hanger users?

The first version that MB made ripped fairly easily, so he redid the formula about two months after having started selling the vacu-hangers. I haven’t heard many complaints, nor do I have any, about the new ones.

Mgus,

Thanks for you reply. I have been doing PE off and on for about three years. I’ve gotten some pretty impressive gains in girth, but not much in length or not enough to brag about anyway. Some times I just get burned out and stop for a month or two, other times I just don’t have the privacy to do the PE exercises. MB. Vacuum hanger is a good product for sure, I am just having a lot of trouble learning how to use it.

The sleeves are still not lasting very long for me. I’ve tried to roll the sleeve up as you suggested, I have very strong hands, I’ve always worked with my hands doing manual labor just about all my life. I was a carpentry for over 30 years and this really puts your hands to work, but I’m disabled now and have been for about five years. I just can’t seem to get the hang of rolling the sleeve up and over the cylinder. This includes putting the sleeve on the cylinder and taking it off at the end of my hanging session, so I’ve had to resort to folding the sleeve up and over the cylinder when taking it off, I think this is where I get the pin holes in the sleeves.

I’ve been back to MB’s website and I can not see a link to order just the sleeves by themselves, do I need to contact Monkey bar and ask him about the sleeves? Anyone got any advise? Hope so, I’m on my last sleeve. Again, thanks for the reply and info. My kind regards, Lastresort

Unlike compression-style hangers, which grip the penis by squeezing it firmly, vacuum hangers work by suction. Since there is no tissue compression, the usual warnings about applying hangers to or near the glans fly out the window. Vacuum hangers should be used at the glans. THey may cause the glans to expand with lymph, but the do not cut off circulation or impinge the nerves.

In my experience, they’re very safe.

As for blisters, they can be avoided by using compression sleeve (Monkeybar supplies one) or by wrapping or taping the glans. The idea behind the wrap is to limit the maximum vacuum that can be felt by the skin. I have personally hung 15# for 2+ hours continuously with a taped wrap with no sign of blisters.

I am now working on 3 hours (continuous) with 12.5# using MB’s compression sleeve. So far, so good.

One thing - how long do you keep the sleeve? Are you rolling the entire sleeve down over the shaft? If you cut the sleeve as short as possible while still keeping vacuum - so that as short a part as possible of the shaft is covered by the sleeve - there will be less sleeve to grab the skin. Then maybe rolling away the top end to release the vacuum hole should allow you to just pull it off? Some people have cut the sleeves in two, that way you can have one half over the top of the cylinder and cover the vacuum hole and the other half over the cylinder and shaft - if you get a pin hole you’re more likely to have that problem at the bottom.

That definitely sounds more convenient than having to break sets into 20 min hang, 10 min circulation break.

Do you find that being able to hang continuously contributes to a greater fatigue and possibly gains?

Yes, and I hope so.

I find that a sleeve lasts about four months. But remember that I’m cutting them in half, which makes it a lot easier to get on and off, and thus places much less stress on the sleeve. I have tried using a sleeve full-length and it’s a bear to fold it back. I tore one after a couple of days struggling with it. Frankly, I don’t see the point of keeping it long (the sleeve, that is :-) As far as I know, it’s purpose is to maintain a seal for the vacuum. This — for me, anyway — just requires and inch or so to prevent air from leaking in.
