I hung hanged for the first time today.

I am terrified of measuring.

For so long I was at a plateau and each time I measured I became more discouraged, so its always a struggle for me to get the tape out.

Recently, with the fulcrums and heat I have felt a little more like having a look to see how things are progressing, but I will probably wait another month

I have to say that I’m looking a little larger recently, so maybe the heat and fulcrum hanging is paying off.

The fulcrums feel like they hit areas I’ve never reached before, like behind the balls, especially with the two inch fulcrum.

I think its better to wait 2-3 months between measuring. I measure after 12 weeks because my lifting routine is changed every 12 so I tend to do everything in blocks of 12 weeks.

I used to measure too much and become obsessive over changes daily.

Now I don’t measure for months.

I probably won’t measure for at least another month, but if every twelve weeks works to provide structure and motivation, great.

I just know that heat and fulcrum hanging is working for me now and I’m motivated enough, and a poor measurement could knock me of stride.

Are you still hanging with the irwin clamp ? have you had to modify it at all ?

I still use the Irwin clamp as I got it from home depot.

I put yellow PVC electrical tape on the jaws and that grips the same tape that I use as a wrap.

I haven’t exceeded ten pounds on fulcrums yet, but I’m sure it could cope with a few more pounds yet.

Thanks

I was looking at the irwin clamps at the hardware store today, they’re cheap enough and look like they’d make an ideal hanger, think I’ll pick one up.

Let me know how it goes.

I love mine, it’s easy put on and release and holds well once placed properly.

I use a weigh scale hook to attach weights to the hanger.

I use steel weights from my weight set. 10 pounds, 7 1/2 pounds, 5 pounds, 2 1/2 pounds and 1 pound plates gives me the variation in weight to find the right weight for each session, and the weights are small enough to fit together on the hook.

I hang 12 1/2 pounds standing with it for ten minutes at a time and it only slips if the heat warms the tape too much.

I’m quite sure it could hold 15 pounds or more, I just haven’t needed to use that heavy a weight to get the fatigue I use as a gauge to measure the amount of weight to use.

I have been so sore some sessions that I had to reduce the weight because I was so sore.

I tried bundled stretches in a hot bath just now and boy is that a different feeling.

I have been doing some manual stretches in the bath for a while, but tried twisting my unit and pulling and wow, what a stretch.

I could really feel the stress on the tunica.

I’m planning on doing some bundled fulcrum hanging after the holidays and wanted to see how it felt manually first, before harnessing in.

I usually do a couple of minutes of bundled stretches in the shower every morning, they are pretty intense but do seem to give a nice relaxed hang all day.

I picked up a 2” irwin clamp at the weekend for the equivalent of about $10.00
What a great cheap hanger !
All I did to it was stick some left over squares of waxman gripper material to the pads and presto, easy to use comfortable and adjustable !

Thanks for the idea.

Brilliant!

Yeah it’s pretty much perfect, the only thing I may do is make the feet larger to get a bit more gripping surface, need to get a good look at the inside surface of a bib to see what dimensions that uses.

The inside surface of the bib hanger has teeth that mesh together.

I have some rubber pads (used for basketball court construction, which I used to build.) And tried those, but I found the pads the clamp comes with work fine on their own.

I haven’t ever tried more than 1 1/2 pounds though, but the clamp is rock solid at that weight.

Sorry, I meant 12 1/2 pounds.

I havent hung over the holidays with all the visitors and so on, and I miss the sensation of pulling and bending, and so I will begin again in earnest on Monday.

I have been doing some bundled stretches in the bath, which are quite intense, but as they tend to be more a girth exercise, I’m going to do them occasionally as I’m only interested in hitting 8” long.
