Hanging Fatigue

I absolutely love the previous post.

For the record, yes - I have used slow progression to gain. I still, after over half a year hanging, have not gone over 12.5lbs except to experiment and flirt with stress ideas. And even with this as a max weight I still spend most of my time under 10lbs due to fatigue.

I know the idea is largely Bib’s, but not until BBS put an exclamation point on the “no pain/mild tug” thought did I begin to view it as a commandment.
I do not suffer injuries, and I gain. It just takes time.
Embrace the fact that time is more relevant to the hanging process than anything else and you will get the easiest gains PE has to offer.

I think Bib’s gains in total took three years to accomplish. Maybe two of that spent hanging for length?
Using that pace as a rough guide and with slightly more than 1 1/4” length gains of my own, I consider myself right on track. Or better put: The pace of my gains are good enough for me to keep at this. Happily.

As always- great stuff BBS. Get that theory ironed out.

Wow my ears are burning here. :D I am finally understand the idea of max weight. I started with the hanging 101 faq with 5 lbs in the beginning of December. I moved up approximately 2 lbs every month. I have been sitting around 12 pounds now and I am adding sets instead of more weight.

The big difference is that at first I think I was going up in weight too fast. I remember posting that even 7 lbs was hard to do for almost a set. My unit got tired and ached the rest of the day. I remember thinking that there is no way someone could hang and still have sex because of the soreness factor.

Now my unit is finally catching up to the weight and did not get immediately sore after 1 or 2 sets. By the end of the 2nd set at this weight I can feel a good stretch but no soreness. By the end of 3 maybe 4 sets I have a continuous light stretched feeling that I consider light fatigue. Later tonight I may hang another set or two to keep this feeling.

If I may explain light fatigue. For me this means I feel like I worked out but I could still get a good erection and not have any problems. I really think what Bib means by riding the fatigue is not to keep hanging when you get a lot of fatigue and risk injury but to keep a nice light fatigue 24 hours a day. Hence this would support split session hanging.

A sign of too much weight is not being able to get good erections through out the day and have heavy soreness that may take up to 24 hours to go away. Heck 5 months into it and I have only increased 7 lbs. Even with a moderate 2 lb/month increase I should be at 15 lbs. Everyone is different! Just listen to your body and like everyone says take it easy.

Take care and good luck.

I have studied the progressions of all of the big gainers (hanging). They all seem to follow something similar to what Tom Foolery has done. It takes them time to go up, more time than most wish to wait.

You’ve definitely done something that I haven’t invested time in doing. Thank you for sharing what you’ve found with me.

I use a BIB by the way and these are all OTS by the way.

All OTS? Hmm, never done SD? What’s your LOT by the way?

I will tell you this I started back in January after a long layoff due to pushing myself in weight/time prematurely. I started at 2.5 lbs and am now at 5 lbs. I intend not to progress to fast or to slow but plan to be at 6.25 lbs in June, 7.5 lbs. in July, etc. reaching 10 lbs. Sept. If I were to go at a faster pace add a lb. to each month so 10 lbs by August. I will suspect I have added at least a solid inch if not more by then. You get the point though: low weight.

Yea… I definitely get the point. I’ve been upping my weight far too quickly. Guess my mind created some correlation between weight hung and size gained even though there really was none. Now, in this respect BBS, do you advice that I just stick with my 17.5 lbs for a good 2-3 months that I intend to? Or does it make ANY sense to drop it back to the 7-10 lbs range? I would do what Andrew69 suggested and stop PE and give my ligs time to decondition but to be completely honest, I can’t. I’m moving away from home and off to live in the dorms in Jan of next year, and by then, I will have absolutely NO privacy to hang. Therefore, to give my ligs time to decondition (2-3 months I would guess), I would much rather focus on tunica stretching with SO hanging or OTS.

The best advice I was given is what I give to you that really helped me understand hanging: “You should never feel the weight. At no point in time did I ever feel any pain, tension, discomfort, etc. If I did, I dropped weight, adjusted, or was done for the day” (given by BIB) This struck a bell in my head as to just how passive hanging is.

Definitely good advice. Reading that, I remember how I had inadvertently been hanging at 12.5 lbs for like 3 weeks and thinking to myself “WTF…I don’t feel any weight on my cock at all. Oh well, looks like my cock has been conditioned to the weight…Time to increase poundage.”

Higher weights are a result of gains. Not the opposite.

Man, thanks for the succinct quote. That really puts everything in perspective.

My LOT is 6 o clock. I dabbled with SD, BTC, SO, etc before the LOT theory came out. Now, strictly OTS to maximize my time.

How long have you been hanging, total months? Give me your progression? Do you feel the weight? Any gains? How many hours per day/week? Then we can make a better decision…

You could switch angles and start at a lower weight. If you decide to stay where you are, just be honest with yourself and make sure you can truly handle the weight. Only your dick can make that decision.

I wouldn’t take time off personally, unless the dick needed a break or injury, etc. Just switch angles and provide your dick a new stimulus and you can practice the low weight game.

Hope this helps. Peace.

BBS,

Excellent post yet again!

It’s funny you know…I always knew time is the most critical factor, but never really thought about it until now.

I’ve gone from 4.5 lbs to 10 lbs (just started last week) in 3 months and approaching 1/2 inch gain for my trouble.

As Cappy says, the pace of my gains are good enough to keep me at this.

The thing that I really love about hanging is the multi-tasking aspect.I get a bigger dick and earn money at the same time.

I have been hanging ever since March and will be coming up on my 2 month anniversary on the 23rd. I have progressed from 2.5 lbs all the way to 17.5(My stats page is My stats if you want it more precise.). Right now at 17.5 lbs, yes, I feel the weight. At 12.5 and 15 I did not. I have not recorded any gains yet because I wan’t to wait till the 23rd to measure. I hang 7 days a week, and try to get in more than 3 sets everyday. Lately, I’ve been getting in more than 4 sets. And my LOT last I checked (3/23/04) was 9:00.

Wow, so you’ve been hanging for 2 months and you’ve went from 2.5 lbs to 17.5 lbs? Thats a might speedy progression bro IMO.

When I asked if you are feeling the weight that was a trick question as if you know by know you should never feel the weight. I knew you would give me the answer I was looking for… IMO, I would drop weight down to where you don’t feel it and then hang there until you hit fatigue, and make gains. When you stop making gains then move back up.

Also with your LOT as high as it is, I would be hitting BTC and SD exclusively, SO would be the highest (maybe to mix it up a little) I would go and still I would only focus the majority of time BTC.

Hope this helps. Peace.

BBS, I have now moved back down to 12.5lbs and I hung it for 10 sets today. Also, I quite honestly believe that my LOT has moved down ever since it’s 2 month old measurement of 9:00. So I’ll definently move into hanging SO starting Mon. And in case I haven’t said it enough already, I really appreciate all your input and advice BBS.

Great post guys, I learned probably more in this post than any I’ve ever read about hanging. This will in the long run really help me out. This site rules the world!

This is a good post, I have always thought that time is what does it. I start right at almost max weight and stay at that weight and for me to get any gains I have to hang for at least 10 hours a week. Right now I’m doing the OTC hanging and this is the first time I switched from hanging down, so if I get a good gain in will once again prove biggers theory.

See, that was my problem. Through all the reading on this site, it is not emphasized ENOUGH that TIME not WEIGHT creates gains. Common sense says that if you increase weight, gains should come quicker, but not everything abides by the laws of common sense and this is yet another.

When I was first starting out I kept injuring myself, pushing it. BIB told me “he never feels the weight, he never feels anything whatsoever, and if he does he adjusts.” When he said, “he never feels anything” that is what changed the way I think about hanging and the process.” To me and I think most others, this is the biggest obstacle to overcome, to allow yourself not to feel anything, to not focus on the weight. Kind of like the Matrix: “You must let it all go.”

I am pleased that I read this thread before starting hanging properly. My bib starter should arrive this week.

I tried hanging with a home made device 1 month ago for 2 weeks but stopped because it was causing too much pain as I moved up in weight. I can see now that I was moving up in weight way too fast.
The thing is I could not feel any stress on my ligaments with the lighter weight so I kept moving up. I did not realise that I was not supposed to feel anything and that time is more important.

Do you guys warm up by manual stretching first or go straight into your hanging sets?

Here is a thread of mine concerning that issue: Light-moderate stretching before hanging…. But for your knowledge, I personally do not stretch before hanging.

Ok BBS. Today I started SO hanging with 5 sets of 5 lbs. Felt practically nothing. Thought about upping it to 7.5 lbs but thought about what you said and didn’t. So here’s my question: For you, what determines how long you stay at a particular weight. Is it time, feeling, what? If it is time, does 1 month of staying at a particular weight before upgrading sound ok to you?
