Some infrared heat observations

Some really sexy IR lamps here:

Those IR mittens have me intrigued.

I was originally going to buy a normal luminescent bulb but read somewhere that the ceramic lamp is better. So I researched it and fund that this opinion is shared by manufacturers of both types.

Here’s an example.

From: http://www.infr … com/petwarm.htm
The Salamander Edison screw-based emitter (ESES) ceramic infrared heater creates natural sun-like heat to provide animals with the warmth they require, whether it be for comfort, incubating or therapeutic needs. The Edison screw-base design fits into an ordinary light bulb socket type reflector (of sufficient wattage rating.) Ceramic heating elements were designed specifically for use with pets such as lizards, iguanas, geckos and other reptiles, birds, domestic pets, exotic and tropical animals and arboreal snakes. The gentle uniform heat pattern of the ESES offers a vast improvement over ruby red heat lamps or regular light bulbs which emit light, have infrared hot spots created by the glowing element inside the bulb, break or shatter easily, and have a short life span. Replacing fan-forced air heating avoids the wasteful problem of heated air rising to the ceiling.

I’ve also attached a pic of what the ceramic lamp looks like.

Hmmm, since some other posters complained of hot spots (basically a lack of focus with the bulbs) I’m wondering if these ceramic ones are better.

Anyone have experience with the IR ceramic elements? Anyone have experience with both that and the bulbs?

I did a search, and found some but they do seem exeedingly pricey - I’d rather stick with the conventional ones

Yes, they are a bit pricier. Considering a standard setup would be around $20 for the bulb and the socket, while a ceramic bulb can itself be over $30.

I was just thinking since some people commented on it not working for them or their thighs getting hot but not their penis, that perhaps it was due to lack of focus. Causing a ring of hot spot with nothing in the middle. I suppose it could boil down to different bulb manufacturers too and some just aren’t as good.

That is a problem But it is possile that the blood going through the penis when erect will take the heat away more quickly. Also of course there is more square footage on thighs then a penis - Well I hope so (:

I might suggest using Far Infrared as opposed to near/middle infrared.

This quote is for the Detox box commonly found at Day Spa’s and Therapy clinics.

Quote
Far infrared is a naturally occurring energy source that is emitted by every cell in the human body as well as the sun. Far infrared is even used in some humidicribs! When we use far infrared in The Detox Box, it is able to penetrate the body up to 6cm and induce a strong sweat that draws chemicals and toxins out through the skin via sweat. In The Detox Box, you will sweat 2-3 times more than a traditional sauna but at half the temperature. Now you can sweat away - whilst in a very comfortable and relaxing temperature.

I’ve used a detox box before and I came out feeling really good.

Detox box? You mean like an infrared sauna?

What kind of setup do they use in those? Bulb?

I’ve considered making one of those.

I think we are in danger of going over the top on the heating required for PE.
We are only talking about heating the penis and ligaments etc. of a small area of the body, and one or two ordinary lamps should be adequate for heating the area required.

Of course there is nothng wrong in having a full blown sauna if you want one. But that is for an d entirely different purpose.

I use a Philips HP3614 Infraphil Lamp 100w and although I have only used it once, it made my penis very elastic, the reason I have only used it once is due to having a Lymphocele and heat causes it to swell.

Yeah, the idea of building an infrared sauna was totally separate from PE.

ANybody else have experience with a detox box? It sounds very interesting.

Has anyone else on here used the infraphil by philips? either one, I think the one I was goin to get was HP3614 with the 100W bulb in like James1984 mentioned. Also, would it be dangerous to swap the bulb for a 150W? As in, would this be too powerful for the lamp?

I’m not sure about the bulb although I doubt 50w more would make the lamp break.

The 100w for me is very hot, when I turned the lamp on I had to move it away due to it starting to burn my penis :p , my penis felt better after 5 - 10minutes (accept for my Lymphocele) than it had ever when using a hot flannel to warm up, once I get back in to pe this is definitely the only way I will be warming up.

The 100W bulb is much smaller than the 150 watt so it probably would not fit in the lamp shade.
Also it might be a different fitting as some 150W have a 3pin fitting (120degrees aroung the circumference)
I found the 100W too weak to be of any use unless it was so near the penis it got in the way.

You could try having two 100W lamps each side of the penis. which would warm it both sides,
But they are very light and easily knocked over. In my opinion the 150 watt is a far better lamp to use.
