Lig pops signal length

I’ve been doing manual stretches for a while now and I’ve found that I get a really good stretch, but sometimes, I’ll get lig pops like crazy. Is this a sign that I’m working towards growth and that was the lig(s) that held back or is there too much lig popping that can occur? I’ll manual stretch at different times during the day, I’ve found that while totally flaccid, some pops can happen once a week, but being semi erect allows for more to take place.

I have not heard of lig pops through stretching, only Hanging. Maybe it means growth, maybe not. When you crack your knuckles, do your fingers grow?



I have also experienced more frequent lig pops lately, as you said, mostly while semi-erect. It seems I can get 2-3 per day, nowadays. Some other thread mentioned that lig pops would indicate a possibility of bigger growth (I hope it is so).


I’ve been PEing for a while and have never had a lig pop despite about 1.5 in. of EL gain. I’m starting to feel like I’m missing out. I hang BTC, so what gives? I wonder if Bigger and Tom Hubbard had lig pops? Oh well, here I go cryin on my hanger again.

You can also use the search tool to find additional info on the lig pops. I think what is most important is that you listen (no pun intended) to your body an if there is pain stop immediately! Many get them, I occasionally do. I think they may indicate som form of growth. Maybe some more vets could chime in and add a little insight.

Jelqtoid - don’t sweat it if you’re not getting them. At least you wont have to deal with the scared shitless initial feeling you get from it. LOL!! :)

LOL = Laughing Out Loud !! J I got fed up with trying to figure out what all these e-mail and forum abbreviations were so I searched it on Google and found this web site.

It lists about 8 pages of what these abbreviations mean. I printed them out and keep them by my computer. They have been helpful. Now I don’t have to beat my head on the computer trying to figure it out!

While jelqing I sometimes get a popping noise and it seems to come before a gain, I don’t now what the deal is I don’t like the sound but it seems to come with a gain.


Well, I’m starting to believe that I get lots of pops at certain times because I had many ligament fibers at the same length. With enough consistent pressure, they broke and are going to rebuild. Technically, should I continue to stretch, they should begin to form to the size of the other fibers. For that reason, I don’t think the cracking knuckles analogy is totally on. I’ve concluded that I probably have a bunch of fibers that are shorter and similar in length, so they are going all around the same time.


i pop the other day when i was erect and just pushed down at the base. didnt measure though.
