Morning all,

I just received my Power Jelq Device through the post and ran up stairs with a semi, looking forward to a gooood workout. But to my dismay I seemed incapable of using the damn thing……I tried to follow the instructions from the videos and what I’ve read here, but nothing seemed to work, especially the sideways girth technique. All of this has got me rather frustrated. Do any of you guys who have had success with a PJD have any tips please (it’s the Mark 2 model)?

I don’t have a PJ, but I did build one out of some steak tongs a long while back. Just had to see what the concept could actually do in terms of jelqing.

Sorry, but I don’t “get it” either…just didn’t seem to get a good jelq out of the idea. To me, there’s a difference between jelqing and just squishin’ you dick around with an odd tool. The homemade PJ was best described as the latter, maybe that’s good, maybe that’s not. Some say it’s a different kind of jelqing and works, I didn’t stick with the TJ (Tong Jelq!) long enough to verify.

it took me 2 or 3 sessions to get an effective work-out but when I got into it I really liked what happened.
My dick immediately got stronger and more pumped. I had tried manual jelqing before but gave up after a month or so.
The PJ helped me get into a consistent routine and after a year + of PE I still use it but recently added manual jelqing.
It seems that I was simply not comfortable using my hands and the PJ clicked for me. It is possible to squeeze too hard and compress the tissues excessively. Just take it easy and don’t overdo the pressure.
It also is a very handy stretching device especially for a bundled twist stretch that I learned from DLD.

start: 6” ebp
now: 6 7/8” ebp

I have a PowerJelq and I have used it for both stretching and jelqing. It does feel a little awkward at first but once I got the hang of it I really liked the device. I am not familiar with the excersise that you are talking about. Have you tried to go to betterman and post your question/frustration over there. I am sure that they can give you an answer right away.

I’m only a couple months into PE-ing, but grabbed a PJ after about a month.

I had problems with my penis running out the side, but you get use to it and develope balance. Also, I was squeezing way too hard, i’m lucky I didn’t blow my glans off my body, and was getting large purple and red spots, and had blood come out (bleeding urethra). Especially the first day or 2, I was squeezing it down like a pancake and couldn’t bring it all the way to the end because all the blood was engorged in my Glans (hence lucky I didn’t hurt myself).

The Guys here told me to back off, and I did. I see small red spots once in a while jelqing the PJ, or by hand, now. I keep it at work, and use it there, but still use my hands once in a while, for variety. I also started stretching using the Captn’s Wench (it’s in another thread how to build it).

Here’s an excerpt on using the powerjelq that I wrote a while ago in a previous post. Hopefully, other users will add their input. Note: the ROLLER GRIPS YOUR SHAFT AND IS NOT SUPPOSED TO ROTATE.

Here’s what I said (with some edits):

“POWERJELQ” ROUTINE

1) start off with a very light touch when using it. I can begin in the flaccid state and with a light and flexible touch begin Power-Jelq gripping from the base and pulling up (not rolling up) the shaft stopping about 1 inch below the head or glans (most sensitive area with nerves).

2) as I begin to get harder, I gradually increase the intensity of my grip on the power jelq. Remember, that the feeling should be one that’s firm but comfortable. Don’t get too aggressive and squeeze the Power-Jelq too
intensely.

3) keep your grip flexible, i.e. as you slide the Power-Jelq up your shaft allow your grip to relax or increase depending on the pull that you’re getting. As you return to the base, ease up on the grip and begin again.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: the powerjelq is NOT SLIDING ACROSS THE SKIN causing irritation. Rather you are gripping at the base of your shaft, squeezing and pulling the base skin up the shaft, using it as the sliding barrier on your dick to force bloodflow up toward the glans. This is similar to the technique of DRYJELQING. So, I personally powerjelq WITHOUT LUBE.

4) experiment and vary the pace of your Power-Jelqing strokes. At the beginning, I jelq a bit faster and, then as I become more erect and thick, I slow down my pace.

5) as my erection nears about 80-90%, I concentrate my grip and pull near the lower 2-3 inches of the base of my shaft, using a technique that’s more like a squeeze/pull up and hold . It’s kind of like a “massaging” technique I implement on the lower third of the shaft with the PJ. I think this can help for “girth” gains.

6) I use the Power-Jelq for about 20-30 minutes once/twice a day, or as time permits.

If you haven’t already, you may want to trim the pubic hair at the base of your shaft.

I’m a believer in variety in order not to get bored, so I readily switch between manual jelqing and powerjelqing. I am also a pumper.

Work up gradually without discomfort and not too aggressively. Time and gains are on your side!

Note: I’ve personally never liked using the PJ on the side of my dick, always top and bottom.

what about rest? the newbie routine recommends 2 days on, one day off for jelqing. do you ever take a break from power jelqing to avoid overtraining?

I have only used my powerjelq off and on for the past two years. I still like to use it for a change of pace now and then from manual jelqing, but I prefer to pump and clamp and am now experimenting with some vacuum hanging. When I did actively powerjelq, I would take breaks whenever I felt like my dick was over fatigued. Sometimes that was every two days or three days.

I have a P.J. , And use it in conjunction with manual jelqing , and I like the one two punch .
The manual stresses the sides of my unit , and the P.J. Does the top and bottom .

I warm up real well , then do twenty minutes of manual jelqing , then go right into using the P.J. , Usually for the same twenty minute period of time .

Try lots of different angles , and things like starting at a low angle , and as you jelq forward , pull the angle upwards , standing with a wide stance , and pulling straight down , etc .

Good luck to you , be safe , and just keep doing it , you will get better with time and experience .

I too have a homemade PJ and just followed all the instructions listed in the homemade PJ thread. Its just like peforeal explained. Once you get the hang of it and learn to keep your unit balanced, it works quite well. When I try it on the sides my unit wants to twist around so I just stay on the top and bottom. I too am a pumper and like variety just to keep things interesting. Between pumping sets I’ll either dry jelq to get the blood flowing again or use my PJ, both have an awesome effect during your pumping breaks.
