I don’t know if this has been discussed before but I’ll share anyways. For the past few weeks I’ve been doing a clamping routine accompanied by some other manual work such as dry jelqs and Horse squeezes, all done under IR light. Almost from the beginning I would get many red spots on my shaft, mostly along the top, but also along the bottom. These would appear almost as soon as I would start dry jelqing. This week however I added in pumping in the afternoon to go along with the routine I’d been doing at night. After this the red spots have almost completely disappeared. I haven’t been pumping too intensely, just around 2 sets at 5hg for 10 minutes each. I don’t how this is making it so that I don’t get as many burst capillaries, but I haven’t changed anything else in my routine except adding the pumping.

Yea I was thinking the same thing. But from reading Dangleman’s descriptions I think his might’ve been raised red bumps, which is different than what I have, but who knows it might be of some help.

There seems to be a pattern developing here so I’ll comment on it. Nobody needs to be getting red spots or red bumps from anything.

Fact 1:
You need to keep in mind that infrared heat is different from rice socks, or hot water from the shower. Infrared heat penetrates deep below the skin surface.

Fact 2:
Ligaments and other tissue can change from their normal state to a plastic state when they are heated to 104º Fahrenheit.

I don’t know if this would apply to blood vessels and capillaries as well, but if I had to guess… I would think there is a good chance of it. A small capillary could absorb the heat rather quickly and easily. Perhaps you guys are proving this very thing to be right. You are using infrared heat (which might be putting you into this “plastic state” PLUS you are using high-pressure techniques, clamping and such. The combination of the two is too much, and you guys are finding that out. You can use infrared heat, but you have to use your head, not your impatience… error on the side of caution.

What I’m reading out of Sunny’s comments is that you need to be careful, and it’s just too complicated unless you go study it yourself. I always took that as a warning, and that bad things can happen, so “watch it.”

Clamping, I would think, is the most likely to be where problems show up first… and that has already happened. High pressure + weaker tissue = accidents. Back off, slow down, something is “too extreme” here. You need to troubleshoot it, just like any other problem. Eliminate things one at a time; or reduce the intensity of something… whether it’s the light intensity, time duration, or the “tightness” of your clamping/jelquing/stretching or whatever. If you are going at it too rowdy PLUS going into that plastic state from the infrared you might not get the results that you are looking for.

I really appreciate the concern and advice. My red spots however were not restricted to the time that I used IR light, I’d been getting them whenever I’d done any girth exercises regardless of intensity, usually after the very first minute of dry jelquing, or uli, or anything. I don’t know why, I guess I just have a penis sensitive to pressure or something. Otherwise, doing these exercises lately, my penis has felt healthier and my erections have felt much fuller so I don’t think I’m overtraining nor doing anything detrimental.

I must say however, that it is true that IR light can be a little tricky. The first time I used it I put it too close and had sensitive skin the next day. Now I place it 14-18 inches away. Also, I’m not under the light the entire time. I usually warm up for 10 minutes under it, then turn it off and only turn it back on for the clamping sets I do.

I’m not too sure about IR heat making blood vessels go into a plastic state… you have to bear in mind that the blood vessels are being ‘water-cooled’ by your blood. Tendons and ligaments are a whole different story because they receive notoriously poor circulation (which is why tendon injuries take so long to heal)

edit: During warmup, I normally hold the 100W IR light about 4” away from my dong and switch sides every 20 seconds or so. I have had no ill effects nor has it changed the amount of blood spots I get. I am careful to apply moisturiser to keep the skin cool and moist. During girth exercises I remove the light, occasionally ‘reheating’ for 2-minute periods.

I also think that the colour of your dong is a factor. If you have a dark penis the skin is going to absorb more light than if you have a lighter one.
