Hi,

I’ve been on a routine for L-arginine for over a month now, with a dosage of 3 x 1500mg a day, capsule form and to date I still have to notice any benefits but there haven’t been any side effect either.
I’ve read about another form of L-Arginine, being AAKG, which doesn’t get as digested as the natural form, so it’ll pass through the system much more efficiently, so I think my next batch that I’ll order will be this form.
Maybe 1 benefit that may have occurred can be a better blood flow down under, but that can also be caused by performing PE.

Are there other people having any experience with the AAKG form of arginine?

thanks for sharing. I have seen it in a powder form marketed to bodybuilding. Was thinking it may be beneficial to EQ in my case.

Arginine tastes like arse.

Get in capsule form if you can or go for Citrulline Malate instead which is a precursor to Arginine. Has a nicer taste too.

I take AAKG quite often, does give better erections but also makes me more prone to red spots.

I have been taking l-arginine for a couple years now and it definitely helps, especially with giving me more solid erections. There is this thing called “hgr essentials” which has l-arginine and alot if other great minerals that aide in PE. I think that the affects of l-arginine are stifled when you don’t take l-lysine. It should be in a 1:3 ratio. (500 l-lysine : 1500 l-arginine). If you get the hgr essentials it has both of those plus more. I’d look into it.

Goal: NBPEL 8.5 EG: 6

Current: NBPEL 7.5 EG: 5.5

Capernicus1, did you also take the regular arginine first before switching over to the AAKG form, and if so, did you notice any difference by doing that?

I also read that the AAKG form is not so high dosed like the regular one, 2 to 3 grams tops per day, is this correct and could you share which dosage you use?

I did take regular arginine for a while but definitely find the AAKG more effective.

Couldn’t tell you what exact dosage I take as I buy it as powder rather than capsules but about a teaspoons worth once a day
ideally about 30mins before a PE session.

NOW Foods L-Arginine powder is incredible. I’ve only been on it for a week and I notice some big improvements such as substantially increased vascularity ALL around (including my penis), lower blood pressure, better erections, and my favorite: longer and thicker flaccid size.

I take one serving (4.6g) before a workout and one serving before bed.

Hmm, that makes a dosage of 9 grams a day, and I was thinking if I wasn’t taking too much with 3 x 1.5g a day :D .

Would it be wise to up-pen my dosage after about 1.5 months of taking it and seeing or feeling no noticeable effects?

First of all, ditch the capsule form completely. You want the powdered form mixed in water so it’s immediately available after consumption. You should also take it on an empty stomach if you aren’t already so there’s no competition between other amino acids.

If it’s taking you almost 2 months to notice any effects from L-Arginine, then you’re doing it wrong (low dosage and using capsules instead of drinking it). Here’s the one I purchased: http://www.amaz … /dp/B0019LWV74/

From some comments I saw from a doctor about L-Arginine, 5g a day is required (in powdered form) to have a positive effect on erectile health and close to 10g a day if you’re looking to naturally boost HGH.

great feedback, thanks to everyone. I will be looking for some powder over capsules… Hgr essentials sounds good. I’ll do some googling.

Do you cycle L-Arginine? I heard that one can build a tolerance towards it if not cycled off every month or so.

I have taken arginine ethyl ester regularly for almost a year. I think the ‘side effects’ are more noticeable when you first start taking it, but I’m not certain this is due to the body building a tolerance to it, in my personal experience there has been no drop off in the ultimate benefits of improved EQ/ slight size increase, recovery time (gym/training) over time, it just seems as though the marginal benefits sort of plateau out. I would thoroughly recommend trying it, I use the ethyl ester variety, it tastes bad, but it mixes well with water, and if you add fruit juice the taste is less noticeable.

Funny, I just took ten capsules that I filled myself last night before bed and my morning wood was heroic!

I did have problems sleeping and some minor stomach upset, but a reasonable payoff considering the results.


Began December 2009 at 5 7/8" length and 5" girth.

As of December 5th 2012 7 3/8" BPEL and 6 1/8" base girth.

Going for the magic 8"x6"
