The first month you see that you gained nothing, it’s definitely time to switch up your routine. Either modify it or do something completely different, so long as it’s different than what you’ve been doing. This’ll shock your body again, thus re-introduce additional gains.

I think what he is asking is how long should he do the newbie routine before he considers the next step such as hanging, pumping, clamping. Right? I’ve read that 3 months is the minimum before you should think about taking the next step. But I guess it’s your pecker that you should listen to. Wouldn’t that determine when he’s ready to move on? BTW, I’m a newb too, someone else should (and will) correct me where I am wrong.

Kramer, just stick to the instructions that go with the newbie routine, they include instructions on when to move to more advanced routines.

Then I would suggest they look at their technique.

Its *MY* opinion that everyone can gain from the newbie routine. Whether they’re prepared to stick at it long enough to find out, is another thing entirely.

No, I mean that other guy (forgot his name but could look it up if needed) who never got any gains, not even from using the BIB-hanger for months.

I’m sceptic about the “everyone”. There are always exceptions due to physiological factors. If you’d say “95 to 98% can gain from the newbie routine”, I think that’s a safe estimate. But again, a full 100%? Nay.
